    Those ducks are the cutest! Trees continue to look fabulous. I've got an infestation of earwigs. They are eating all the flowers and new growth on everything. They are nocturnal.

    Those caterpillars are a big problem and they love tomatoes

      Omg! I found another 6 of them! They decimated my pepper and tomato plants!
      But luckily, I found them and fed them to the ducks. 🥳
      AND…now I know to look for them.

      @@afig3539 there is probably more there the small ones are even harder to find you have to stay on top of them for the next week or two.

    My trees aren’t doing so well. I think my potting mix is holding too much moisture because the leaves are yellowing and dropping. It’s too late to repot them and I’m worried about putting them in the ground…but I don’t want them to die.

      What zone are you in? And what type of pots do you use?

    • @afig3539

      I think the worst that would happen if you make any changes is that it delays fruiting by 2 weeks. Better that than them dying!

      @@afig3539 I’m in 6A. I put five of them in the ground for right now. It seems like the best option. I use 10 and 15 gallon nursery pots and use peat moss and compost and I add in a lot of perlite.

    • @afig3539

      I just heard the peat moss is not good for fig trees. It doesn’t allow for Nitrogen uptake or something like that. Hence, yellow leaves.

    Hey how big are your fabric pots and what soil mix do you use?

    • @afig3539
      @afig3539  2 месяца назад

      5, 7, and 10 gallons
      Miracle Grow organic mix.

      I think I want to use 10g or 15g. How tall are your trees in the 10g? I want to keep mine around 7 feet tall max.

      The bag won’t determine their size. The pruning does. Fig trees will get up to 10-15 ft in the bag maybe even taller but skinny. If you don’t prune them every year, they will continue to get out of hand.
