This is amazing. Made a quick summary for a friend:
    1. Figure out your value (filter out the top 3)
2.what are your super strengths (not the things you are good at, but the ones you gain energy from doing them)
    3. Confidence (aware of your confidence gremlins , like fear of im not good enough, authority, or public speaking)
    4. Network (active - people helping people, effective - you are being helped, difference, donating, distance) you need a mentor - understand what you want before asking, a peer, a sponsor (advocate for you), a coach (good at asking questions, not answering)
    5. Future possibilities (go talk to people and understand your career possibilities)

"you don't have to know all the answers, and you don't have to pretend that you do"
my first time experiencing "relief tears"
because i felt the pressure literally getting out of me.
thanks for this "life turning" podcast, kind of gave me clearer picture of where i am at, and possible directions i could go to - at least with confidence now-.

Biggest takeaway: I’ve already had a squiggly career that recently started stagnating. This gave me some confidence in trying new avenues and aligning to what I really want.
Thank you Ali, team and Helen.

wonderful discussion. And I bought book to deep dive into the squiggly career concept as I am not sure why I am feeling unhappy in my current job and probably changing company won't keep me happier longer. So I need to find a long term sustainable solution. Thanks Ali and Helen.

I worked at many companies, there absolutely zero chance to create your own meaningful career within a Corporation. Things are set and fixed and certain positions or tasks are only available to certain people. You have to do what you are hired for, if you do more and contribute extra, it's not appreciated nor paid. If companies were interested in allowing 'squiggly careers' then they would offer job job rotation for example. They would extend the chances to all employees equally and not only to those who have built the best relationships with upper management. We all know 'visibility' is important. Introverts unlike extroverts don't crave for visibility, yet they are doing a great job! The only chance to have a 'squiggly career' is to grow yourself and this happens mainly outside of the company by taking courses or starting your own thing. It's very rare to find somebody in a company to support you, even if you are studying in the evenings, they don't care and expect unpaid overtime!

Great podcast... as usual. I do disagree with both of you as it relates to asking someone to be your mentor, especially in today's society...one day ago, I asked someone to be my mentor...using the word mentor and the person didn’t hesitate. The mentor/mentee relationship existed already yes...but me asking formalized the process. My husband has mentors and they've always referred to themselves as such and he is referred to as such by those who he mentors either by his own choosing or by request.

Stop itt! I’m just a few minutes in but I just had to comment to say that I’m so happy that you’re gonna be narrating the audiobook! 😍 Saying it again, but I just can’t wait! I was wondering though, pre-ordering the book in my country isn’t possible through the link that was provided on your website, unfortunately the site on which you can buy the physical copy just asks if you ”would like to be notified” when the book is for sale, so I presume that the pre-ordering thing only applies for the kindle version of the book? I’m gonna buy it either way but yeah getting some pre-order bonuses would be extra fun, totally get if that isn’t possible for the physical copies though
