Agreed Grunge, it's good to know she liked when people covered her songs. Zombie was always my favorite for it's intensity and subject matter. It was even more emotional to sing it lastnight, in her honor. 💔 Another breaking heart is taking over. Until we meet again, in another dimension.

Yes, thanks so much for the video. It really gave a lot of insight on Dolores. As I wrote on another site, I am a huge fan of the Cranberries and I loved her voice and her writing. 'Pretty' is my favorite of the Cranberries and 'Everbody Else is Doing it'.... is one of my all-time favorite albums. I was floored at work when I read that she had passed. I routinely listen to 'Everbody Else is Doing it'... and I just listened to it a few days before I had heard she passed. This album, her lovely voice, her poignant writing, and she, Mikey, Noel, and Fergal really helped me through some tough times in the 90s. I was able to see them twice live on the 'Roses' tour. The shows were really good. I pray for her family and that she rest in peace.

In this age of human existence the voice of a legend is NEVER gone even if in 200 year's it is forgotten. On top of that her sing isn't over. Her story is but not her song. Her song will be sung by many different artists over hundreds of year's to come.
I appreciate how much you admire her but sorry the way you wrote it was far from the truth

the thing is that humans are very evil..almost every girl i know ore heard of has been raped ore moleste...i really hate that. Then i use violence to a rapist if i get the chance..i dont hurt anybody else, but i cant just know about a rapist and let him just walk around with no punishment. Some know that they wished they never did what they did,and i feel good about knowing i gave a message that ruined 2 ore 3 peoples life because they raped someone i care for..does that make me a brutal violent guy...no,im polite and im nice to good people, but it made me a criminal guy doing time.i just did a good thing, and then im becoming a criminal..i think it saved others from the 2 predetors.my point is that im so pissed about all the rapes and that its so common.

She's proud of her writing, we're proud of her writing, her singing and her being herself. I remember the song No Need To Argue was one where her voice gave me deeper shivers than the other songs. Their music videos are hard to forget (like most 90s videos, good times) She had every right to scream she was a queen. She's a fuckin queen.

I think the thing is, a lot of people nowadays don't understand that she genuinely had untreated mental health issues, she was bipolar, anorexic, had substance abuse issues, and a huge amount of repressed/untreated trauma that she funneled into the creating the art she gave to us, ultimately. We all lose our cool, and it's incredible she was so kind and did as much without drama before her death. I think that should be applauded.

  • @themissingmile

She wasn't perfect. None of us are. But her music and the intention behind the music was perfect. Her priorities in life (family) were truly admirable. She consciously let go of the potent creativity of an angsty, depressive state, to fully embrace positivity and light brought on by her marriage and pregnancies. Unfortunately, at the end, I can only presume she felt let down after all the effort she put into her family life. Having to confront the abuse she suffered could not have been easy without the support of her ex. I think one lesson we can all draw from this is to create absolute happiness from within instead of relying on relative happiness that other people or material things bring to us. That is not to say that we should love less but on the contrary, we should love deeply with complete awareness and understanding that CHANGE is the only thing in life one can be assured of. Children will grow up and pass on, a spouse may grow apart and pass on, a parent will pass on, money may come and go, but at the end of the day we can draw absolute happiness from how we live and love fearlessly till our very last breath.

    • @zenmacrobiotics4843
      @zenmacrobiotics4843 7 лет назад +11

Wow, how rare it is to run across a comment where one fully comprehends the difference between "relative" happiness and "Absolute Happiness". Other key words like "material things", "complete awareness", "change", 'money comes and goes' and "love fearlessly" were all an added bonus. Good Karma for you.

themissingmile....She really left a great musical heritage, and all her songs are coded, but like the songs of Michael Jackson and many other artists and musicians....
      (read attentively Zombie's Song)
...But you see (as See and Understand), it's not me (not Present human appearance & Characters)
It's not my family (Genus, Race, Colony, Kin)
In your head, in your head (the influence of a foreign internal organ on the work of the head, brain), they are fighting
With their tanks, and their bombs (The presence of enmity and the attractiveness of war actions in the thoughts of a sinful man)
And their bombs, and their guns
In your head, in your head they are crying
In your head, in your head
      Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie (Sin's Commands)
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh (Zombie's Effect)
Another mother's breaking (Each & Next Tragedy)
Heart is taking over (a sinful heart has taken to its account, send to head)
When the violence (Atrocity, Enmity) causes silence (Grief)...
We must be mistaken (all born from vicious conception, with a defect, with a Sin inside which is in the heart, he moves in the infected semen, the sperm becomes brackish with the acetic, smelly smell, like the sweat of a sinful, fallen, punished creature)...
The Holy Bible, to Romans №7 (15-25)…
...Sin is inside of each body. Name of this Body Punisher, in medical terms is an Atrioventricular Node and His rear part Sinotrial Node (SIN).
The Soul is the Heart's Electricity, after the Feat of Christ, all fly to Heaven (Planet) ...
      Bible, Matthew №15 (19)...
... for out of the heart come evil thoughts (to Head, Sinful Intellection Commands, Zombie Effect), murder (Wars), adultery, sexual immorality (Wicked & Frequent Сompulsory Reproduction, Vicious Conception), theft, false witness, slander (even different language and abuse, scolding language, criminal communication style, prison talk). 20 These are what defile (indeed Сontaminate, Corrupt,Pervert) a person.

Well despite the shock "Zombie" was the first song I ever learned to play around 10 years ago and started a wonderful life in music for myself so thank you.I can't say thank you enough for a great childhood of hearing your songs in the 90's when I was a kid. I hope you found that dimension we're all secretly looking for.

Dolores' X was the manager for Duran Duran. She had a boyfriend also a musician, who she preformed with. She was in London to record a cover of "Zombie" when she died. She with have a Catholic funeral with her priest and archbishops celebrating her life, the mass will be broadcast over local radio. She will be buried next to her late father.
A tribute from Delores' band mates "The song has ended but the memories Linger on".

Dolores, Thank You for Living- In this world of today you were my go-to girl to get in touch with my feelings and get my anger out. Just by "listening to your band's music"you have saved me from a lot of lost friends, because when I get mad I tend to throw "everything" at the person I am temporarily mad at, which leads to ended relationships with a lot of people. You saved me those friends by being able to blast "The Cranberries" music for an hour and seemingly all my madness and angst would be gone. In a sense, you took away all of my hate for other people around me, balled it up,and threw it away. Therefore,I could get as mad as I wanted to, and never hurt anyone's feelings and I would still have a friend the next day. All without them ever knowing how mad I got, unless I chose to tell them. You have been a long-time friend to me and my long-lost triplet/twin- my sis Jeanne turned me on to your sound, So, please tell her I said "hi" and I am figuring that I will stay here about 10 more years, then I will be up there to party with you both. So write me a song d send it to me so I can make a bunch of cash to live happily til I get to see you two again. Thanks again and I Love Both Of You Guys's Spirit. Til We Meet Again-Mi Gweitch

Some years ago my buddy was hired to paint her home on Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada. She was wasted drunk all the time and abusive. She kept changing the paint colour every time a room was finished. The crew kept painting over and over until somebody intervened and O'Riordan sobered up. She was in a deep rut at that time. She stayed mostly clean for a while and released some solo material. I would have been head over heels to paint for a drunken O'Riordan. Much better than a dead one. I think she was/is one of the most powerful female voices in rock but damn she lived a tortured and marvellous life. Heaven needed another angel so she left us...

I proud of you too Dolores... I wish i could tell her family the strength i found in their shining star's voice and artistry... I was 11 years or something around then... I was bullied in school, pretty usual, I was the weird kid, i know it's normal to be 'weird' now.... but as a pure moment of rebel and standing for myself for the very first time.. I stood in front of all those bullies and people that laughed at me... i printed out the lyrics to Zombie... and sang it to their faces.... and then finished it with linger...because i was vulnerable and needed to make friend.. i made friends with my bullied that day. Its a moment i hold dear to my heart and may have changed me as person. Idont know... But i love that day... I miss you Dolores.. it's almost a year now... We miss you and think of you fondly and celebrate your music. Thank you.. and see you soon dear friend and voice that still lingers and will cause... #ImAFoolForYou.
