I feel like each continent should have it's own Big 5. While continents like Europe and North America may not be the most "attractive" ones when it comes to wildlife tourism, they also have plenty of animals whose survival is of the highest concern and those concerns also need to be globally known as those in more "attractive" areas.
Not the most "attractive"?? If you want big ones for north America : Sea elephant Bison Moose Musk oxen Polar bear But I'd like to include walrus, manatee, elk, steller sea lion and brown bear as well :)
@@torrawel Well, you know what I meant. It's just that plenty of Europeans and (I'm gonna assume) Americans always talk about African and Asian wildlife because they're considered exotic, while local fauna is considered boring and uninteresting. And the only truth is that both Europe and North America have amazing animals that needs to be protected at all costs (like all those that you mentioned) but they're not "mainstream" enough for many people.
@@whyareyoureadingmynickname8158 of course I knew what you meant and I totally agree with you. Just wanted to mention some of these awesome North American ones. There definitely is some African bias and propaganda in the world of mammal attention. Nothing to complain about discrimination there! :) South America and Australia however can complain a lot... How many more times do we have to read or see videos that South America has "empty" savannas compared to Asia or Africa? How many more times do we have to discuss Pleistocene mammals that died out in South America? As if a giant ground sloth is by definition more interesting than a tiny pygmy sloth living on 1 Panamanian island?
As someone who loves wildlife, all these places are dream destinations for me :D You could certainly replace any of these animals with other amazing species such as moose, bison, rhino, hippos, or wolves and much more.
I would like to list all of the other African “fives” that have been coined: The Little Five (small, relatively inconspicuous animals with names that correspond to the Big Five): any antlion, Leopard Tortoise, Red-billed Buffalo-Weaver, any rhinoceros beetle, and any sengi (elephant shrew) The Ugly Five (sorry, but I didn’t make this up): Blue Wildebeest, Common Warthog, Lappet-faced Vulture, Marabou Stork, and Spotted Hyena The Stupid Five (again, didn’t make this up): Blue Wildebeest, Fiery-necked Nightjar, Helmeted Guineafowl, Safari Ant (winged alate), and any solifugid (sun spider) The Special Five (specific to the Samburu National Reserve in East Africa): East African Oryx, Gerenuk, Grévy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, and Somali Ostrich The Shy Five (burrowing or nocturnal, more or less elusive animals): Aardwolf, Bat-eared Fox, Cape Porcupine, Ground Pangolin, and Meerkat The Forgotten Five (all of which are relatively obscure and threatened with extinction): Angolan Python, Cape Griffon, Damara Dik-dik, Ground Pangolin, and Spotted Rubber Frog The Impossible Five (all of which are very rare or elusive South African animals featured in a book of the same name by Justin Fox): Aardvark, Cape Leopard, Ground Pangolin, Riverine Rabbit, and a white Lion in the wild

This would probably be a big one but can you a video on different rodent groups. Like one on squirrels, another on rabbits and so forth. It would be pretty big thing but I think it would be cool and get people think no just about the big or dangerous animals. I love your videos and find them so educational. Keep up the good work
One other great place to see African forest elephants (Loxodonta cyclotis) is Gabon. It has said to have the largest population of forest elephants. It's one of my biggest dreams in life to see them in real life

Awesome~👍
Thank you for sharing this informative video~🤗
I believe India is the only country where tigers are increasing in population.
India's a wild place that's for sure
Actually Bhutan and Nepal are both increasing in tiger population as well as I believe thailand but I'm not sure with that one.
India have lions , tigers, leopards, elephants, rhinos, wild buffalo, Indian bison , crocodile's, apes (gibbons), vultures , dolphins and many more
I think exploring species of Pssiticines would be wonderful!!

Bit of a shame that the Rhinoceros missed out on the new big 5, I would sub them out with Lions but still an amazing list!
no rhinos included why😪😪
overated mammal
India has 30,000 elephant that is highest in the world by any country
I know right? India has the highest Asian elephant population by far but he just mentioned as if it were incidental.
Satpura is not famous for tigers, Kanha Bandhavgarh etc. are not included in the video

Seems like a terrible idea to challenge people to get a picture of the most interesting and vulnerable animals. They need our absence not our help.
human presence is unavoidable. Its better to make a positive impact on the environment
