Currently using the Srixon ZX5 and I love it, the difference in my driving was night and day. Hit more fairways than I ever have this year. Loving it. #bigbadboomer
Using the Mizuno STZ now and it is absolutely perfect.. love seeing the mizuno ST range get recognition is deserves. Thank you for awesome vid as always. #BIGBADBOOMER
I just went from a Srixon Z565 to a Mizuno STG driver. Srixon was a bomber draw machine & the Mizuno is proving to be a piercing, low spin monster! Great video. Keep up the quality content!
I don’t see the appeal of PXG. I have trouble trusting them - first they’re supposedly a high-end, niche manufacturer that charges a huge premium, then all of a sudden they’re charging less than all of the other manufacturers? Something about that doesn’t add up to me. Makes me feel like they were always cheap, budget gear that they just made look good and marketed well.
#bigbadboomer. Just taken up golf again and have a Titleist 915 D3, never got on with it, one of these might be just the club, but I'd be happy with anything 230+ Srixon would be great
Still using my TaylorMade M2 (2019). As I've improved it's the club I've felt the least need to change. With professional guidance on my driver swing, I've adjusted it steadily down in loft to 8.5 degrees. I'd consider the Mizuno ST-G 220 when I'm ready - low spin and plenty of adjustabilities check the right boxes for me (plus the fact most of the rest of my bag is also Mizuno now).
I have been using a cobra L4v 460 9 degree loft with an x stiff 3 wood shaft and a bryson jump grip. Couldn’t think of a more mixed up club but i f****** love it 😲
I've had the ZX5 in the bag for a few weeks now. Not blown away with the distance but not too concerned as just wanted a nice looking and feeling solid driver. Love Srixon irons and thought I would give the driver a go and so far happy enough. That Mizuno is a beast!⛳🏌️💪🏼
Using the Srixon Z785 and love it. I'm a fairly new golfer at 53 years old and still working on swing mechanics but can get on average 280 yards total distance. Debating on a future upgrade though, that Mizuno or the Ping 425 Max
Great video. I currently game the tsi2 and find as a "friendly" driver I'm still able to hit the numbers that I use to get of my old low spin driver with a bit more control.
Subzero with an old stock shaft from a XR driver, cut 1/2 inch and led tape under the grip. Works well after some extra led tape on the club head toe to make it harder to close at impact
I'm around an 18 handicap off the short tees.. currently rocking a Cleveland Highbore XLS. Getting very good (for me) results. I don't love the sound but that is a very low priority for me.
Great video! I am playing a taylormade r9 for years and went to get clubs fitted a couple of years ago. Fitter said nothing out there better than mine....but this makes me think...hum!!!
I’m still rocking my Taylor Made M6 9 degree. If I were to change I’d be looking at the TSI3, SIM2, Epic LS, and I’d try the Mizzuno, why not? I’d also be looking at the Rad Speed too. I got a chance to hit a few drives with a TSI3 earlier this year and absolutely loved it, and it’d be my first choice!
I’m using a Titleist 913 D3 brought it when it came out love it, looking at getting a Ping lst, it’s one of the better drivers I’ve tried recently. Only tried the new Cobra and Ping since they’re the only options in my area
I usually don’t feel the need for the super adjustable drivers so I won’t upgrade my Mizuno ST-Z driver. I haven’t noticed any loss of length than other drivers I’ve used and it’s very workable and user friendly. So much that I also have the ST-Z 3 wood. In fact besides my lob wedge and putter, all the clubs I play are Mizunos.
I still play a Mizuno JPX900 driver, although it’s on its 3rd shaft. I realize it’s not the most forgiving on off-center strikes the trade off of shot workability and solid sound is acceptable. I just can’t get passed the tinny sound of Ping & Callaway drivers. Recently I decided an upgrade was due when I read about new ST-G, fwiw I’m not a Mizuno loyalist having retired my MP32’s a decade ago, now playing Muira’s, the JPX900, an ST 5-wood and 59* lob wedge are only Mizuno’s left in bag. The issue w/ST-G however is limited shaft selections. No offering of the Speeder NX. I was going to try the Ventus Blue and Diamana TB, the former is back ordered until Spring and latter is unavailable through Mizuno. To get my preferred shafts, I must buy the ST-G w/stock shaft then separately buy the Speeder NX for shaft swap. That’s $900 for new driver. I can purchase a TSi2 w/Speeder NX for $800. A premium brand like Mizuno needs to vastly improve their shaft options or allow driver head-only sales to certified club builders to be competitive.
Im looking for a driver at the moment, just started again and have built my new leftie set up to a 3 wood, really need a new driver to finish off the bag second hand market prices are only just coming down to a semi sensible amount
I'm still using an old Taylor Made. I have been trying to narrow down the next driver. Not brand specific just want what is my best fit. I need to find a dealer with these and try them out with different options. Spending that kind of money I don't want to leave any stone unturned.
#BIGBADBOOMER, I currently use KZG 9 deg driver and just came back from the golf shop where they checked my swing speed, ball speed, and spin. As it turns out I have a swing speed of 95, a ball speed of around 140, and my ball spin was in the neighborhood of 4k, which they said was very high. I am going back again and going to try a few different clubs and see what I can do. Great video as always.
Well I bought an STG220 and after 10 swings in the first range session one of the weights went flying. Mizuno's warranty department was useless to help, so that's my reason for never owning one again hope that helps.
I play a ZX7. Probably should have bought the more forgiving ZX5 but I tend to hit with high spin so went the 7 to try and keep my spin below 3000. Sound and feel are exactly what I like but sometimes I get the toey dipper or the big slice, but that's down to me being a 17 handicapper.
As an ole high index slow swing speed golfer I'm breaking all the rules using an ole Callaway 815 Alpha 10.5 degree with a new XHRZRD stiff shaft at 45.5 inches. My driver was built for better than average golfers with high swing speeds, but, I rock it. #BIGBADBOOMER
I'm playing a Titleist 913 d3. I want a Titleist tsi3 or that Mizuno stg 220. However I'm entertaining using the Taylormade 300 mini. It just feels comfortable to me.
I've been golfing since I was a teenager but never consistent and never had good clubs. I bought a used titleist 917 d3 and really like it, I should as it's the nicest I've ever hit. Gonna stick with it awhile
#bigbadboomer I use the pxg 0211 driver at 8° im off +1 for the money £329 I think I paid back in feb (cheaper now) for 5-7 yards longer are you willing to spend an extra £200 + that's basically 2 wedges that you can have on top..... Play St 190 mizuno in 3 Wood and that's a bomber too. Pete I think your one of the best golfers on RUclips I think you'd reach that 1m subscribers faster if you do a few course vlogs on local courses just 9 holes say and show the members how to play it. Great content and thank you for being down to earth!!!! Some love to balloon on RUclips but your SPOT ON!
I use the COBRA Speedzone driver but swapped the weights around as I found I kept getting a strange dipping flight which lost me distance. Since swapping the weights no issues and getting a lot more distance & no issues with dispersion. Good video showing that sometimes it’s not all about the brand name but what performs best for the user. 👍⛳️🏌🏼♂️ #bigbadboomer
There's always people asking why Srixon or Mizuno drivers aren't bought more, and it isn't to do with quality. It's more to do with lack of shaft options, loft options , fitting days etc. For example the new Mizuno driver is 9° only, so why on earth would you consider that if your historically a low launch player, rather than a Titleist, Ping etc
"Big bad boomer" Mizuno was heavy in the iron game and always had quality irons that even I loved. But drivers have always been an after thought and not given a chance. That's why these reviews you do Peter are awesome for the average golfer that always gravitated to the tiger, speith, rory, Phil brands
I have a Great Big Bertha driver and I have the loft at 12.5 I think? And I still don't hit it high at all I think I'm just hitting the top off the ball to much
Great video well done!! I would love to try the new Mizuno STG, my previous driver was a Taylor Made burner and never actually considered Mizuno for a driver really. I played with their irons from the MP18 and the MP20 HMBs which I had to let go unfortunately :( Great inside into the technology this one has and from your review I am really looking forward to trying it in South Africa!! #bigbadboomer
Jeep up Witherspoon theese honest videos, always enjoy the reviews and the challenges. 👍😁 My Callaway XR speed from the medieval ages is not a #BIGBADBOOMER unfortunately.
"#BIGBADBOOMER" Love the looks of both of these! Would they help my game? Have no idea, but willing to give anything a go to try! Keep up the great work!

Never thought of that driver before, loved their irons #bigbadboomer #petepickedme
We have a winner 🎉 Congrats rockinroman412 on winning a new driver!

Peter, you've got the best 'meh' I've ever heard.
His meh really did make me laugh out loud 😂

Pretty funny an ad for the PXG Gen 4 driver for $350 played before this. Seems like that could actually be the best bang for the buck currently.
Eeeh
The guy in that ad sounds like diabetes

My current driver is an older Cleveland Launcher that is less than Ideal for me. Either of these drivers would be a big upgrade.

#bigbadboomer. Just taken up golf again and have a Titleist 915 D3, never got on with it, one of these might be just the club, but I'd be happy with anything 230+ Srixon would be great

Peter, I found the report interesting. I currently am using a $10 Callaway garage sale driver, but will be on the outlook for the ZX5.
I'm around an 18 handicap off the short tees.. currently rocking a Cleveland Highbore XLS. Getting very good (for me) results. I don't love the sound but that is a very low priority for me.

“Big Bad Boomer”. Mizuno are so so good! Thanks for the videos Pete.
Using a Callaway XR 16....if i were to consider an upgrade? it would be either the Hogan GS53 Max or possibly the Mizuno that you have just mentioned.
Cleveland and Wilson staff always have exceptional woods that no one blink at
Just bought the Srixon Zx7. Completely happy with it!
Im looking for a driver at the moment, just started again and have built my new leftie set up to a 3 wood, really need a new driver to finish off the bag second hand market prices are only just coming down to a semi sensible amount

“Big bad boomer” love your videos Pete, you and Matt are hilarious together
"BigBadBoomer" There a lot of really good drivers our on the market now. I appreciate your videos. Keep up the great work.

Using an old titleist 910 D2. It's time for a new one
I picked up an STZ over the holiday break for a really good price. Can't wait to start gaming it. It is replacing my 10 year old OG Rocketballz.
