Thank you Rob for these tips. I have a major renovation coming up in my home, and I will write down all these guidelines and go over them with the contractor ahead of time.
@A Concord Carpenter. Hey Rob. Just came across your video. I only wish every contractor took dust control seriously for both the customer as well as their employees. With the OSHA regs regarding silica dust control, every tool manufacturer has solutions so it's up to everyone to take it seriously. It is about health. Hope you and your family stay safe and healthy.
Rob you're the best! I thought there was only one Mike Holmes! Love that you're making more videos lately! I don't care if it's just comparing shoelace brands. Keep em coming!! Thanks!
I so wish your boys did our home repair. I just experienced one of the sloppiest carpentry jobs. We had termite damage along a single 6m wall. When it came to patching the wall and sanding it the following day thats when disaster struck. Our large home from one end to the other (bedroom doors closed luckily) is now apsoluently smothered in a thick plaster dust and we're almost in tears. The guy said there is nothing at all you can do about the dust. He didnt have not one thing to filter or capture it, not even a barrel fan to suck it out the door. No bag fitted to the sander either. 2 hours of sanding over a two day period and we cant say anything because it was a warranty job from the termite company. An absolute moron!!
Really great presentation...you have thought of everything that has contributed to dust and best practices to prevent!
