US based panel production is excellent news! Best of luck to KB Solar.
Excellent tour of their Automation. Glad to see a U.S. company making panels.
Thanks E775 and Alex at KB Solar. Guess now I gotta start saving for Bi Facials.
Glad to see panels being produced in the US.
Did I get that right?
They put voltage on the panel and check for the light given off?
I mean, I know it happens, but it is so ....... Cool!
Crazy, i used to run a pick and place machine at a little shop in southern California. Business condo park, was the style building. There was this dude on the corner unit next to the dumpster. He used to yell at me for throwing trash away in the dumpster. Our freeking business trash. My boss encouraged him to call the cops as he so threatened every time so we could escalate his BS to get him to stop. He never did..... So we did circuit board manufacturing. Him? Freeking made solar panels by hand placement and soldering and laminating. Crazy world. That was in 2003 (03).
Very cool. I know JD and Dusty well and they were excited to work on their latest solar project with these panels!
"These people never smile or say a word. They're all too busy tryina make an extra dime. Lawd I'd love to haul 'em all down around Spartanburg, and show 'em how to raise hell in Carolin'" Very cool that they're building panels here in the US. Hank would be proud.
That's great to see. Thanks for the tour!
WOW. i want some... 3 decades ago watched them grow. /cut silicon wafers at the old shell plant in Cali... in the before time...
Very cool. I imagined that this facility would be a clean-room type environment.
It's good to know we have these so close by. I'm in Union county
Love it. There is hope for this Country yet.
As others said I’m happy to see a US company. Thanks for sharing.
ENGINEER 775, THANKS FOR SHARING & THE TOUR!
30 yr degredation warranty and a 10yr manufacturing warranty.
Absolutely incredible! Very impressive operations. 100% direct tie kitted with KB panels.
It would be nice if they made the solar cells here, too.
was thinking that too.
It would be and hopefully in the near future!
@@engineer775 It will be. That is what QCELL is working towards.
And guess where the raw materials are coming from.
@davidb.5544 Q cells is building a very large plant in Cartersville Georgia right now. Hyundai is building a very large battery plant in Cartersville also.
This is wicked cool 😎 love to see the inner workings never knew so much went into the making of solar panels pretty cool
I love the regionalization of solar power! It’s great, and it’s being made where it’s being used. My go to panel is Mission Solar out of San Antonio, Texas, a very similar situation to your KB solar. Energy Localization is how we win. (i.e. Survive).
@@user-nu1vn3yy9sif you say so. Looking at supply chain
you're so lucky man.....damn!!!! so cool
Awesome news.. I live in Boiling Springs SC. I am planning to go solar sometime soon. And knowing i can get panels local is awesome news.. Will be reaching out to see about help on a ground mount system and have you guys in mind
Hot dang,,,,local manufacturer. Just might have to check them out.
Amen to made in the USA!
It it NOT made in the USA. These are only assembled in the USA. All the components are still shipped in from outside the USA. Only QCELL is working towards a correctly termed "Made in the USA" panel manufacturing process.
Looks amazing
Awesome tour! So cool that they are near you.
This is so rad
Awesome find
That's awesome! Such a cool process 😮
absolutly fablous if only we had something like that in the UK
Plans are one thing-actually manufacturing them is entirely another.
Great tour!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the video
Very cool! Nice tour.
US Based Bifacials? Am I dreaming?
What a cool video, thanks for the tour. I think we went to school for the same thing: Robotics, kinematics, forward and reverse analysis of serial and parallel manipulators sound familiar? :)
Absoultely! I felt at home! Kinematic Synthesis and Mechanism design were my favorites.
Thank you for the video. I would buy Made in the USA for a quality product at a fair price anyway !!!
American - good
cool seeing a new USA panel plant . hey KB solar can you - please make 40 in x 65 in panels 60 cell footprint dang I hate these bigger panels for many roofs.- thinking you may find some more sales , if your not doing this. you should reach out to installers across the USA to see what they think
We have smaller panels they are 375 watt easy to work with on the roof.
@@IgorYeremin-el5ll are you with KB solar? Send me pricing. And or If you are making panels in USA would want a plant tour. Like this.
Made in America 👍👍
And I happen to want another 8.9kW of bifacial panels this fall ... hmmmmmm. :)
Where do the cell's come from?
Thank you for the video, so nice to see panels made in the US, I am assuming they maybe a little cheaper than imported panels as there is not international shipping?
Unfortunately they’re about $0.71/W for these panels. Many imported (China,Vietnam, India, etc.) panels are in the low 60¢ to the high 40¢ range per W. But the difference may be worth it to someone wanting a USA assembled panel.
Are there any server rack batteries made in the USA?
Silfab and mission USA made
What kind of warranty is there?
label on the monitor at 3:05 is in russian, says "changeover, k - month, f - day".
So they don't actually make solar cells they assemble solar panels. Does anyone actually make solar cells in the US?
Not yet
Chinese cells, parts and equipment. American assembly. Probably only competitive with subsidies.
QCELL is working towards full made in USA manufacturing. You saw those boxes of encapsulate they showed in the video (all shipped in from outside the USA).. QCELL is building as we speak a manufacturing facility in Georgia for that encapsulate and will be the ONLY one in the USA doing that.
@@davidb.5544abor cost in other counries are lower than in the usa.... it's common that they buy manufactured goods outside the country but it doesn't mean the technology is not owned by the usa.... the manufacturing may not be from the usa, but the owner of the said company is usually americans just outside the country.
They don't seem to sell direct to the consumer, or if they do, the process isn't friendly. Snore. Hope they open that up, let consumers buy direct. I'm tired of buying from a guy who buys from a buy who buys from the manufacturer.
These guys could make a fortune off the IRA tax scheme. You want to know how the Chinese got the cost of solar down so fast? They invented this automated process.
These are definitely NOT manufactured in the US. They are only assembled in the US.
There's more than assembly going on here.
congrats u finally have something to help isolate china from the usa
I would not call this American manufactured. All of the components are being shipped in from outside the USA and simply assembled. More appropriately labeled "Assembled in the USA".
Wrong, only raw material imported
Can you imagine how expensive these would be if everything were created from scratch in the US? One step at a time, folks.
I think they're doing some pretty amazing work completing as much of the process as possible here in the states.
@@baillygwagner87 That is exactly what QCELL/Hanwha is working on however in Georgia so this downplays work done by a company actually working to make them from scratch in the USA.
Even using Chinese machines, blurred out boxes of material were also probably made in China, and Chinese cells. They shouldn't be using an unqualified "Made in the USA" marking on their marketing.
@engineer775 that's pretty cool! Thanks for sharing!
