So a board exam is for all dental hygienists. At the end of a hygiene program you will need to give a version of this exam pertaining to board certification.

Is it a good idea to do dental hygienist from India and then give exam in canada or do hygiene in canada? Which is better? I am an international trained dentist as well.. it is hard to find seat in canada gor hygiene.. so will it be a good idea to do hygiene from india and giving exam in canada or is the exam tough?

Hell doctor, yes we sure can do that however, it sill require your husband’s contribution of time because the notary that needs to be done to submit is supposed to be done in Canada itself. Other than that you can do it while you yourself are in India.

Hello doctor, a very good question. So I apologise, I should have been more clear. At 29:00, I displayed a “Resting Platelet” stage where when there is a vessel injury, at that moment there is a decreased state of all clotting relatives including THXA2 and THRMBN. However, eventually in order to activate those platelets something will need to change that. Decreasing prostacyclin will trigger that. Therefore, in a state where there is decreased Prostacyclin C becomes an indication for the liver begin the clotting cascade and for the hypothalamus to begin the arachidonic cascade. Eventually the Thrombin is formed in the liver and transported to the sight of injury, and theomboxane A 2 is formed and done the same. Those resting platelets are now woken and platelets increase. Hence at the beginning of that pathway, there was decreased everything which is odd and the. Body needs to figure out how to fix it and later it is fixed by keeping prostacyclins low and thxnbs go up in number. Hope this helps doctor. Yes doctor so we mentioned some basic prostaglandins and cyclins however, studies have shown that high doses such as 1000 mg and above can lead to ambiguity in blockage which leads to blockage of pgi2 and still cause bleeding and clotting ambiguity.

Hello doctor, so the article is definitely from 2015 february. However, we must consider the time it takes for new policies and suggested clinical practices to actually take place. Often it takes years to get into practice. This is the reason why a 2015 guideline is being used in 2020-2030 era. To answer your question, for all exam purposes, we use this exact guidelines from 2015 to categorise dental caries. There is also another classification which can be used based on radiographic findings also mentioned in that colourful chart in the article. so the stages and letters corresponding are used together. Both given in this 2015 article.

A similar thing is also in perio where the classification was from 2018 around and it is now being used in practice as it took time for it to come into the daily practice.

Hello, so that depends on your current residential status in Canada. If you are planning a Student Visa journey then I would recommend against the private college hygiene programs. However, if you are a PR and wanting to become a hygienist, then Oxford, Toronto Auxiliary and such other colleges are good options.

Good to hear and in this case, it does not make a difference. As ling as you have a registered license for Dental Hygiene, the employers are willing to train new staff. So your platform for achieving hygiene does not matter as much as actually being a good hygienist does. I used to work in a clinic where hygiene staff was a batch from The Canadian Academy of Dental Health (Mississauga campus) which does not offer an advanced diploma.

ahh, understood, apologies for the confusion. The endo perio lesions are a deep topic and we will be creating an individual video for the entire topic itself soon. Thank you so very much for your kindness and we shall continue to serve as well as can and we have recently resumed uploads so we will do our best to publish as many lectures as possible. Overall in the diagnosis of endo perio lesions- it is important to identify an etiology which begins as caries and follows through to pulpal necrosis and then periapical infection leading to infection passing through the path of least resistance. That generally is the sulcus. Therefore, there will bea radiolucency that leads from the apex to at least one side of the tooth to the gingival sulcus. "J shaped". Mobility and discomfort is generally present as well as non-vitality of the tooth diagnosed. In treatment, we do see endo (RCT) treatment first followed by 4-6 weeks of healing and then crown placement with scaling and root planing once the lesion has resolved periapically as well. We hope this summary kick starts a chain of thoughts for endo perio and we will soon place some lectures out regarding endo as well.

Hello, so normally we want to be able to offer the Dental Boards a prior qualification for a direct licensing however, in your case, you would need to approach a 8 month to 1 year long dental assistant certificate course. Each college, depending on where you live in Canada, will ask for some prerequisites such as biology course taken in your high school. If for example, you do not have that requirement already in your database, then they will offer an upgrading course for that particular requirement. Once that is completed, you can successfully qualify to apply for a dental assistant course and one year later you would be practicing as one.
