- Sydney, Australia put on an extravagant New Year's Eve fireworks show to mark the start of 2023, and for the first time featured a rainbow waterfall off the iconic Harbour Bridge.
The show included 7,000 effects that fired from 184 positions on the bridge, with 2,000 fireworks launched from the Sydney Opera House and others launched from pontoons and four city rooftops.
The rainbow-coloured extravaganza included gold crackling and green glitter willow shells, with colours including aquamarine and magenta exploding into the night sky.

This was theTHE BEST fireworks show in the world! Thank you, Sydney Australia for all the effort and money it took to display such an extraordinary show! The continuity was spot on of coordinating the music with the fireworks and it took my breath away watching this. I can imagine how very exciting it was to be there in person experiencing this whole show. The flow of that golden river streaming down from the bridge as it spread across was stupendous - I have never seen anything like that. The way it concluded was really neat, and perfectly coordinated. I've been watching various fireworks show tonight and without question, this show from Australia was the absolute best one overall in the whole world, without question. It was so imaginative, creative, exciting, joyful, fun, perfectly coordinated and the conclusion was perfection. It made me feel the childlike wonder that something like this should impart. It doesn't get any better than this and I thank you, Australia, from the bottom of my heart, for making me happy, cheerful, and hopeful. London first - their show is more creatively and smoothly choreographed with drones and better music. Sydney still comes second though, but it just shows that quantity doesn't beat quality

I watched from my kitchen in Florida with a glass of Champagne and I MUST SAY, "BEST SHOW IN THE WORLD, BY FAR!!!!!!!! Music was AWESOME as well! Watching Sydney's beautiful fireworks from Montreal, Canada. Happy New Year to my family in Australia and to all Australians. Many years ago I watched Sydney's fireworks live, what a great show it was.

Sydney's show is always out of this world and delightful!! Myself being in one of the last time zones on the planet, Sydney starts the prelude to midnight spectacularly. The soundtrack by Stace Cadet & KLP is energizing too. I have been there twice, but I truly must visit Sydney for a NYE.
Sydney follows Kiribati and New Zealand as being amongst the earliest nations to experience the new day. Samoa is in the last zone. Sourced from the World's Time Zone map.

This fireworks display is huge it stretches for about 3 or 4 miles.
It's reported up to a million people on the shore and on the water are watching.

England and Australia went in!! Both were magnificent, London made me tear up and touched my heart with some of the themes, Australia was more fireworks, better fireworks in my opinion but respectively, Both had their qualities each to which they win in.
