He showed me a gun buddy at the end saying because he has the riot gun buddy he can do whatever he wants and not get banned. I met a riot dev in a game later that week and asked if thats true, and thankfully it wasnt, but at the same time once a riot buddy is given it can never be taken back.
This is terrible, I’ve seen some similar stuff and I’m sorry it happened to you. Unfortunately sometimes people buy accounts or get and inflated ego when they receive the buddy.
If that happens clip them if you can and create a ticket on the riot website and link the clips. This work way, wayyyy more than just an ingame report and they will get a punishment
My crazy experience in getting a Riot gunbuddy was randomly moshing with someone with a Sentinels jersey and they happened to be a Rioter. Same mains as well.
You can also queue on the Sydney servers, there's a studio there who were bought by Riot last year. You don't need to top frag and you don't need to win. You need to be a good team mate and friendly - the kind of player that would be a pleasure to play with. Many rioters don't have RIOT prefixes on their names, and will only give out gun buddies if they're sure you're not just acting nice in order to receive a buddy. The purpose of the riot gun buddies is to reward the behaviour they like to see in Valorant. So being friendly and a good team mate (and being lucky) is the best way to get it.

Im not kidding when I say this but back in 2022 I got into an unrated game with a 4 stack, 3 of them were girls and one of them was a guy and all 4 had riot buddies (All of them had their names hidden & after the game I checked their names, and the guy had riot in it) . You dont need to get it ingame. The VAL discord has a bunch of devs if you just scroll down in the roles a bit. Thats how I got my buddy, I gave them feedback on a map to someone who designed them and they asked my for my riot id.

They can send it to you as long as they have your riot id, the dev I met friended me so he could see mine, but you could also receive one if the dev knew your id.

For EU people, queue Swiftplay on London servers early in the day (8am to around 11am) have seen loads of Rioters at this time.

Carrying the team gives people a better impression of you, though of course being nice is the most important.

He said each employee has a gift system. They can issue 4 riot gun buddy and 16000 VP per year.

They can send it to you as long as they have your riot id, the dev I met friended me so he could see mine, but you could also receive one if the dev knew your id.
You don't have to accept the friend request usually; it's just a courtesy so they can let you know you've got it.

I don't think you are close enough to any other servers, just queue your local one and be on the lookout
