  • 4 Channel Ultra Micro Receiver
    This video covers a new and updated 4 channel ultra micro receiver from the folks at Stevens Aero. The unit comes in a "brick" that contains the receiver, electronic speed control and two linear servos. This unit can connect to a small electric motor to provide an easy to use solution for RC flight with airplanes weighing less than 3.0 ounces.
    Ultra micro RC planes can be a lot of fun to fly. They can be built quickly and flown in smaller, local flying areas. These 4 channel ultra micro receivers are perfect for converting Guillows model airplane kits to radio control flight.
    Discussion is provided with these newer RC systems to the older ParkZone line of electronics. The new systems are a bit more compact and have less solder joints to improve system reliability.

    Hey Tim.... I see two connectors on the board... does this mean I can run dual servos? I want to build the low wing plane you showed earlier.... unfortunately I sent Stevens aero this question and they never responded. Thanks for the great videos.

      Barry: Yes. On the four channel receiver, you can plug in two aileron servos. They are shown on the Stevens Aero website. Tim

    Tim, in case you're interested, the original AR64 receivers are still available on Aliexpress. What I like about them more, then about this 4-channel ones, is that AR64 built in ESC can control both brushed and brushless motors, apart from obvious 2 additional channels.

      SQ: Yes, you raise a good point on the AR64. A Google search does display a variety of vendors. I am not sure where to get the micro brushless motors, but would be an interesting option! Tim

      @@TimMcKay56 Well, I did buy micro brushless motor at the same Aliexpress, as well as micro servos, both linear and torque ones, 1 and 1,7 grams respectively. But I didn't use the micro brushless in any model yet. There are both geared and non geared versions of the tiny brushless motors. Too bad, buying stuff is much easier, then building models. :-)

    Just to let you know the Micro Spektrum servo board motor connection (RX62-H) is located on the rear of the board next to where the battery wire is soldered on ,it has to be soldered also. These are available from :servo shop:

    Tim. I was wondering if a person could use that micro reciever in a sport cub s?

      Jerry: I think the receiver should work in the Cub. Tim

    Hi Tim thanks for your reply but how do I prepare my receiver for binding there are no buttons on it. Its a wltoys f949s receiver sorry to bother you again.

      Ray: As the system looks like a "beefed up" ParkZone ultra-micro system, i.e. one without a bind plug, the only thing I can think of, to get the receiver into the bind mode, is to ensure your transmitter is OFF, plug the battery into the receiver, and wait about ten seconds. Receivers like this with power and no recognized transmitter signal, usually go into the bind mode (rapidly flashing light on receiver). Once you see the flashing light, turn on transmitter in bind mode. Tim

    TIM PLEASE HELP ME. im converting a guillows kit and i am runing it on a 1S power suply with a brushed motor the one i was using was a 716 motor and it seems to not have enough poweer to fly my model weight is 3.9 oz :( a little heavy its model 307# . what should i do ? im using one of thoes 4 chanel micro reciever that has a built in speed control for a brushed motor . im not usre if it will take a brushless motor . any advice? i just ordered a slightly bigger brushed motor the 820 one hope this will be enough but idk . any tips you can give me please?

      Enrique: Not sure what kit you are converting. But if a normal Guillows kit with a 24-28" wingspan, 3.9 ounces is almost for sure too heavy, even if you get a higher power motor. With the ParkZone setup, there is pretty much one motor that works with the ESC. I have not had any luck finding a larger "brick" for a bigger model, still looking! Tim

    Hello. I have the dx5e and the rx42d and I have been able to get them to bind but the esc will not work. Documentation says it has auto lock function but I can’t seem to get it out of auto lock. Any ideas? I am new to RC. One of my first planes

      Ray: Only item I can think of is to ensure your receiver battery is fully charged. Good luck! Tim

    Hello I have a Spektrum micro unit I can get servos working but cannot seem to find connection for motor it has 2 connectors for the micro servos but foxed by motor .John

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  2 года назад

      John: There should be a two (2) pin housing on top of the "brick", in the middle between the short antenna and the battery connector. Just plug in the motor there, reversing install as needed for correct prop rotation. Tim

    My f949s rx will not bind to my flysky i6 transmitter. The rx flashes at one speed and will not stop flashing. Can you please help.

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  3 года назад

      Ray: I am not real familiar with the Flysky i6 transmitter. As a general rule, ensure the receiver bind plug/button is properly installed or pressed (other had the bind plug in upside down). Ensure the Rx is in the bind mode before turning on the transmitter. Know how to turn on the transmitter to the bind mode (on the DX6, you need to hold down the trainer button while turning the transmitter on). Finally, do not have the transmitter antenna close and pointing to the receiver. I stand a few feet away and point the transmitter antenna away from the receiver before binding. Tim
