I have been waiting for the ability to use ambient sounds in automations and shortcuts. My daughter loves listening to rain before bed and I found a playlist that worked but wasn’t as good as the Apple ambient one. So finally I can switch it to the Apple ambient one. Thanks for this video, definitely not an expected feature.
I wish there was a way to disable to temp/humidity sensor without having to remove home pod from the house. The reason is because I already have a sensor in the same room. So when I ask what the temperature is. She responds with “it’s 66 to 70° in your bedroom.” Simply because both sensors are reading different areas of the room at different heights.
My entire family now has access to all the HomeKit functionality. After the prior update, everyone but me lost access. They didn’t mention fixing that.
When you say « less talking from siri » at the end, are you switching a specific option on your homepod settings or is it something that comes automatically with the news update ? Love your work ✌🏻
Hmmm I could already create automations via voice, been doing it for like a year now? For example, I often change my pool equipment start times via voice command, and things like "at 10pm turn off the front porch light"
Question! I’m wanting to get two HomePod minis for my living room setup and was wondering? 1st: how does volume work if you have it setup to Apple TV? Do you control it through Siri? Or does the controller do the volume? 2nd: if I have them setup as a stereo pair do they no longer function as a smart home device? Or do they still respond to “Siri turn on the lights.”
1. you can use your Apple TV remote to control the audio if you you have the homepods paired to it as default audio output. 2. HomePods will still function as smart speakers and will respond to Siri voice commands.
Hey Shane! do you know why my homepods would not show their temperature? when i check homekit the only temp readings i get is from my ecobee. all my homepods are on 16.3 as well
I currently have HomePod minis and nest temperature sensors next to each other in several rooms. At minimum, there is always a three degree difference between them. Even HomePod minis in a stereo pair report differences in temperature in two of my rooms. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m skeptical concerning the accuracy of the temperature sensors in the HomePod minis. Shane, any insight would be appreciated.
hi, please help HomePod mini Siri says there is no connection to the Internet, I go into the application, it shows a Wi-Fi connection, but Siri says no. How to fix it
Apple is way better than samsung because it releases most unusual products and best products ever but samsung only relases phones tablets and laptops pc nothing unusual
It would be awesome to see dedicated videos (or shorts) on each of these features 👍🏻
I really like how when you ask Siri she goes “hm”. It’s a subtle gesture that makes it feel alive

i have 4 himepods and 4 minis. i'm loving the new update!

Great to hear!
Great stuff! Thanks
Sweet!

Thanks! It’s automatic 😃

oooh! Some funky features! Are all the bugs ironed out yet though?
How do you get the temperature?
Yeah, I Can’t get automations for temperature don’t work. Looks like I got a wait for another software update.😢
What case are you using?

Same for me!
@@MJ-ju3fp yeah somethings messed up with the update, it doesn’t let me include ambient sounds in my automations either
Did you restart your HomePod? iPhone is updated as well? Sometimes it take a while for the temp sensor to show up after updating.
Mine took a while to calibrate, then showed up. I’ve yet to see the ambient sound options though. 🤔
Can you change the default media player to RUclips music?
Homepod Mini: (swears)
So basically can I said that be a routine based on the sound level from the house?
Anyone have issue with big homepod not connecting to sensor? Mini one works though
The constant error messages when the Hue lamps in scenes do not have the correct color tone or react too slowly are annoying, even in v17
Does it support matter?
i got new connection problems . damn

Yes I have the same thing happening with my paired HomePod minis.
Why don’t my temperature and humidity sensor work
Why do they have birds chirping on the rain ambient sound?
I just wish my Minis would all stop showing “Update Downloading” in Home for 3 months.
Contact apple support, even if it’s out of warranty/apple care
What app do I download for this ? I just bought it and I’m so confused lol what app do I download
The Apple Home app. It comes preinstalled on all iPhones but you can download it from the App Store if you've removed it.
How do you do software updates ?
In the home app
the temperature sensor is too slow to use it for heater automatuon.
Hidden sensors 😮
Why are u holding it when ur saying it won’t reply. Are you not referring to it being able to just hear a command and do it without touching it?
When can we use third party apps for audio instead of just Music app!
You can use a few different ones now... still no Spotify tho.
@@ShaneCreates any apps in mind?

Most important question for me: Does the HomePod advertise? Or recommend bullschit? Like the echo devices
Nope! Not at all.
wow Siri can swear too?
WHEN IT WORKS..... :-(
I can’t play Spotify or RUclips music on this thing ??? Waste of money
Love the shirt! 😂
Thanks!
Third one kind of creepy… I get the point, cool feature, but seems unnecessary.
Why don’t you show how to do any of these things? This isn’t helpful.
U look fried bro 💀
