Hey girlie, as someone who moved to nyc alone 2 years ago I highly recommend finding a hobby like social dancing (salsa, swing) or going to girls events like "Girl's who meet nyc." They're great because you'll often find many other transplants eager to make friends!
I just randomly stumbled upon your video and i must admit you are so full of joy and positivity that it made me really happy! your vlog felt like a warm hug and gave me motivation .....thank you 🥰🥰💝
Finding the right work/life balance is definitely something good to figure out early on in your career especially in this industry where there is an ever growing list of things to learn. Also don’t feel bad about not knowing things, being able to recognize that is already commendable. Once you gain more experience, you’ll be more confident in your own abilities!! Love your videos! Wishing you the best!
Wow Steph those transitions 🤩. You are very hardworking and enthusiastic person driven to learn in tech industry. I am inspired by you. Hello from India 🇮🇳 ❤. Keep posting 😇🎉. You always keep smiling that’s make me smile 😊
It's always relaxing to see these vlogs! I'm graduating this upcoming May and my life is probably going to look like this afterward, but I'm excited about the future and what is to come
15:56 It's so relatable, I'm also strugling with impostor syndrome. I'm on a second year of my bechelor's degree , my major is CS. I got my first job in IT, but I feel so stupid and that I don't deserve that job. Thanks, that u said that out loud, now I don't feel alone
Hi Steph, Hazel here, from South Africa. I've been following your content for some time now and I must say I love it! Congratulations on your new job 💃 I'm an IT graduate And It has been nearly a year without a job, but your journey truly inspires me to keep pushing forward. It's reassuring to realize I'm not alone in facing challenges with website building (quite embarrassing, isn't it? 🙊😆) Anyways, I hope you get well soon with your ankle ❤:)
hi hazel!! thanks for your lovely message! congrats on graduating with an IT degree- that’s awesome! the job search process is such a discouraging one, but i know you can do it! i believe in you! esp as women in tech, we have to go the extra mile which can be really tough. but i promise you’re not alone in it. keep on learning & working hard and amazing things are bound to come! (i need to remind myself of this constantly😭) best of luck with everything!!!💖
I'm not a morning person either, so I've simplified my morning routine so that after I get ready I still have time to sit down with a coffee (or energy drink if you prefer) and just eat breakfast while watching RUclips. I make sure I get that down time to wake up and mentally set a good tone for the day by doing something I enjoy, and I don't have to feel rushed because I already got ready! Then I go to the gym over lunch (for me I go around 10:00am or 10:15 at the latest, because it's empty at that time and my energy is finally in swing). Then I take two breaks throughout the day since I have a lot of hours left, and I make sure I walk around during at least one of them. I leave work right at 5, MAYBE 5:15 at the latest in order to dodge the first wave of rush hour. Unless you're working on something urgent or that will keep you awake at night, leave it. It's a tomorrow you problem. You don't want your work time bleeding into your free time because then you feel like your brain is on call 24/7, even when you're trying to relax or have fun. It can make it feel like you have no work life balance because mentally you're always at work. I hope this helps someone!
idk if i’m qualified to give advice on this since i’m pretty new to the field!😅 but i would say not asking questions. this applies to any field, but definitely ask as many questions as you can bc that’s how we learn :)
stoppp this made me smile😁 thank you!!! appreciate the kindness and encouragement! i’ve been feeling kinda crappy about my vids and feeling confused about what to even make recently, this gave me a little push💛
glad u made some friends since the birthday video , hope u wont be as lonely anymore :]
