In Serbia meatballs is called chufte, that red pepper is belolucena paprika with garlic, parsley, oil and vinegar (it's salad and it's eaten cold), the other soup is corbast pasulj (beans with smoked pork knuckle), that sarma it's made with zelje (green leafy vegetable like spinach, a bit sour), chicken soup made with gritz dumplings, enjoy 👍💪🙂!!!

Oh now we cooking bro. This stuff is the TRUE traditional serbian cuisine. Go to zemun to a place caled "Pod lozom 78" - it a true back alley gem of a place. Looks real shady from outside but once you sit down you can enjoy the finest proper traditional cooking served with passion by people who LOVE their work.
Yeah don't be scared by the "shady roadside kafana" looks though. The food is off of this world and the service is top notch. It is a true example of a back alley joint that is a hidden gem.

What you got as yogurt, is sour milk if simple translated, its between milk and cheese, and you put that on top of sarma and take it as mixed bite, its great that way.

When we are sick (cold or fever) we drink tea, eat citrus fruits, pickled beetroot with garlic salad (it's even recommended to cancer patients by doctors how much is healthy), pickled cabbage salad or turšija ( turshija = all kinds of pickled vegetables together ) is for preventing to get cold (cuz of fullness of vitamin C)😊...also we drink "Rasol" ( juice water from pickled cabbage) for sobering from hard drinking nights from club and birthday parties, weddings, slavas, most sobering mornings were 13 years ago we used to celebrate first time going into "regular army service" which we called "Ispraćaji" u Vojsku ( "Sending off" lads in to army, around 18-20 years old, mainly males ) hope they will bring it back. Right eating things in Serbia you should know: we always eat čorba or soup firstly, we eat cooked food "with bread" every time, mainly with sour salads or pickled turšija if you eat soured or pickled meal like "pickled cabbage sarma" or "podvarak" its not necessary cuz there's enough Vit-C in it, btw you take that "pickled milk" and trow in "vine leaves sarma", cut the rolls with knife and fork, mix it, and bon apetit, also ordinary "pickled cabbage sarma" and "stuffed paprika", does not goes with pickled milk only "vine leaves sarma" does. With that 40$ 😮 you payed i could cook home same dish in full big pot so it can last for week for one person...

When the Turkic people came to present day Turkey they learned a lot from the Greeks, Persians, Arabs…When they invaded Europe they also brought many new things back to Turkey. Many Turkish dishes and lexicons are actually Persian , Greek or Arabic. Serbians use a lot of pork and mixed meats (beef /pork, pork/lamb, etc.). The best sarms has smoked backon, so it’s definitely not Turkish 😅

The vinegar pepper you ate is a side dish, used like a salad. You eat it with grilled meat etc.
