My top 3 worst RV parks: 1) RV park in Toney Alabama. It was abandoned trailer park. They tried to turn it into an rv park. Just a field full of weeds. No amenities. Loose bit bulls running around. Super creepy. 2) Canyon West rv park in Kingman AZ. Run down dump. Old run down trailers. Timothy McVeigh's trailer is still there. Nuff said. 3) pretty much any rv park in bullhead city AZ. Lots of run down rvs. Lots of drugs and criminal activity. Had a shooting right outside my rv in the middle of the day. Homeless people living under rvs.
Happy and wonderful new year. Thank you for your awesome videos. This year, I'll be at the Tampa RV Show. Maybe we will get to see each other. Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you! We have to meet! Our meet and greet is on Friday at 1 so be sure to stop by so we can finally say hi in person. Or maybe we’ll see ya walking around. 😊
New to your channel. Saw post about positive RV videos, and triggered our interest. This video helps confirm why we have not camped in NJ yet after 37+ years of RVing. Will be looking at your past videos.
Happy New Year and thanks for the warnings on those campgrounds! We are heading to Florida over the summer, any suggestions on good overnight places to stay? We plan on doing the trip over 3 days, NY to FL.
@ You both are so down to earth and honest, it is really refreshing. We try and watch your channel as much as we can. We have a class B RV, but we still love watching your channel. Thank you.
If you’re ever in Montana, avoid staying in the town of Deer Lodge. One park is an old KOA, and I wouldn’t stay if they paid me. The other is behind a truck stop, and the spots couldn’t handle my 43’ fiver and F350 dually.
We stayed at Pleasant Acres which We renamed Unpleasant acres and were banned for life for talking to loud around our campfire. But next to our site was a seasonal which partied till 3am with loud music. That was 15 years ago.
Thanks for the list! Being retired and looking for side gigs, I can offer attitude at a lot less than $95, and you don't need to drive anywhere! 😂 Seriously, your recommendations, both good and bad, are appreciated!
Hey Izzy & MJ, we haven't camped in NJ yet, but this video inspired us to give you a warning. If you are ever in the St. Augustine or Daytona Beach, Florida area during peak seasons, you may find that many campgrounds are full, yet there are almost always sites available at Bulow RV Resort in Flagler Beach. We live right nearby, and the first two campgrounds you reviewed in this video reminded us of Bulow (if that is a clue about the quality). It is a part of Encore/Thousand Trails. If you ever find yourself stuck with no place else to camp, please give us a shout and we will help. Hope to see you at the Tampa RV Show!
Can I share a recent bad campground? We were in the vicinity of Las Vegas and decided to see the New Years Eve celebration. The only campground on the strip is the Circus Circus RV parking lot with full hookups. No attendant to help and place is in disarray with some sites with broken power stations. The bathrooms were closed I assume for repairs. They are two kiosks that you scan your ID if you prepaid online. If you have problems which are common you have to call the front desk which is a half mile walk to resolve any issues or to pick up gate keys. After I got myself situated, I ended up helping all the folks waiting outside the gate that were so confused with the system. We still had a great time after dealing with the frustration of this strange system.
@@philc.9280 I highly recommend Oasis rv resort. It's just off of the strip south of Mandalay bay. Gated. 24 security. Has 2 pools, a store and cafe on site.
Great video. Being from NJ we were curious about some of those. Thanks for the info. I do recommend the Beachcomber Resort in Cape May. It’s very well kept and is a family friendly place. The roads are tight for larger rigs.
What a shame! NJ has so many beautiful and serene places! When you travel west, I will add a NEVER stay at Falcon Meadows Campground (private) in Falcon, CO (near Colorado Springs). From a lying owner to an entrance through their gas pumps with a 12 foot clearance for our Class A to "taking" and paying for a reservation two months prior and not "keeping" a reservation (a la Seinfeld) to a site with no water ("full hookups") to a foot off level on EACH corner to noise to an abandoned building next to our coach that could have been part of Hitchcock's Bates Motel and more. I rarely leave a very poor review, but saw fit to make an exception in their case. Always enjoy your channel - looking forward to seeing you in the west! Congrats on your upcoming retirement!!!
For the worst camground, you have to try Norwins up in Lyons NY. It's everything you described. Owners with attitudes, mostly seasonal sites, some that are older than dirt, and loud campers on the weekend from people who are there only to party on the weekends. The bathrooms were built 50 years ago and never been updated. We used to be one of the quiet seasonal campers but left 3 years ago when we thought it hit rock bottom. We were wrong.
We were seasonal at Pleasant Actes in the 80' s -94. It was BEAUTIFUL! Family owned. Pancake breakfast, children put on shows , swimming g at the lake, animals the kids could feed and pet. Church services. I went through there about 6 or 7 years ago. It was a disaster. It was bought out and was packed so tight. Trailer on trailer. Sorry, I would not go there again. Its a shame. But maybe they changed since then.
Thanks for the reviews. Some campgrounds we like in NJ - Kymers for its splash pad and activities for kids, Camp Taylor for its wolf preserve and Sun Retreats Seashore in Cape May.
Valuable video, MJ and Izzy. Yikes! High prices and terrible conditions? How do these campgrounds stay in business? We always research using the Good Sam campground book and also do Google searches to read reviews, but even with that, sometimes reality doesn't quite match the reviews. We've learned to be skeptical of KOA's, they tend to be tight for big rigs, with campsites crammed close together and typically not that well maintained. You might think that conditions would tend to dictate price, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Snarky attitudes, however, are hard to explain! I recently may have been the cause of one campground employee's snarkiness - we visited Williston Crossings RV Resort in Williston, Fla., for Christmas week. When we arrived, I went to the office door, only to find it was locked! So, I jumped back in the coach and, already being familiar with the layout, headed for our campsite. Within just a few yards, this angry woman in a golf cart chased us down and lambasted me! My fault, I should have read the fine print posted on the door to call the phone number printed there! Anyway, it was a change in the rules that I wasn't expecting. The rest of our stay though was great, it is a wonderful, well-run campground that even offers free Christmas dinner to campers!
Thanks to people like you and other research, I rarely get burnt. Recently, I got suckered. If a site gets a bunch of good reviews and a couple of bad reviews, I usually discard the outliers. In this case, I should have listened to the two reviews that accused the owner of stuffing the review box. We booked for one night and ate the fee and moved on down the road. It's an obscure location that you probably won't make it to and that's Trinity Bay RV Park in Anahuac TX. If you read their reviews and look at their website, it sounds nice enough.
You hit the nail on the head. No one "visits NJ".. I spent the worst 2 years of my life stationed there, swore I'd never go back. This summer on our trip to Maine, we completely avoided NJ, and it's God awful tolls in the I-95 by going west up into Gettysburg.
NJ is a communist-run state. There's no reason for any non-communist to ever go there except to study the mental illness that leads people to put communists in power.
If you ever travel out west to the National Parks, WillowWind in Hurricane Utah was nice, clean level sites, quiet. No pool but they have nice laundry facilities, clean restrooms and they are close to Zion. A funky place is called Stoner Creek Campground in Delores CO. Small place on a creek, owner gives gifts. We got fresh eggs and pastries, and yes given the name you can smoke on your site but not around kids. Each site has a swing bench, fire pit and hummingbird feeders and a full sized very clean gas grill with propane. They also have music on weekends but the owner is a little crazy lighting the fire pit. They also have laundry facilities. We haven’t had a really bad place, some places showers don’t meet my specs so I prefer my own tiny shower and some are just a place to stay to see the National Parks but never had any rude people. I would say for us worst campground was Mt Rushmore KOA. It is an amazing campground but it is a family campground. Lots of kids, golf carts and large vehicles that make me crazy. A couple staying in the site next to us felt the same way.
With our experience in the last 18 years, sun resorts are not on my list. They are beautiful and they are well prepared, but they are overpriced. They use a dynamic pricing system which the computer figures out what the occupancy is and as the availability of spaces go down the price automatically goes up. They do not have a set price sheet. We typically steer clear of all of their properties happy camping and have a great new year. Thomyt
Seems a lot of the problems are others in RV's. Here in New Mexico, people manage their own trash. Many of the mountain campgrounds offer sites for RV's but no hook ups. No mess is left behind. The areas are without a piece of trash and people sort of get the hint here. The only problems are bears getting into an RV looking for food :) I spray mint oil/water everywhere and that masks any food odors. About 25-30 drops of pure mint oil per gallon keeps mice, bears and all else away.
Pleasant Acres is now Pleasant Acres Farm RV Resort and is still getting 2 and 3 star reviews (Campendium). Other sites, "would avoid", "find another campground" with one reviewer "its fantastic".
All of the "bad" places you said doesn't even come close to the horrible State Park in Illinois. It is Horseshoe Lake State Park in East St Louis, IL. They don't have a shower house/ toilet building. Nothing but vault toilets. Gravel roads with pot holes. Trash everywhere. The only amenities is an electric hook up. No dump station. It is basically a primitive state park.
Ugh - irritates the crap out of me when people just let their dogs run loose. We rented a private lot in Florida and in that tiny neighborhood, in about a week, I counted 14 off-leash dogs. When two charged me and knocked me down (with a broken shoulder), I let go of the leash on my Sierra (big black Lab) who chased after them. The neighbor then went off on me and called me a bunch of names. I told our landlord, who called animal control. Then we left... didn't need those people to see what states were on our license plates! I have never had a desire to go to New Jersey, and now...? Oh my.
Keep Driving if you see Woodsmoke Campground, Unicoi, Tennessee along Interstate 26! Beware they have trail cameras watching you throughout the property. No Southern Hospitality from couple that run the place! The first question we were asked is if we were married!😳 Told us restrooms were only for handicapped people, all others were to use their own RV facilities. For $54, we stayed 10 hours. Site we had was not easy to level, lot of low hanging trees. One way road in, very narrow. One way road out was uneven with potholes until you reached a paved section that took you to Woodsmoke Road and back to the Interstate. Never again!
Happy New Yeqars to you both. Ya, I worked for a company that would send me to Jawsey for a week every year and after the third time I told the management if they ever send me out there again I will quit. They never sent me there again. Rudest people, the whole state smelled and they overcharge for everything. Will never go there again. So sad.
Hi Izzy and MJ! I wouldn’t go back to any of those Rv parks. That’s too much money to stay there when they look a mess. I wouldn’t want you guys to go back to those either. Not for a million dollars. You’re too good of people to back to those places. So sorry to about that woman’s dog attacking you Izzy and MJ and dogs. I loved camping at Mount Zion campgrounds it was nice. But it was at least 8 years since I was there camping in the Rv we were in. I’m sure it’s still nice. We camped right by a river. I slept listening to it. It was in the summer. It was a great park. Clean too! I can’t remember the name of it. Thank you for the video and reviews on these campgrounds. See you soon!
We're glad you liked the video, and we totally agree, those campgrounds were terrible. We're also glad to hear you had such a great time at Mount Zion!
I have only camped in NJ at one campground, and that was Winding River campground about 30 minutes from Atlantic city, We went there twice and enjoyed it. It is on the Little Egg Harbor river and we enjoyed kayaking there.
Keep up the good work of exposing these horror shows of CGs. and of course, the overpriced nightly fees they charge. They have some nerve expecting campers to pay for low class sites!
There's awesome campground/resorts in Wisconsin Ive never been to a bad one yet Clean bathrooms friendly people just nice in general Worth the drive over There's some awesome state parks that are really cheap Devil's Lake is just beautiful Absolutely worth seeing Great place to hike Bands in the pavilion on the weekends Great memorable place
Not surprised about NJ. My dispatcher would send me into NJ a lot to where I’d have to spend the night & they just wouldn’t leave me alone. They’re nasty people. Especially when I’d try to get diesel for my rig. NY is that way too. Thank God I’m retired. Never again.
An RV park with a truck parts business? That sounds like my kind of place. LOL. I am a car and truck nut and love to scour junk yards but this park doesn't sound like a place I would want to stay at.
@@EndlessRVing By the way you'll find this interesting as well. I skydived with a lot of LE. Mostly sheriffs. And they all carry while skydiving. LOL. Weird eh? I asked one of em once, what are ya gonna do? Shoot one of us for bad skydiving? LOL
After retiring in the Midwest from California I found rv use is a different game . People leave their rvs parked in 1 campground all summer . Also have noticed lots of workers staying in campgrounds for construction projects . The owners like these people because it generates steady income . Places end up looking like a junk yard
The State parks in Sussex are affordable, clean and have stayed at various parks until the computerized system booted me out. Generally empty off season and you can have a entire park all to yourself. However, your only allowed forty night stays per year in NJ. And they could use the revenue. Ive stayed at horrible private campgrounds, run. I was tenting at the time and the rates went up from thirty a night to sixty. I now live full time in a camper at a wonderful, peaceful, very clean campground close to work and in another State. ❤ My camper. No pool here but farm animals, ten minutes to a Walmart and shopping... Pools ive found out, kids tend to use and they pee in pools. Great for the kids but not a adult. In Sussex i ran across a eldely woman living in a tent and was booted out of her trailer due to economic restraints. She cane down with kidney failing disease and never drank or smoked in her life. She expressed her concern that it was from the water at the campground. I noticed black above ground hoses connecting the water from site to site. She told me not to use the water. I heeded her advice. This elderly woman was given a few weeks to live and wanted to pass in her tent. You really have to check out a campgrounds hookups, septics, ... Is the site level or is it necessary to construct a alpine staircase to get into your trailer. How is the site maintained, graveled or dirt. Youll be sweeping out dirt from your trailer every day if the ground isnt maintained. Is your septic hose positioned to climb uphill because it will be unusable, crap doesnt flow uphill. Is the site winterized with heated electric water spouts and a receptacle for you to plug in a heater hose? Is the right amp service available? Management reviews should be read and talk to people that are camping on site for feedback. Visit the site prior to making a commitment. The prices have gone up, especially for larger trailers, moror homes. This is why I chose a camper. Easy to keep a small space toasty with heat and cool in the summer. You will find it extremely reasonable to operate in cost. Ive also noticed many families opting to using tents for mini family weekend getaway. They will lease out the site for a season and camp out with another family doing the same. There are long term stay camp grounds and short. A professional campground will seperate those that are short term, seniors and families so everyone is happy. Enjoy
Funny vid, guys. We live in NV and go mostly the boondock route (since almost the entire state of NV is BLM land). We're also fans of Idaho and Montana for boondocking. Arizona is also great for boondocking. I think your vid convinces us more and more that we don't want to go east of the Rockies. We did stay in Houston a number of times for medical reasons and stayed in an RV resort called Lakeview RV Resort. A really nice park - in a lousy part of town - ha.
I prefer state parks. One, we have spent many a time at is Mil Creek campground on Berlin Lake in Ohio. Having said that, last summer we stayed and had issues with skunk (not the animal) (Ohio foolishly passed recreational) lots to do in the area, with Noahs Ark zoo right down the street, on a great lake. Room for large RVs. Fits a 40-foot Aria with lots of room. That place is mainly with grandkids, but it's a nice place to just chill. Lake Erie has a few as well, and then there is WV. Ok, I'll stop. Lol
This is exactly why I quit Rving. Too many folks trying to live the "van life"ec. trashing up nice camp grounds. Most campgrounds look like homeless encampments now.
Our lake was green all year can not do anything about it unless you have plenty of money or wait for nature to take care of it, so that is a mute point
Haha NJ is awful.. we went for a wedding but apparently and luckily we stayed at the navy earl rv campgrounds which was ok but even the rest stops suck there!
Workers are growing tired of the full time rv lifers. We've had some come in at the store wanting be treated like dignitaries because they've been driving for 9hrs. Not our problem, they chose to live that way. Told them really quick at 1am can't park here. They were furious. And said it is their home. But we aren't responsible to help everyone park their homes. It's supposed to be for vacations for example, if you live in the rv, that's on you. Not hooking up here.
No worst place, but my advice when you start traveling further is to use public parks. State parks, national parks, national forests, Corps of Engineers, BLM. Even a lot of the local and county campgrounds, although you have to research them better, some can be sketchy. We've never had a bad experience in a public campground.
Out west where the sun sets I see this: older campgrounds cannot keep up with all of the regulations put on them. The people living there might be there to survive work and have a place to live. Rent prices has kicked them to the curb! I doubt they want to live like this but can’t change anything. Great video like it or don’t watch it SWAK
I have a help suggestion for when you tell it like it is honestly: start the video out by playing the Sound of Music and sing along😮At the end sing together Amazing Grace😂❤
I feel you should tone down how hard you push your channel. Seems slimy. We all know how RUclips works. Delete my comment if you wish, just giving honest feedback.
@@EndlessRVing I suggest you review your first video, while unpolished compared to your current content, your demeanour is much softer. Take a look at Ryan Twomey (500k), or Steve Wallis (1.6M), if you want good examples of being humble while growing a channel. Mav (2M) at end of the video says "if you like the channel, you know what to do". Thank you for your respectful reply. All the best to you and your channel.
My suggestion is be very careful about giving RV campground reviews. You don’t want to be sued because of a review. Even positive reviews may rub the campground owner the wrong way. You may be 100% correct about what you state but legal fees can mount up very quickly if you have to defend yourself. I suggest you consult with lawyers about liabilities, these can vary from state to state.

Jugtown! Ha! That’s actually a Great Location for a Campground! Right off 78! We lived in Glen Gardner and always wondered what it was like.
We stayed there years ago for a high school reunion! It was bad then. Definitely a choice of last resort!
Wow, sounds rough.
Great video. If critical reviews like yours don't motivate these crappy campgrounds to clean up their campgrounds they deserve to go out of business.
It's a shame some places don't care about their customers.
Oh my.
Crazy!
Thanks for the video.
The second one that was selling the truck parts made me laugh out loud 😂. What’s wrong with these owners?!
It was interesting to say the least lol
Yikes, sounds like a nightmare!
Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you too!
Good information!
Thanks!
Happy new year! How's the Tesla treating you guys ?
It’s amazing! Happy new year.
So sad.
We hear you, it definitely can be rough!
I'm interested in your opinionson folding camp chairs
MJ loves them and Izzy hates them. LOL
Keep up the good work of exposing these horror shows of CGs. and of course, the overpriced nightly fees they charge. They have some nerve expecting campers to pay for low class sites!
Thanks! We're here to help ya avoid some nasty surprises.
There's awesome campground/resorts in Wisconsin
Ive never been to a bad one yet
Clean bathrooms friendly people just nice in general
Worth the drive over
There's some awesome state parks that are really cheap
Devil's Lake is just beautiful
Absolutely worth seeing
Great place to hike
Bands in the pavilion on the weekends
Great memorable place
Personally I would never visit NJ for anything
lol we hear ya
Cape May, NJ is one of my favorite places
I agree, Cape May is beautiful! My dog experienced her first beach and first Christmas in Cape May.
We'll live there then lmao@@annegibson6072
I don’t blame you (and I live here). 😮
Yeah we hear ya, we know exactly what you mean!
An RV park with a truck parts business? That sounds like my kind of place. LOL. I am a car and truck nut and love to scour junk yards but this park doesn't sound like a place I would want to stay at.
I used to live in the No Star Trailer Park. LOL... It was an RV park for skydivers...
Sounds interesting! lol
@@EndlessRVing To say the least lol...
@@EndlessRVing By the way you'll find this interesting as well. I skydived with a lot of LE. Mostly sheriffs. And they all carry while skydiving. LOL. Weird eh? I asked one of em once, what are ya gonna do? Shoot one of us for bad skydiving? LOL
Try little mexico campground in Winfield Pennsylvania. We are family owned and not expensive or run down.
Great vid
@@tannehill91 thanks 😊
You guys need to go to SwayBay RV park up state ny BEAUTIFUL
Thanks for the recommendation.
After retiring in the Midwest from California I found rv use is a different game . People leave their rvs parked in 1 campground all summer . Also have noticed lots of workers staying in campgrounds for construction projects . The owners like these people because it generates steady income . Places end up looking like a junk yard
I think Indian Rock has become a/ the trailerpark for Six Flag Great Adventure seasonal. workers
Enjoy
If not for the smart weigh service, the sumpter campground would be at the top of stay away lists
Dirty Jersey 🤷🏼♂️🤣
Sometimes it’s just better to stay at the old Cracker Barrel
I prefer state parks. One, we have spent many a time at is Mil Creek campground on Berlin Lake in Ohio. Having said that, last summer we stayed and had issues with skunk (not the animal) (Ohio foolishly passed recreational) lots to do in the area, with Noahs Ark zoo right down the street, on a great lake. Room for large RVs. Fits a 40-foot Aria with lots of room. That place is mainly with grandkids, but it's a nice place to just chill. Lake Erie has a few as well, and then there is WV. Ok, I'll stop. Lol
Thanks for sharing!
This is exactly why I quit Rving. Too many folks trying to live the "van life"ec. trashing up nice camp grounds. Most campgrounds look like homeless encampments now.
It's a shame it's come to that.
We live in NJ, keep our motor home south in SC..we use it in the south. NJ is not an RV friendly
IMO.
Our lake was green all year can not do anything about it unless you have plenty of money or wait for nature to take care of it, so that is a mute point
KOA CordelecGA.
Haha NJ is awful.. we went for a wedding but apparently and luckily we stayed at the navy earl rv campgrounds which was ok but even the rest stops suck there!
Yes they’re horrible lol
Workers are growing tired of the full time rv lifers. We've had some come in at the store wanting be treated like dignitaries because they've been driving for 9hrs. Not our problem, they chose to live that way. Told them really quick at 1am can't park here. They were furious. And said it is their home. But we aren't responsible to help everyone park their homes. It's supposed to be for vacations for example, if you live in the rv, that's on you. Not hooking up here.
Can you possibly recommend a great campground on the Jersey shore south of Ocean City?
We hear Beachcomber is nice. We stayed at and really liked Travel Depot in Cape May.
We'll link up above. Doesn't link up above...
Thanks for the heads up, Izzy and MJ. I wonder how much those you visited in some time may have changed. 👍🏾💙🤍❤️
Would be interesting, but we won't be going back to find out. :/
@@EndlessRVing That's for sure!😂
Sun resorts might improve some things but then raise rates extremely!!! ;-(
Yep, we hear ya!
Most of New York is NOT LIKE New Jersy!!! ...You need to Upstate!!!
Yes, upstate is beautiful.
Omg.. i lived by sussex county in Morris! Never go there!
Ŝtay away from New Jersey😮😅
We do have some great campgrounds here believe it or not lol
No worst place, but my advice when you start traveling further is to use public parks. State parks, national parks, national forests, Corps of Engineers, BLM. Even a lot of the local and county campgrounds, although you have to research them better, some can be sketchy. We've never had a bad experience in a public campground.
Oh, yes, we will. We love state parks.
❤ 15th-19th of January 2025 Tampa, Fl RV show. 👍
It’s New Jersey for chrissakes!!!
no no RVing in NJ then
Bottom line is, don't go camping in New Jersey
Out west where the sun sets I see this: older campgrounds cannot keep up with all of the regulations put on them. The people living there might be there to survive work and have a place to live. Rent prices has kicked them to the curb! I doubt they want to live like this but can’t change anything. Great video like it or don’t watch it SWAK
I have a help suggestion for when you tell it like it is honestly: start the video out by playing the Sound of Music and sing along😮At the end sing together Amazing Grace😂❤
Go west
I would recommend staying away from the East Coast unless you miserable entitled people…😂
There are some of us here that are not that way. (And that's why we're leaving soon 😂)
I like your videos Please remember, only one person can talk at a time. When two people talk, I cannot hear either one.
Indian rock is sssssssooooooooooooooo bad...
Careful, you'll be banished from future campgrounds as a result of posting this...
I feel you should tone down how hard you push your channel. Seems slimy. We all know how RUclips works.
Delete my comment if you wish, just giving honest feedback.
Not everyone knows how YT works and every business promotes their business. Safe travels.
You guys are so negative about everything
LOL Did you watch the positive campground video?
@@EndlessRVing some people don’t get it 😂
@@EndlessRVingI thought he was joking.
I like your honesty.
OK i get it. Stay away from the northeast!
