  • Undoubtedly DK's biggest project of 2011 was the restoration of the Ferrari 857S #0588M. Our technicians worked tirelessly in an amazing nine months to restore this extremely rare car to perfection. #0588M was raced by the finest drivers available in 1956 amongst whom were Jack McAfee, Carroll Shelby, Richie Ginther and Masten Gregory. The car has now been reunited with its original engine for the first time since 1958. The reunification was only possible as a direct result of DK Engineering's expertise and passion. www.dkeng.co.uk

Thank you for this video! In 2001, I bought from photographer Tom Burnside , his original photo of Carroll Shelby driving it as #141 on Aug 19, 1956 at the Montgomery Airfield SCCA race, New York. He raced 2x that day, and won both times. The photo is signed by both Carroll and Tom. That photo is in this video. I have never seen a photo of this finned 857 online or in books ever since I bought the photo, until DK Engineering published its restoration. Thank you for telling this story of one of my all time favorite photos in my possession.

A sister car was sold for 22 million. I saw it up close at Road America. 410 sport with the 12 cyl. Also driven by Carroll in period.

Wauw, amazing videos. What a shame that the youth of today seems not to understand and feel the beauty of these magnificent Ferrari classics! Hopefully in the next videos the engine sound can be heard... I missed that here frankly...
