    67 is the sweet spot for these engines. i believe irate actually tells you that in the install book.

    Sweet video. I plan to convert mine to electric fuel when I rebuild the engine. I do want two 38 gallon tanks though for long runs. Just haven't needed to do the rebuild yet still a daily at 405k miles

    I installed the spectre 38 gallon tank on my 97 about 2 years ago and put the sump in the left front corner of the tank, that way it has a little bit of protection from the axle tube and isn't quite as low. I shortened the fill tube into the tank and made a fitting to replace the vent with a 5/8s line to the filler neck and a 2nd line to the new rollover valve and removed the tube in the middle of the filler neck. I think my initial fill was 40.1 gallons.
    I did the pump and fuel bowl replacement the year before. I used mark fuggazotto's kit for the top of the motor and made my own fuel filters and pumpS kit. I used the fuel filter primary and secondary filter bases that fit a ddec silver 8v92, and 2 Bosch 044s with a 5 pin relay to switch between them. Mounted that all on a plate on the inside of the frame.
    Other than the tank level the only thing that I use the factory sender for is to pump the front tank into the rear (tank selector is just to check levels, I sumped the front to a small auxiliary pump). I now have a minimum of 58 gallons available.

      Did the 5/8 lines help you fill up faster?

    • @cbmech2563
      @cbmech2563 Год назад +1

      @@skylarwagner1155 yes, that and eliminating the tube down middle of the fill neck. The primary thing is the vent line now comes up to the top side of the filler neck. I can use a large nozzle for a semi without having to hold it only on the first click but it is much better than it was. Depending on the pump I can sometimes use the 2nd notch but always the first. Which is always better than it was before. The vent line is a curved pipe brazed into the side of the fill neck about 2 inches down from the top. The roll over valve is fastened to the curve.

    Hey man I’m doing a build I’m stuck on the fuse tap part..for the trigger wire. on the paper I got with the kit said use 30a fuse?? I’m doing it pretty much the same way you are. but in my fuse box there was a 30a fuse in that spot? Soo what kind or fuse tap did you get??

    • @skylarwagner1155

      It’s a double fuse tap. So the bottom fuse is the existing 30 and the top you put in the fuse for the pump. Does that answer your question?
