    I just premix my water and titanium dioxide in a large measuring cup and then pour the mixture into my bottle with a funnel. It saves a lot of hassle from trying to get that powder down into the bottle. Plus you can mix it more thoroughly with a whisk or spoon. Then it's a perfect mixture before you even put it in the bottle. Time saver.

    Just a FYI - the TiO2 does not dissolve in water. It forms a suspension. Tiny particles just floating around which can presumable settle out and form a sediment if left.

    Great video. So this is a 2:1 ratio (2 parts water to 1 part Titanium Dioxide). I find that a great way to describe measurements so you can increase or decrease how much your making. Thanks so much for sharing this information. How's Noah's ears doing. Hope he is not having any more ear infections.

      +TheSilverLdy yes the measurement you wrote is right. Noah is doing good. :) His ears are staying cleared up!

    Thank you so much! I was wondering how to do this since I just got my first shipment of colorants, including my titanium dioxide. I have made 3 batches of soap without any color, and cannot wait to see what I can do with colors.

      Hi, speaking from experience just the other day, I added titanium dioxide and did not discount my water and my soap was very soft. So I would say yes. I hope that helps.

    Jen, are you saying to put preservative in the Titanium Dioxide, or are you saying use the regular amt of preservative in lotions and other non soap products that contain titanium dioxide?

    • @sarap8841
      @sarap8841 9 лет назад +2

      +sodachicnc She is telling you that if you don't use it up in a couple weeks bacteria/mold will start to grow so use a smaller amount so you use it up or put preservative in but you have to add that to your labels.

    Hi Jen, great video :) could you pre mix colors like that too, to have ready on hand, but with oil instead of water I guess right?

    • @BeScentedSupply

      +PinkLilly yes you can. :) the measurements is about the same also.

    • @pinklilly8785
      @pinklilly8785 9 лет назад

      Thanks Jen :) so the same measurements you used in the video you mean right? Is there one oil you would use to mix with over another? Do all colors mix well with oil?

    • @BeScentedSupply
      @BeScentedSupply  9 лет назад +2

      i use a oil that is in my recipe. :) so for me i would use rice bran oil. that way i dont add to the ingredients list for my label. and normally i never measure when i pre mix my colors but i would do 2:1 like in the video.

    Why is stainless steel balls added to the bottle??

    • @rsl9594
      @rsl9594 7 лет назад

      Biona Chettiar to help break up any clumps of the titanium dioxide to make it completely smooth. It's a similar concept to blender bottles for protein shakes that come with wire balls that help disperse and break up powders.
