Watch a full tutorial as a 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata will have a new pair of NVX component speakers installed in the front doors. We will be using the NVX VSP65KIT 6.5" component speaker system amplifier which is rated for 125w RMS each side of power output for better sound quality.
Note: This vehicle wasn't equipped with Bose from the factory so we do not need to retrain a factory Bose amplifier.
This video applies to Mazda MX-5 Miata models for years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. This video also includes door panel removal, crossover wiring, and installation.

Just done this on a 2009 model and wanted to provide some additional info for anyone else watching.
Firstly, the 2009 model i have had a slightly different handle, and rather than removing a bit off rhe top, you have to remove the whole thing. I did it with a screwdriver from the bottom, using a towel so i didnt damage anything. It needs quite a bit of force.
Secondly i was struggling to source the tweater mounts in the UK, but if you have holesaw attachements for a drill then you can just pop out the orignal tweeter, clamp the plastic surround to a bit of wood, and then cut the right size hole for your new tweeter. This worked perfectly for my JBL set.
Otherwise rhe video was spot on and i really appreciate the guidance. 😊

Curious about the difference in the sound.

Curious why didn't you stick with original driver sizes, 6x9 I believe?

6x8" driver (similar to ford platforms). To go with a component set a 6x8" isn't really available, so we went with a 6.5" component set.

HOW DO THEY SOUND? I mean great install, but like do they sound good? It would have been nice to hear.

don't expect youtube audio quality to give you an idea how they sound. They sound decent, but I would rather recommend the Alpine Type S line over these NVXs.

Look at the title of the video: 2006 - 2015, which equates to an NC Miata, in case you didn't know.

@@mateocarlos2674check the NC Miata options list, Bose system is quite different from non-Bose and this is a more than valid question.
