Bach’s Partitas, composed between 1725 and 1731 as part of his Klavierübung series, are a testament to his originality and artistic depth. In this video, I present the Courante, the third movement of the Partita. In this intricate piece in 3/4 time, Bach employs a metrical polyrhythm with eighth-note triplets in one hand and sixteenth-note rhythms in the other. To better highlight this structure, I used the lute stop for the left hand. This is a work of exceptional brilliance, rich in both expressiveness and genius. I hope you enjoy this interpretation!
Thank you very much for your comment. It’s always comforting when people appreciate what one does. Thanks! I’ve been down with the flu, which is why I haven’t uploaded anything recently, but the Giga from the Partita is coming soon.
