Largest City In North America

On this day during our visit to Mexico City, we happened to time our trip into the heart of the city during the 2024 elections. We know...we were warned it would be a madhouse but what a cool experience that we can say we were in the thick of the demonstrations in Mexico City when soon after, Claudia Sheinbaum was sworn in as Mexico's first female president. In our video, we mention Clara Brugada and she was elected as the Head of Government of Mexico City in the 2024 elections as well.
It was an exhausting day of walking through crowds and a failed attempt to get into the Gran Hotel Ciudad de México. We read that people often come for a drink on the rooftop terraced bar, overlooking the Zócalo. We thought this would be a perfect place to escape the crowds but everyone else had that idea as well or they were simply keeping everyone out of the hotel who wasn't a registered guest.
All in all, it was a wonderful day starting out at Rosetta in the Roma Norte neighborhood having one of their famous guava rolls - Colima 166, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico and ending the day knowing we witnessed history in the making.
