    I've owned both Helix LT and Kemper Stage. Both pretty good beasts. Bought a Valeton GP200 for solo gigs and playing at home. After 2 weeks I sold the other ones. I've kept my Helix Native License, and I also use TONEX for amp cloning. But the Valeton GP200 is part of my main live rig now. Sooo happy with its purchase. The unit is so compact and "backpackable", especially considering the number of footswitches it includes. Firmware updates are frequent, and they listen to customer feedback! Can't wait for Valeton to get into the "cloning" stuff. Can't go wrong with one of these, trust me!

    The bigger 200 model is way more useful as a floor pedal board. As you select the preset, say, a spacey-reverby clean sound for Comfy-Numb, you then have the lower row of four pedals to swith on and off during the song, like a boost or distortion for a solo. I used my 2000-era Line6 podXT-Live that way until it started dying about a year ago. Now I want the Pod-Go, but I may get the Valeton GP-200 and save a few bills.

    Hey guys! I own a GP200, i see you're running 1.1.0 Software, but what FW did that LT have when you tested it/did the video? I notice that the GP200 has the movable FX Loop, and a pink and blue arrow icons in the effect chain screen, but i didnt notice it on your software screen. Did Valeton remove that feature from the GP200LT or is it just needing an update to get it? It would actually be disappointing if the LT didnt have the movable FX Loop.

    Software is nice for ease of use. But it's always important to me that everything you can do in the software can be done on the unit. I loved that about the Boss ME-80 because the unit alone has everything you need and mostly done with knobs.
    I dislike that the Boss Katana has so much, but very little of it can be accessed at all without connecting it to software. And Personally I didn't like the default effects assignments, so I had to connect it to a computer and go through everything.

    Sounds just as good as other brands at 3 or 4 times the price, really easy user interface and built solidly, there’s no need to think you’ve got to have a helix, axe fx etc cos this does it all pretty much and sounds just as good but there will always be the players that have got to have the expensive brand to make them sound great, really it’s down to how well you play and edit parameters that really makes you sound great.

      I always wonder if these brands do use the same chip set and software in their products.. I mean, to design and develop the hardware and software will cost a fortune for a company...what they do is use the hardware and software and mount it in an other housing then the competition...the quality of sound both devices are the same..

    • @kavinshanbhag3417
      @kavinshanbhag3417 Год назад +1

    • @vishalbhowmikmusic
      @vishalbhowmikmusic Год назад

      @@Za7a7aZ i think the same as well... I guess there are factories that make these things to the desired specs of the companies... So the component choices around similar price ranges i guess is more or less the same, or they cheap out in one aspect to upgrade another aspect than the rest of the competition keeping it in the same price range... These companies then contract out to freelance audio engineers or their own teams to tweak n program the softwares.... But i have seen that newer and up n coming companies usually put in extra features than their well known competators , i guess the underdogs aim for less profit margins to get themselves visible... But they sometimes lag behind in making their product look polished... Eg. I heard the IRs in MG30 are underwhelming and loading external IR make a massive improvement to the sound... But one thing that MG30 has which none of the similar or even slightly higher priced modelers dont have, is 48khz sampling rate... All others are at 44.1 khz... In paper its kind of a big deal as i also record in my DAW at 48khz....
      Once you go down the spec rabbit hole, it gets more n more confusing... I guess thats what makes us all Guitarists, we cant put it to rest...🤣

The GP-200 still sits closest to me. Highly recommend for such massive functionality and low price. Don't be put off by the (relatively) unknown Valeton name and snobs telling you you have to have a Helix or Kemper for Fractal. You don't. Unless you are recording uber pro tunes all the lower priced units are more than 99.9% need.

      Same here! Got mine for £45 used not a scratch on it and some great sounding FX, nice & small as you say easily fits in side pocket of guitar case, does a stonking job especially as includes looper, tuner & drum patterns (I don’t use but is there for people who need it) for the £45 I spent on it it’s quality and can’t really buy 2 individual budget pedals for that price. The GP200LT is certainly of interest in the near future, obviously would like a Helix or similar but no way life will warrant me spending that amount of dosh on a piece of gear that does a bit more.

      @@thedeadxtras9927 Exactly! Also Saw the Andertons video and they sound much improved and with the foot switches I need. I would like/want one but have too much gear already and can't afford it. Best Regards Brother!

    Impressive tones out of this. I mean the cleanish stuff and low gain. All these things do heavy decently but it's the low gain stuff they usually can't get.

    • @junkfoodeater
      @junkfoodeater Год назад +3

      Nope, Since this is a IR reader it is the high gain stuff with lots of white noise that usually is the problem.

    Sounds really good. Was there any processing done in the DAW or is this strictly the unit itself?

    I like that they have the fake names, like "SOLO100 OD", but then have "Based on the Soldano SLO100 (crunch channel)" next to it... The reference to "Eddie Van Hale" is fun too:D

    Can you save any loops? I am looking for a multi effects pedal that allows you to save your loops, like the old Line 6 JM4. I have the JM4 but am looking for a newer option. Any suggestions?

    I watched a video by a guy who said that Valeton sent him a demo pedal. He pronounced it Valla-ton, so I'm going with that.

    Inflation is crippling at the moment…… Lee says it was £229…. By the time I’d clicked thru to the andertons website, it had gone up to £249! By tomorrow these will be £500!

    For whatever reason this lite version sounds better than the GP-200(w/expression pedal) demo .. The only thing I was looking for is a nice "edge of breakup" slightly compressed clean tone ... wasn't crazy about the reverb .. but for $200 it's not bad at all !
