  • For the last few years Mazda has been on a warpath with awesome new models! Providing near luxury levels of build quality, while keeping things familiar enough that anybody can hop in and use everything correctly the first time! They aren’t afraid to get creative in the paint or interior color departments and it works so well for them. If you or anyone else is in the market for a new or pre-owned Mazda, please hit up Fitzgerald Mazda of Annapolis and ask for Jeff Shaver! Tell him I sent you!

    What’s up RUclips Family! Mazda is on a warpath with their latest models. With high quality interiors, the latest in technology, and powertrains void of CVT’s, Mazda can add “Premium” to their “Zoom Zoom” tag line! Don’t let the 227 HP rating of this 2.5T fool you. She’s packing 310 lb/ft of torque! With an incredibly effective, & capable AWD system, a beautifully calibrated throttle, and a trouble free 6 speed auto, Mazda is officially a Premium Brand in my opinion! What do you think of this 2024 CX-50 Meridian Edition? I’ll catch you in the comments!

    Stepped into a 2024 CX-50 about a month ago. Moved over from a 2012 GMC Terrain (sibling to the Chevy Equinox). Exterior dimensions are almost the same. In the interior, the GMC was a bit larger. I went with the naturally aspirated engine rather than the turbo (saved a few $K). However, the NA CX-50 still has MUCH more punch than the Terrain, which also was not a turbo. It's such a fun car to drive and looks great!

      The Mazda with or without the turbo just always feels willing to accelerate. They tuned the throttle and transmission nearly to perfection which is one reason it feels so much better than the GMC/Chevy. The GM vehicles have very poorly calibrated throttles and slow revving N/A 4 bangers in comparison. The driving experience between the Mazda and GMC, nearly incomparable. Good choice, enjoy it!

    That seat release is slick. I really like the leather seats too. Great review! I'm gonna use this to convince my wife to get one.

    How would you compare this to a Acura RDX in terms of interior noise at speed, ride quality and refinement. Had a advance RDX 2019 for a week and found it quite disappointing in terms of engine noise and road noise being very loud and very un-premium

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  7 месяцев назад +1

      This particular trim of the CX-50 has a pretty firm suspension. I haven’t driven any of the others. If anything it feels just a little bit bumpier than the RDX. But it still drives well and is very comfortable. Side note, the steering is definitely better in the CX-50. Much more direct and immediate response from your inputs. As far as road noise, I could be wrong but I think from experience the RDX is quieter at speed, but getting up to speed sounds better in the CX-50. If you go all out and buy either of the Advance versions of the RDX you get adaptive dampers which at that point make the ride an unfair comparison that the RDX would win by a landslide. It would also cost you at minimum $10K to equip the RDX with adaptive dampers so there’s also that to consider depending on the buyer.

    What happened to the details on the headlights?

    • @HKN_RealReviews

      You mean like, if they’re LED and adaptive? Both are true. I was more interested in showcasing how the car drove. The other stuff is easily found on Google.

    Does anyone know can the AWD system be turned off when not in use unlike subaru which you cant turn off when not in use😢

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  Месяц назад

      @@user-jo4en1zl7b no it can’t be turned off unless you went the fuse pulling route. The vehicles software will dictate how much if any power is sent to the rear wheels. In most situations that don’t call for all 4 wheel traction, it will operate much like a front wheel drive vehicle to save fuel and reduce driveline wear and tear.

    I just dont think the turbos will last all that long they need to come out with a v6 engine for the cx 50 that would have plenty of powerfor most people😊

    Idk about having some of the best AWD but it's a nice car

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  7 месяцев назад

      That’s why I didn’t say “the best” but Mazda does indeed make one of the best AWD systems. Look up some newer Mazda’s off road. Specifically the CX-5. With respect to power transfer, intelligent wheel braking, and a very active center clutch, there’s not many mainstream AWD systems that compare.

    • @BID4882
      @BID4882 7 месяцев назад

      @@HKN_RealReviews Even with "one of the best AWD systems" it is far-reaching. Not saying they make the worst, but definitely not some of the best AWD systems. Also important to note is that their AWD system is rear-wheel drive favored. Their off-road trims are also subpar and mainly aesthetic. Many car review RUclipsrs have proven this.
