Ian Bell is one of the most technically gifted players England have ever produced. And when he's on song, it's a delight to watch. He plucked every shot straight from the textbook in his glorious 235 against India at the Oval.

As a Kid: this guy can't hit six
As an Adult: this guy is a genius.
Yes when I was a kid my thought process is also like that
I would rather watch ian bell's elegant drives than Gayle's sixes. Man, he is such a treat to watch.
I don't know, I can watch both just as easily. I prefer style over slogging, like most cricket fans, so with you there, but I would also never classify Gayle as a slogger. There is an art and a skill to hit as far and cleanly as regularly as he does, no doubt aided by his physical size and strength. He also has two test triple centuries, which speaks to a high level of concentration as well. Bell is stylish no doubt, though. Funnily enough their test averages are almost identical. 42.7 for Bell and 42.2 for Gayle.
@@chapmcchap2919 true that
Gayle sixes are elegant...you should say Glenn Maxwell
@@chapmcchap2919 Gayle has 2 triple centuries in tests! Chris Gayle is the dad of Ian Bell. But yes Ian Bell was technically a brilliant player. He was awesome in the eyes. But I always felt Gayle was consistent in all 3 formats.
Still Gayle averages more than this man in SENA countries in tests as opener.
I went to middle school with him and played junior Rugby with him. Was a good mate. But even back then we all knew he was going to be a great batsman. He was also a pretty decent footballer as well. Was normally the winner of one touch, one bounce. Didn't grow that much though!!! Plus because we have the same first name we were referred to by our surnames. And mine ain't that great!!!!
Grubb is an excellent last name no one will forget u mate
👍
Ian Grubb i m big funn bell
Really
yes bro
The most naturally gifted England player of his generation.
I don't know... Pieterson was pretty talented too
Don’t use natural
@@JY-ev5ms but he has behaviour issues
@@ani-po1td He also wasn't english.
Alastair Cook and Kevin Peterson were more talented.
Cook is probably the most talented English batsman ever.
Golden age of England cook Strauss as opener bell pietersan and trott as middle order swan as spiner Anderson and broad as pace bowler
Yea in test but in odis they were worst side at that time
@@luckybhai4261 2012-13 they were ranked the best team in the world with Cook, Trott and Bell playing. they failed to adapt well to the increased run rates but for totals below 300 they could certainly play.
Abuzar Nizamani and now it’s pretty much the other way round
early raite
Strauss is a fool
J bairstow is better than him atleast 😂
During this series
3 England batsmen have scored double centuries
Bell, Pietersen, Cook.
This was probably one of the disastrous away tours for Indian team
Not even in one Test did our team gave fight. Especially after winning world cup.
Yeah, that surprised me. They came here as the best team in the world but then lost 4-0 in England and Australia in succession.
But a year later they had their revenge against Australia, drubbing them 4-0 to return the favour. It was a strange era. England, India, South Africa and Australia all won The Mace but couldn’t keep it for long because Post Ponting, none of the big teams could win consistently away until South Africa went on a run for a while the year after.
Easy on the eye. Such a joy to watch. England should recall him.
Couldn't have won the 2013 Ashes without Bell. Such a great player
So true. Thanks. And a quiet modest guy too
Correct make 3 hundreds I observed one thing in England for test cricket also always stadium use to be houseful compare with other countries
Most aesthetically pleasing batsman I've ever watched. And that's not bias, my favourite batsman or bowlers off all time aren't English. His technique was perfect. Players can play shots as good but no better.
Not a bad choice. Up there with Mark Waugh, Saeed Anwar, Marvan Atapattu, Damien Martyn and Hashim Amla.
Ian Ronald Bell ❤️ Very classy player.
I love his Off side *cover* *drive* ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍
Cover drive is always played on the off side.
Virat Kohli - The run machine
Thanks brother 🙏🏻 i love watching cricket,i don't play cricket.my knowledge is limited.thanks for good information 🙏🏻
@@rckyd8919 sorry I was a bit arrogant there :D
Ricky D who doesn’t? Best in the business
Well i prefer his leg side cover drive
The blue scoreline graphic streams down a good lot of nostalgia ♥️♥️
Love Ian Bell. The most beautiful English batsman I've ever had the pleasure of watching.
Ian Bell's Cover Drive.. the Beauty ever💙
Balls angling in and out still getting at the middle of bat
Pure class and talent
This partnership is the literally the reason I started playing Cricket
He is so classic, typical, elegant outstanding stroke player. Can watch him all day long
Ian bell was one of the best ever English players. The most beautiful ever
Ian bell scored most runs in tests and Odi against 2 strong opponents India & Australia. 😍👍
A GREAT / CLASSY PLAYER ❤️❤️
Ian Bell is by favourite batsman after Dravid. Extremely elegant !
One of the best batsman English cricket has ever produced, treat to watch❤️
Bell is still in form in natwest t20 blast. He is one of the top scorer in natwest t20 blast 2018. 👌👌👌
Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Matthew Prior, Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook - classy line - up!
Where's Bell?
@@adhithya2906 oh yeah! Forgot 😅
@@samirpaul3909 Ollie Pope can be his successor
Lost to india at champions Trophy 2013 final at their home ground. This was the squad bro 😂😂
@@sambhavkumar4150 final me pahuchna bhi kam bari baat nahi aaj kal to india semifinal me bhi pahuch nahi paa rahi
The most pleasant batsman I have ever watched after Rahul Dravid. Good against swing, played spin well, and scored a lot of runs because of his rock-solid technique. In my opinion, he was underrated because he played with Kevin Pietersen, Alastair cook, and Michael Vaughan. I expected him to lead the English team after Cook's retirement, but ECB had other ideas.
I watched this news that yesterday ian bell scored 235 runs in newspaper ..when i was in 8th standered and after 8 years im watching this video on RUclips ...... Very spacial movement for me ....such a legendary player..
No movement moment hai chutiye
@@zaidizaidi3031 🤣🤣
Sreesanth's Swing was Unbelievable those days , Btw .
We were so lucky to have such a technically beautiful batsmen like Bell could watch him bat all day
Bell way batting is just amazing who agreee with it
He should play 5th test at Oval
@@slimshady9703 , ab india ki gaand maar raha hai england , apni gali main kutta bhi sher hota hai
No he shouldn’t, you moron
@@saoirsedeltufo7436 why fool?
So you should play?
@@mohsinmehmood9537 how many defeats you want from India lol 😂🤣😹
Love how casually KP caught up to Bell in terms of score.
An Ian Bell innings is one of the most beautiful sights in all of sport.
Bell was a wonderful timer of the ball he did not have or need power it was all timing and placement. Even in the short space of time since he left the test match team the game has changed and perhaps the only player in the current England side with his timing talents would be Joe Root.
Aww! Look at those shots! One of the best batsman english cricket produced
Pure class. Why isn't he back with England? Put him back at 3. What a player.
Such a great player he is...
This is so good to the eyes
Beautiful. His cover drive was a beautiful treat to watch
Such an Elegant batsman
Sheer class from bell. One of England's most talented batsman
When I look back that time It look very ordinary , frustrated , depressed fast bowling line up india have but now india have most killer fast bowlers ever
@bunny true
Best driver of the ball I've ever seen.
One of the classiest batsmen I've ever seen.
This was the time when cricket was very very different from baseball!!!!!!
I was in 3rd standard when I watched this match wow memories 👌👌👌☺️☺️☺️times flews only Dravid was able to score from.indian side easily.
His batting style was eye-catching.Great to see, pleasure to watch. He was a great i think
I like the old players in england batting team Ian bell, Jonathan trot, Kevin pietersen , Andrew Strauss, Matt prior quality batsman
Such a wonderful player to watch
Magnificent, classical bat. I’d love to be coached by Belly. Makes batting look beautiful and so simple.
What a beautiful innings
Underrated star 🔥
Ian Bell announced his retirement yesterday and this popped up on my feed today. How fitting.
I miss this little era when Cook, Trott, Bell and Pietersen were all averaging around 50 at their peaks. What a top order!
One of my favourite England batsmen of all time along with KP and Freddie
The 2005 Ashes memories!
Pure classic bstsman😍😍
Pure class ❤
sir bell is my all time favourt
He should come back what a stylish player
I wish he will come back in international matches. I think hope is still alive for him👍
No one plays cover drive like bell ❤💯 joy to watch bell
I'm biased by being an England fan but Bell is easily my favourite player to watch when playing well. I think that it's a real indication of how easy he could make the game look that he finished with an average over 42 and many still talk about him as though he was a failure. That average doesn't mark him as one of the greats but the way he could play at times suggested that he should have been. If you were to watch just a little of Bell and Steve Smith, I'm sure that you'd think that Bell was the one averaging 20 more than the other. Just goes to show how much of a mental game cricket can be. Regardless, Bell was a fine servant of England cricket, having all but won them one of the home Ashes series with several centuries in the series.
Ian Bell was my favourite English batsman. It was pure joy to watch him !
Bell has troubled India many times. Nice to Eyes, Tough to heart as an Indian
Ian Bell is also a best English cricketer
What do you mean also
Silk and smooth Ian Bell
A legend in his own right.
One of the Most classy batsman
Very well playing Sir Ian Bell
Love you batting
England hope is Ian bell
Ian bell deserves to come back into the England side, at least for the rest of the career, he has been the highest scorer in England this season and deserves to come back, what ecb done with his career was not fair and not right he should come back to the England side and play on the winter tour
I hope bell makes comeback to the England cricket team after Alistair cook's retirement 😃😃😃
hari jha convenient that they’ve JUST uploaded this? Hmm
Best English batsman to watch, excellent technique
Ian bell genius gifted batsman

I like his excellent, nice batting skill and beautiful cover drive. From India ❤
Super hit bell
Most emerging player
Well played
The best players make it look simple & easy
Scored hatfuls of runs, and looked classy doing it. The kind of player you imagine yourself looking like when you're hoiking it about in the nets or the garden.
Easy on the eye what a wonderful batsman 🤩🤩😍🤩
I'm an Indian. But Ian Bell is my favourite English batsman. His batting style is very nice and peaceful. His cover drive shots are very different and cool. He is a perfect and peaceful batsman. I think Ian Bell's batting style looks like Rahul Dravid. 😊
One of the best a lot of people didn't rate him but i always did
Nice editing.
Legends never retire
So beautiful!!!!
Class act.
Classy player, wouldn't mind if he got recalled to the test team, seems to be pumping out runs at county level.
Dominick McOmish not really, and it’s only Div 2. One big score against the bottom team in the division isn’t worth a call up
@@saoirsedeltufo7436 And why they called Moeen then?
Amol Amrit a double hundred and 8 wickets in the match against Yorkshire. Plus 8 wickets in the match before that
Amol Amrit he scored big against teams other than Glamorgan
Great to watch
Miss you Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott.
Ian bell England🏴❤️😍
Rodney Marsh said Bell was the most technically gifted player he ever coached at youth level. That cover drive is a beautiful as it gets.
most beautiful to watch
Very good batting
He was runout when his score 20,
But dhoni recall him for bating later he shows his classic innings.
That was different match
Different match, he had scored over a century and added another 22 runs after he was recalled by India after lunch
One of the best English cricket player
One the beat middle order batsman for england cricket
Superb. I remember groaning with ecstasy at some of his cover drives. My wife thought there was something wrong with me.
