Fantastic job! Really helps me for my son’s car for a stereo and dash cam install. I wasn’t sure how it all hung together as I’ve never seen so few screws holding the trim together. It really is just a bunch of plastic clipped together. I should have pulled harder … except for that A-pillar long-nose plier trick. That was a blessing. Can i get a parts list? radio, wire harness, back up camera. I have a 2015 Hyundai Elantra G2 head unit looks exactly like the one you put in. I did this same conversion for my other car - nissan and found a great video on youtube that gave a full parts list. I purchased all of it and installed no problem.
Are you running a cable to the back of the car for the camera because it didn't have one and now does? My 2015 i30 does have a camera so I'm assuming i just need to connect the cable that is already there.

Sunil Sebastian Hey mate! Just because this car did not have a vehicle specific antenna plug. It just had the universal plug which will plug directly into all units. The power antenna wire on the harness should still be connected however! When the adapter is listed I recommend getting it, even though this particular car did not need it doesn’t necessarily mean all i30s will be that way :)

Also in terms of the power antenna wire, I'm getting the aerpro APP9PIO8 (when I type in my car details) which I think doesn't require any soldering, so it's just a matter of plugging into the Hyundai side and then into the headunit? Oh my goooodness! I have just completely f#%^ my factory radio. My son put coins in where the CDs go & silly me tried using a knife to get them out. Which then resulted in the radio shutting off 😭 this video helped A LOT! Can I be a pain and ask if installing a new head unit interfere with the sound system? Thanks!
Hey! So I've got step 1 and step 2 from aerpro connecting my hyundai i30 to a pioneer DMH-Z6350BT. Still a bit confused with park brake and vss. Both looms have the park brake and vss wires free (with connectors) but i can follow the step 1 side to the swc module. On the patch lead side of the swc module there's extra ground wires... does this mean I can connect the green-green and pink-pink between both harnesses and it will bypass/ground them?
VSS wire can be connected to the pink output from module. Park brake wire just ground it other wise your life will be a living hell trying to use CarPlay without being stopped

Hey! thanks heaps for the vid, I'm getting more confident with the idea of attempting this - I'm keen on the PIONEER dmh‑z6350bt I'm looking at the USB retention - aerpro has given me two options - the one closest to what looks like you used (APHYUSB4) but it has one black and one red wire - where am I supposed to plug these in to? the other option is the APHYUSB6 which looks more plug and play - but would I lose AUX function with that?
Hey man. If your USB port is the same as the video you’ll need the APHYUSB4. However it’s been revised now and is 100% plug and play :) worst case you get the old model upon ordering and they’re just illumination and ground

Great video, one of the most thorough and clear one I have seen. Do you know if there are Android auto infotainment system that goes on top of the dashboard, I guess replacing the original dashboard top. I would love to upgrade my i30 but I feel like having the screen in center panel is to low I would rather have it further up so that I don't need to take my eyes off the road when following the navigation and just need to a glance at it
Awesome work mate. 100% you saved me breaking something when popping the trim. I do have a query: Have you ever installed the Sonly AX-5000 in a Hyundai i30 2014? I'm getting odd behaviour with the steering wheel controls. They sometimes detect as a different button. Might work for 30min then start to play up. I have replaced the CHHY9C module and now the head unit. I also just switched Dip Switch 4 to off on the steering wheel control. Just wondering if you have done any installs and hit the same problems? Not sure of this is a compatibility issue.
Hey mate! Thank you. Try going into settings > steering wheel control > custom and then set them individually. You might also need to try this process with other dip switch settings. I’ve seen it before and this is the solution As the unit will now hold memory for swc learning
@@TheFittingBay Thanks for the quick reply. I should have mentioned that I used the custom setting for steering wheel controls on the head unit. I had two scenarios when programming the controls: 2 buttons were detected as the same when attempting to program OR they would all program to the respective buttons with no buttons detecting as the same, then part way in the trip some buttons would change to other functions. I will see how it goes with the dip switch changed as per Aerpro recommendations for newer Sony Radios. Aerpro didn't have detailed specs on each dip switch. I only found that they had Dips when reading details on the patch lead APSONYPL. Thought they might put that info on the CHHY9C. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Mate fantastic video. Thank you. Just installed the Pioneer 5350 into the wife’s i30. All went well using aerpro harness except for the one video retention. All wired correctly I believe, image appears when engaging reverse, BUT as soon as the car moves backwards the image goes black. When I stop the image appears again. Any suggestions would be very helpful Cheers

@@asnail100 Yep that is right! All plug and play with this setup :). APA47 should be the correct one. The APA64 is for a different purpose :)

6.8 seems to be the standard. If you have a factory satnav the after market 6.8 will be slightly smaller as the factory satnav is quite large.

It is! But not on this car as we added an aftermarket camera :)
