A long time ago, surfing videos, I stumbled upon two girls playing in a store. It was "Long hard fall" at Union Music Store in 2011. Since then I've been hooked to Larkin Poe. Although the first "seasons" EPs and "Thick as Thieves" are the ones I hold dear, I'm really happy to see these girls getting some recognition.
A good friend of mine was a big fan of theirs and I didnt really pay them much attention..... until they started putting out those covers during lockdown and I heard their version of Bell Bottomed Blues..... Man, after that.... I was a fan. Best version of that song I've heard in decades. These ladies are proper music lovers.
Do yourself a favor and grab some tickets next time they come to a town near you. I missed out on a 2020 concert (rescheduled many times and finally played in 2022). I jumped on tickets for their 2023 tour, and it was an absolute blast! They're even better on stage!
In your words a perfect mix of tradition and innovation, love for the past and desire for new research. More than musicians, artists that make music!!🎸
All the guitar magazine producers must be hibernating.💤💤 Get these intelligent talented performers on your covers. I need to add them to my collection of L. Poe magazine covers
I wanna see your new custom slide steel. I remember, years back, there was a country guy who played a regular, dare I say "normal" guitar with a slide guitar angled off the bottom. Is your new slide somehow a variation of this?

Is it just me or is the audio pretty weird? Mixing background noise with their voices, sounding out of phase or something.
It's not just you.
Such a talented pair of musicians!!
