    Fantastic video, thanks for sharing. I'll be eagerly awaiting a video on replacing the rear brake hoses as I have one that's looking a bit battered and defeated, so it would be good to see the correct way of replacing it. I also want to replace my front struts but am a little hesitant to use spring compressors due to the risk of injury if used incorrectly. When I took the rear shocks off they didn't decompress at all when I pressed them down, so I'm sure the front ones must be just as bad. Anyway, looking forward to seeing all of your future videos as no doubt you will be doing this too at some point. In the meantime, enjoy the great British sunshine while it lasts!

      @@richardd9634 Haha, I’m sure those videos will come in time. Front coil springs hold a hell of a lot more stored energy than the rears and will happily break free and cause utter carnage, if the spring compressors are not up to it.

    I have continued to enjoy all your videos and your new purchase. Dont forget the little Smart. I still have mine but there must be something in the air for Fortwo owners this year as I also purchased a silver 2 seater sports car. But for me its an MX5. I was amused to see your new BMW after I got my Mazda, and I wished you also got one as I could copy all the service guides. I'm still learning good stuff though and also cant bring myself to sell the fortwo.
    Idea for Smart content is allround bulb upgrades/replacement guide. I would also want to know is there a safe way to increase the steering lock on the smart as it seems artificially restricted, annoying for parking.
    And for the convertibles how to best look after/clean the hood material. I can see some green appearing and I have done so many washes.

      @@Smart451-ut6df I had considered an MX5 but when my friend had one I didn’t fit in it very well. The Z3 is just about ok but I wouldn’t want to be any taller! I have actually sold my Smart now. It was a difficult decision but essentially I ran out of content on it, having done so much with it. Naturally the Z3 took pride of place in the garage and I didn’t want the Smart living outside, exposed to the elements, so it’s an all BMW fleet now. In terms of the steering lock on the Smart, it’s something I’d be wary about and can’t really think of an effective way to change that. I’ve heard that the newer 453 models have an amazing turning circle though!
      In terms of convertible roof maintenance there are some excellent products out there for cleaning and waterproofing. I’ll be looking for the best product once I’ve covered the ‘mechanical’ side of the Z3 and move onto bodywork and trim.

    no copper washer on calliper to hose?

    • @autoknight747
      @autoknight747  4 месяца назад

      @@mikeyc6563 No washers there as it’s not a banjo fitting. The metal end of the brake hose is tapered/conical and seats against similar surface in the caliper.
