Hello, I imagine that you know some people that took the dscke and I would like to know what is a good grade in this exam. Another question is if you have seen a change in the grade when people asks for manual rescore, did the grade changed in some cases? Thank you!
Hello doctor, a good Grade for DSCKE would be anything about 85. There are generally 95-100 questions on the exam and it gives you enough competition for admission for the training that comes afterwards.
Also manual scores are merely any productive. There has not been much success in any grade changes after submitting manual re scores.
Very informative video, which i have come accors after the thoughts of coming to Canada as specality dentist. So from the comments to few of question what i have understood is DSCK exam has be cleared and there is no definetive material to crack exam and then I have to entery DSATP which costs around 55,000 to 75,000$. After that Ihave to clear NDSE to practices as specalist. This is what I have understood. Pls help me if I missed anything. And what are the odds of cracking this I mean the percentage of people who could actually cracked and entered into training program.
Hope you will answerit.TIA
Hello doctor so you have got all the information correct. The passing rate for DSCKE exam is 85-89% at an average over the past few years and admission rate for DSATP is about 50%. And passing rate for NDSE exam is 95-100%. Hope this helps!
Thankyou so much for making this video. Also, how long is DSAT program? And is there a separate fees for that program?
Our pleasure doctor.
The DSATP program is a two phase program where it is 3 months of assessment and 9 month gap training program so about a year long. There are separate fees and thefees can range from $55,000 to $75,000 CAD depending on which University you get admission into.

Thanks 🙏
Hello, i completed my MDS in oral and maxillofacial surgery department from india but i applied for equivalency process through NDEB and sent my certificates. kindly guide me should i continue with equivalency process or convert to DSCKE process if yes, how kindly let me know. Thank you
Hello doctor, so we get this question a lot. However, I respond with one factor in mind. It is predictability. I mean to say that as a MDS and that too OS, I do not feel it will be difficult for you to grasp general dentistry and pass the NDEB equivalency exams however when it comes to the DSCKE, the passing rates are much narrower and the time it takes to prepare and pass the process is the same for both routes. So in my opinion and I emphasis that it is only an opinion that MDS grads should go through the NDEB general dental license process and eventually go through fellowships later on for OMFS and Implants to be eligible to work surgical cases. It is just more predictable that way doctor. Hope my opinion helps.
How long is the training program? What kind of program? Is there a fee? Could you pl elaborate on it?
Sure doctor,
The program length varies from one speciality to another. Anywhere from 9 months to 3 years. For example Oral Surgery is longer than Endodontics.
And similarly the costs for the courses are ranging from $65000 to $110000 depending on the university where you do the speciality program. I have pasted a link for U of T below for your understanding deeper doctor.

Hi, thank you so much for this video. I am wondering If I obtained a DMD and a specialty in periodontal in Europe. Do i have to take the Board exam NDEB part 1/2/3 first (or after) to take this specialty exam or I will be a licensed doctor after the DSCKE ?
Hello doctor, that is a great question. So the DSCKE route and the General licensing procedure are individually independent routes. With the three exams of equivalency, we can achieve the general dental practitioner license however with the DSCKE, taken independently, will grant you the pathway towards the speciality of your choice. You will not need to merge them.
Now I must add here that the DSCKE route is extremely limited in its acceptances to the DSATP program which train us to the desired MDS qualification such as perio in your case. However, most specialist dentist come to Canada and go through the general practice licensing then take up a fellowship in a specialisation. That is easier to clear and in the worst case scenario the applicant would have a dental license to fall back on. So the best use of our time and money in essence.
@@TheToothFactory Thank you so much for your reply ! it really helps me a lot. I do have a question regarding to this. If i do get a chance of getting accepted, does DSCKE allows me to obtain a board-certified license and practice in Canada for both General and Specialized ? or I will be only be allowed to practice for "specialization cases"
Absolute pleasure doctor!
And when a dentist hold a speciality license, they can practice regular general dentistry for sure, however, say we get our specialists licenses, then we will be immensely tied up with our referral patients that we will barely get to practice general dentistry.
My question is if someone has attained NDSE certification, can he/she practice as a general dentist?
Hello doctor, yes a specialist dentist is still equipped with the legal ability to practice general dentistry.
Hello! Thank you for the video, got a lot of my doubts cleared. I am an Endodontist, I wanted to know how hard is it to get into a DSATP programme?
Also, will we be able to obtain a student loan?
Hello doctor, thank you for your kind words. It is difficult to get into DSATP for sure as the seats are limited to singular digits only. What most MDS grads do is they go through NDEB’s equivalency process to achieve the general dental license and then apply to fellowships of their interest and in your case it would be ENDO. This is because we want to achieve a dental status first to begin our careers. The predictability of a MDS clearing the basic DDS licensure is higher for sure. So it can be something to consider doctor.
Generally student loans are offered to permanent residents only
Hello..could u let me know how to get study material or coaching for DSCKE.
Hello doc. We do not have any specific classes for the exam as it is speciality specific however page 12 of this link has some sample questions provided by NDEB and they also recommend to use the textbooks and articles from their own website as well. I have pasted below the link to the DSCKE protocol please do read through it and visit page 12 as well. And I have also pasted a link to several NDEB approved textbooks below:

hello sir, I have bds degree from india,is advisable to do mds if I have planned to move out
Hello doctor, I would come with BDS. As when you do come here, NDEB’s direct licensing or degree completion for DDS what may seem correct to go through. And MDS is not a requirement for that.
Hi..is this field open for endodontists from India as well? Someone told me dscke is not for endo mds.
Hello, it is open for endo as it fall under the 9 fields mentioned.

I have MDS degree in prostho can I practice just by passing nbde dctr
Yes that’s exactly the advantage of the exam to allow us to obtain MDS TO MDS license.
In Canada it is this exam route however in the USA it is called ADEA PASS where you apply for your own MDS residency, study for the duration and obtain the MDS license.
Is it easy to get into the training program?!
Not at all. The selection process is extremely stringent and highly competitive.
Sir i send u a mail kindly please check !
