This run turned out better than my exceptions, I was really nervous and massive shoutouts to Mr_shasta and Omegagalax with their golden commentary. This really is a challenging run, there's so much that can go wrong quickly. I'm just glad people enjoyed it overall I've worked on this run since 2012 and it's come such a looooong ways. I think one thing we all forgot to mention was who it was that made Super Jump possible outside of TAS and you guys can thank vlacksr for coming up with the pause buffer method. :)
Wario's laugh is even better with how fast he's moving. Like, the enemies are probably really confused by the fat guy in yellow running full speed past them to grab the crystals
The GameCube era of gaming was so incredibly innovative. Games like this and Spyro and Mario Sunshine explored a huge range of potential with platforming, environments, and enemies that the N64 era just didn't have the capability for. This is one of my most nostalgic games of all time.
We really need a 2nd Wario World. I really enjoyed it! It was charming, felt unique while feeling very Nintendo...Man, all around a great game! Probably didn't sell to well I reckon... Oh well.
We need another Wario game in general. It's been years since the last one, and Wario is such an interesting character to observe. His portrayal is very consistent across all of the games he's been in, yet he always feels like a breath of fresh air (accompanied by the faint scent of hot food, of course).
Great run, really enjoyed watching it when it happened! By the way, the "anonymous" $20 donation at 52:52 (45:39 on the run timer) was me, I didn't mean it to be an anonymous donation but I misread the form. Anyway, thanks to Shasta for introducing me to how great a speedgame this is to watch, and congrats to Dangerless for the successful run!
Thats my boy Danger! It was really nice to get the chance to see you run this game and it was great you got the Sub 48 despite a Arena so good stuff. Sorry I couldn't be there to join you Omega and Shasta on the couch for the Wario Fantastic 4 but I was there in Spirit. Hopefully get to see this game at a GDQ in the future
Every time I played this game I was never able to get to the spider boss for some reason. So everything beyond there is completely new to me. Dang just realized I never beat the game. But I played it so much though
I just ordered a japanese copy yesterday after watching your run. The game looks really fun, I'd never heard of it before. And the japanese box art is just fantastic :)
Funny you mention that, 100% is a very intensive run. It's nonstop all over the place and super challenging (not that any% isn't). I didn't think they'd accept 100% because it's a 30 minute longer run but there's always next time.
There's an attack the spider can do with it but you don't see it. If you hang around the web long enough after his jump attack, he'll try to hit you with a web attack and pull you towards him.
Oh yeah, I don't think I ever did mention it but Mean Emcee (the boss of Mirror Mansion) is a reference to a movie called "The Mask" (or so it is heavily believed).

Hey no problem, I personally enjoy doing so. This was my first ever GDQ run.
+Dangerless dude great run!
+Dangerless Really enjoyable and entertaining to watch, congratulations on a great run! Glad to see you on GDQ :)
it was very entertaining to watch :)
Thanks guys, I've dropped a lot of work for this game and I'm still really glad people enjoyed watching it. :)

OLD: 9:25 is the start!
EDIT: The correct time is 7:11. Thanks Halo Theft Auto 4 for mentioning it in comments!
The start time is now 7:11
***** Thanks for mentioning. I was sleeping when they edited it.
My god this game brings back childhood memories.
I remember how scared I was as a kid when seeing some of these bosses.
this was back in 2003. i'm 19 now.
So what? Please don't reply with needless negative comments. Some people just like to have some nostalgic memories with these runs.
I found somebody else that also was scared by some of the bosses
finnaly i'm not alone
Honestly... There's something about horror babies like the boss from 2-1 that gives everyone the creeps
I was older by the time this game came out, but fucking glover scared the piss outta me.
This is the secret best run because of [WARIO NOISES]

+RougeMephilesClone Game and wario wasn't that long ago
+Nohrian Scum Wario Ware and Game and Wario aren't really games imo, it's like a collection of mini-games.
+Lyra Levinston So if a collection of minigames isn't a game, what is it?
7 Years old commentar and we have still not have a new Wario World. Waiting for a new one every year Nintendo anounce one

Cool, didn't expect a donator to post here! Shasta is a pretty cool guy and thank you!
I love Wario World. As soon as I saw this video, I knew I had to subscribe.
I loved watching my brother play this game when I was little.
I only wish this game was longer. It was so good, even with that infuriating final level.

Run starts at 9:24
Run starts at 7:05 if you want to skip the interview. =)
Shoutouts to Dangerless
wow this run sure brings back memories, I almost forgot about this game :D
Some wild bosses in this game!
I love this game but it's bosses are super unsettling...
I know, right? I love creepy/morbid character designs, and this game scratches that itch (not hard, but it still tries).
I loved this game
7:21
Run start
Wow! Now with the super jump things are much easier to skip since the last run!
...I need to finish this eventually, I am on pecan sands still
maybe I'll 100% it while I still can before it ends
POWERFUL WARIO GAME 2004
Actually it was released back in 2003! But the japanese version didn't come out until 2004. Pretty weird.
I just ordered a japanese copy yesterday after watching your run. The game looks really fun, I'd never heard of it before. And the japanese box art is just fantastic :)
Great run btw! You and the guys on the couch did a good job explaining things, i was entertained all the way through!
Both this and Donkey Kong 64 are Part 80?
Most likely oversighted, now fixed. Thanks for the notice.
starts @ 7:08
Is this Pepsiman on the Couch?
Starts at 9:25
I thought if you saved 1 more spriteling you get the birdhouse castle...

Wow a GDQ comment section where most people aren't being assholes. Good job everyone
Honestly, since this game is all about the collectibles, I'd prefer seeing a 100% run. Still really good though, all of the kudos.
Funny you mention that, 100% is a very intensive run. It's nonstop all over the place and super challenging (not that any% isn't). I didn't think they'd accept 100% because it's a 30 minute longer run but there's always next time.
That's something to look forward to. But again, it was still a great run, good job.
EGG SALAD!
Very cool run! I've always wondered though, is this game worth buying and playing casually? I haven't heard much about it. It seems pretty cool.
Well, a full 100% play through will probably take you a day tops. It's short, but you can pick it up reasonably cheap.
I might check it out then, seems like it'd still be worthwhile! Nice work on the run, really enjoyed it.
If you can help it, try grabbing the japanese version. The only difference with japanese is the black jewel fight is played out pretty differently.
9:25
33:38 Pidgeys!
"Kill those boosted animals" xD
Is he saying pacific instead of specific on purpose?
IMMA NUMBER 1!!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
jesus, what IS this game
Is it me, or are all of the bosses inflatable?
The spider even has a nozzle on the rear.
There's an attack the spider can do with it but you don't see it. If you hang around the web long enough after his jump attack, he'll try to hit you with a web attack and pull you towards him.
29:40
Cool!
うめぇなぁ
Have a rotten day!
tfw wario is faster than sonic most of the time
so different from mario
45:53 You fell off. But at least you kicked that Luigi-ripoff boss all way to Saturn and back.
Oh yeah, I don't think I ever did mention it but Mean Emcee (the boss of Mirror Mansion) is a reference to a movie called "The Mask" (or so it is heavily believed).
Dangerless Ah... cool reference.
Such a good run, but my god the character design in this game was so so ugly. Wario is the only exception, but damn... that baby boss... creepy stuff
7:09
cheers
just commenting so this is a top post..
Run starts at 7:00
