Silvia, I’m so sorry about your kitty; it’s so hard for us when they get older. Sounds like you two are working hard to give her the best care as she (eventually) approaches her transition. Sending you all so much love. ❤❤❤
I've been collecting for a couple years now; I always research but at times find myself buying a deck that others love, and I just don't connect with, which breaks my heart (& my budget!). If it's very expensive deck, I'll wait 30d to see if I really like it & will it work with other decks I love.
I hear you! It’s so easy to get caught up in the excitement of a new deck and then realize it’s not right for you. I’ve been there, several times 🤦♀️ It’s part of the experience though 🥰
OMG! The storage! I hadn’t even thought of that. I already have (most of) my decks displayed on shelves where I spend most of my time while at home, incorporated into my sacred space, so when you talked about that I was thinking I have all of that covered. But then you motioned humidity…and-EEEK! I live in a place that has too-long, super dry winters, and warm, very humid summers. With my musical instruments, I’m worried about humidity control. Most of my guitars and violins are made of wood, which swell when it’s too humid, and can crack if they get too dry. Do you think cards would fare best with things SUPER dry, or would they be okay with a 40-60% relative humidity, which is the ideal rage for a violin?
I’m not an expert, but I’ve had a few decks going completely warped due to humidity and it’s not pretty! I think as dry a room as you can get it’s probably the best bet 🥰
I really enjoyed this video! I just started buying decks again after taking a year or so off. For my collecting, I keep a list of what decks I have. For bonding, I look through the cards and then read the guidebook. Once I sage my deck, I then start to work with it. I do like the piles of like or dislike, which I need to start doing. Also, I'm planning to give myself a monthly budget for decks, so if there's an indie deck I want, it may take me over a month to save, but it will make it that more special once I get it.
Sorry to hear about your cat, that’s really difficult. I’m not a vet but you could try Churu lickable treats to distract her. It’s a 2 person job though. Hope she gets better fast 😢
🙏😻 Thank you for the tip! It’s definitely a two person job so I always wait for my husband to come home before we do it. I think she’s getting used to it by now but it’s always scary!
Hi Silvia! So many very good and imp points you've made, I enjoyed this discussion. I resonate much with what you'v said about the decan card, I have a ruff one too, 5 of cups,.. I hope your kitty recover soon in best health🤗🎄❤
I still kick myself for not picking up the heart of faery for a very cheap price because I thought the shipping was too much (it wasn't really - lesson learnt!). I wanted to ask which shipping service you use to bring decks over that only ship to a US address? Have you used shipito? I'm sorry you are going through that with your kitty, it is a hard decision I've had to make before. My fur baby is at the vet currently after a run in with a dog - he's blind and we're waiting to find out if his leg is broken or what happens next (& other complications that have arisen).
Oh I’m so sorry to hear about your fur baby too!!! I hope everything is okay! It’s heartbreaking to see them hurt 😞 I use VPost as my parcel forwarding service. I’ve never had a problem with them in 5 years so I can recommend them. I know there’s other services that might be cheaper but I’m quite happy with them 🥰
I have totally bought the same deck twice. Oops. I need a better way to store my decks as far as an organization. How do you organize? Is it by publisher? Genre? I've still not found my best way :)
That’s probably my Achille’s heel! I tried different methods but none lasts more than a few months. For now I’m sticking to seasons but I feel like that one is going to change soon 😂
Not a vet, but have medicated many animals over the years. 1. Distract with treats (something that takes a long time to lick at); a partner is good for this, 2. Use a calming spray scent on your hands/rub on their fur, 3. Keep the fluids warm to THEIR temperature (100-ish for cats) and consider putting the pet on a heating pad, and 4. Change the location of the injection site every couple of times to keep the areas from getting too sore. I'm sorry to hear of your cat issues and am wishing for a speedy route back to health.
@fairlighttarot That's a really hard part - the accidental hurt. But you have to do it because you love her. You being calm and relaxed will help immensely in keeping them calm and relaxed. This is truly one of those "fake it til you make it" moments in life. And the more you do it, the easier it gets as with each repetition you'll get more and more comfortable and confident in what you're doing. Hang in there! 💜
You are a kind hearted person❤❤❤🐈
Thank you 🙏🥰

That sounds like a really nice and organised approach to collecting 😊 And don’t forget to have fun 😉🥰

Oh Silvia I'm so sorry to hear that your cat is still so sick. I hope you get some help/Advice about subcutaneous fluid administration. Hugs.
Thank you for your kind words! 🙏🥰

Can I ask : how did you did you discover the 7 of swords was your card?
It’s my Decan, Aquarius 3. I was born on the 17th of Feb 😊
