no cloth physics mod will improve performance alot. also theres an fps boost mod by Boczekek that disables stuff and makes it run way smoother. should help the steam deck run it better
Thanks for the test! And yes, I'd love if you test bloodborne once in a while. And as ppl already commented, maby you can try out some performance mods and maby some extra settings and tips for us.Locked 30 would be nice. thanks!
It gets better and better! It won't take long anymore until it runs very well and flawless on the Deck. 😎 Thanks for keeping us informed mate. Keep up the good work. 👍👍
Please more emulation content would be cool test metal gear solid 4 or crackdown Shadps4 it's impressive too much progress so fast,in a few months probably this works a lot better on sd,I hope someday I can play drive club or the order 1866 via the emulator
I want to do all metal gear solid on Steam Deck in a single video, including MGS4 on RPCS3, I was waiting for Konami to release Volume 2 of the MGS collection, but seems to be nowhere close to happening atm
I'm probably wrong but, I think health cheats makes more fps drops since, the game is constantly keeping your life at full health (sometimes it will bug itself with a long health bar instead of the real health bar. Probably turning off the cheat, it will be more stable.
This is my golden goose of gaming. The game ive always wanted to play. But I am not very good with all the stuff shown here. Im afraid I'd turn my deck into a brick if I tried to do any of this.
It’s dropping into the 20s very frequently Yh it’s not playable then it needs a couple more months and a few patches to be worth it nice to see it’s coming along well tho
Hey there! Thanks! I use an iphone 16 pro max (I got it recently), the hardest part is to focus on the screen properly and avoid reflections. Older videos were on an iphone 12 pro
A question about another topic. Could you make a video about ngage emulation on the steam deck? From the EKA2L1 N-Gage emulator. Thanks a lot for your great videos!
@@worstperson2ask They ought to add native FSR 3 Frame Generation on Steam Deck. I know that will increase latency, but it might improve the perception of smooth frames in games that are hard-locked to 30 FPS. I've been playing Turok (2008) on Xenia (the Canary branch)... and it runs amazingly well, honestly. Shader compilations are minimal and outside of some graphical glitches (flickering textures), the gameplay itself is smooth. But it suffers from the lack of 60 FPS. Maybe Frame Generation would help in this case.
Because emulation requires more resources than playing the native version of the game on official hardware. Same for any emulator. If you tried RPCS3 with a PC that’s on par with an actual PS3, you’d be lucky to get double digit FPS.
it looks like with enough optimization, the steam deck will definitely be able to get a consistent 30 fps in this game, which is huge, the steam deck is pretty underpowered
@@SantiagoSantiago Yeah the latest release broke the performance on Steam Deck, I am glad I kept a zip of Diegolix version dceb79e since anything after that is just broken (as is in the main).
@@SantiagoSantiago I tried sending you version but my comment keeps getting removed, check your hidden comments on RUclips to see which one I’m talking about that works
it's definitely playable. I found it to work well when the gpu is set to 800. Also as the performance isn't amazing in a lot of areas I've been playing it at 24 fps and it felt fine after a few minutes of getting used to it. Ubisoft would be proud haha. Anyway I'm playing at locked 60 on my laptop instead.
Bloodborne isn't even playable on PS4! LOL! I have the game on PS4 Pro and the inconsistent frame pacing and micro stuttering makes me never want to play a From Software game on console again! It's horrendous! Really, really bad! It's such a shame! The other From Software games have the same issue on the PS4 gen. Bad frame pacing and micro stuttering. I play their games on PC now. From Software games are great, but they really need to fix the frame pacing issues (on console) And, eh... Bloodborne indeed needs a proper PC port!
*UPDATE:* There will be a follow-up video with mods that improve performance and I will try other shadps4 builds, thanks for all the tips!
no cloth physics mod will improve performance alot. also theres an fps boost mod by Boczekek that disables stuff and makes it run way smoother. should help the steam deck run it better
the no cloth physics mod also reduces memory usage spikes so it should help with the limited memory
Excellent! Thank you so much for the heads up!
@@SantiagoSantiagoalso try the fork that’s specifically for bloodborne instead of main.
@@Saigaiii pretty sure thats useless now, main has the latest stuff, could be wrong tho
@@SantiagoSantiagoI would love a test with those mods.
your camera is so crisp. you look fantastic mate xD
Thanks!
To anyone experiencing crashes+infinite loading screens on the legion go, set the uma buffer frame to auto. It SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the issue.
Great video! As always, huge respect for making it so transparent and informative! Would love to see more videos on other emulation ports!
Glad you liked it! There are a few more I plan to cover soon!
3:40 Lol, I never thought I'd hear "only 16 GB"
640k ought to be enough for anybody

Crazy we still havent got a pc port
well... its playable for me, i could play it in 30 fps with some drops of fps.
Maybe but when you start dropping like 5 to 6 fps you are really gonna struggle with some bosses trust me better to wait till it’s more stable
@@aaronvasseur6559 yea, you right. But in the video i only can see 20 fps, the lowest one. I a little less, but just few minutes.
@@filo196 it drops from 25 to 5-6 fps on the bridge with the 1st optionl boss.
I absolutely love this

I will, I got super excited just getting it running on Deck :)

What is Sony doing? We have PS5 but still run at 1080p/30fps...
best steam deck youtuber
Need more resolutions options. Maybe 626p, 540p. Nexus mod have.
The shadps4 App Image for Linux dont Work on my Steam Deck, App dont open
install through emudeck
I tried almost all the settings, frame rate is very unstable, nope, its not playable
same

Great suggestion! At the moment I have lots of stuff on the pipeline for content, so not planned right now

can't you use Lossless Scaling frame generation? I've been using it on my pc with many ps3 games and it works really well
Not an option on SteamOS
