Thank you O2, i still remember the day I saw this advert and thought this song was amazing thus introducing me to Foster the people, 8 YEARS later they are still my favourite band EVR and I've seen them live. Their music has truly changed my life. Long live Foster The People!
This ad always stuck with me. It is just done so seamlessly well. Then you had the tune to it on top. Something very profound and professional to it that you don't even see on ads now.
Love the thematic UI o2 design at 0:09 on the phones interactive menu. It was, of course, used at various other points throughout the ad. Does anyone else wish o2 had their own OS for phones that used that design as it feels futuristic and timeless compared to the bland phones of today. This ad, although modern, (Pumped up Kicks was a great choice) still feels relevant now and miles better then anything ad related, o2 has released for years now. No effort on their ad's anymore or not to the extent that there used to be. You really notice when you see the ad's released in the past 7-9 years or so, for o2 and ad's in general all over the globe. It's sad really as o2 were once at the top for ad design, now, they are mostly soulless like most other companies in advertising today. Skeuomorphism all the way. Great ad o2!
