    Thanks, this helped. I'm planning on doing mine as well, but will probably go an extra step and put better cushioning in my chair as my butt gets sore sitting on my current chair.

    Thanks. This was exactly what I was looking for. I had a chair once that I only redid the arms using old satin pajama leg bottoms. Loved it and for the softness too,

    It's too bad these chairs get junky after a few years! I wish the "leather" was stronger, or it was easier/cheaper to get them reupholstered. I see so many of these chairs left near the dumpster.

      I just stapled the original backing back on it to hid all the extra fabric.

    I would have picked a different pattern cloth for the chair myself. But you were saving money.

    NICE. now i know it is not going to be as hard as I thought. Mine had the PVC falling apart and flaking. I covered everything in black duct tape, but I had some old sheets around, so I will just dye those and start a stapling!

    This is the exact chair I have! I’m curious tho, how did you cover the back? Wouldn’t it show the staples and stuff?

      You wrap it just like everything else and then I just stapled on another piece of fabric over top. You do see the staples but if you take your time with the spacing and position it looks fine

    The power stapler tool that you are using seems to be very study, what would you recommend for a new user, with minimal affordable price?

      You can get a manual staple gun for 10 or 12 bucks... just make sure you buy HEAVY DUTY staples that fit the gun you buy

    Funny I have the exact same chair that has been flaking off the "leather" everywhere. I pulled it apart today and realized my staple gun is broken and the staples were too long anyways... Guess I will continue tomorrow when I get a new staple gun and staples.

    Do you think that some of the faux leather material you can find at Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabric etc. would work as well for a project like this? Thanks for posting, your video saved me from throwing out an old chair and instead I'll try to breathe new life into it!

    If the chair needs new upholstery, then it should also need new cushion material (foam).

      Not necessarily. Depends on the condition of the foam.

    Any suggestions for replacing cushions? My chair is DECADES old, the cushions are completely worn out and I unfortunately can't afford to buy a new chair.

      Your chair might be different, but on my chair there are 4 screws on the side that screw into the seat and backrest.
