The last time I rambled to my mom and dad they beat me for it. They told me that people will not give you respect if you rambled they will just see you as an excuse of something else and they will not pay any attention to you. Plus a lot of businesses when you talk to your boss or your supervisor they don't want to hear you ramble they want to hear you speak correctly and you're to the point and it's done they don't want to hear your long and story of your life

  • @11chewee11
    @11chewee11 3 года назад +5

    Most extra teats are of no consequence, but in some instances, they can cause problems down the road. When an extra teat is closely associated with one of the necessary teats, it may interfere with milk ability. To nurse efficiently, a calf will form a seal around the base of the teat. Two teats in close proximity may limit the ability of the calf to latch on properly. An extra teat closely associated with a necessary one can also prevent milking equipment from obtaining a proper seal. Supernumerary teats may also cause nipple confusion; occasionally, a newborn can get so focused on a bogus teat that he inadvertently ignores the real milk supply and ends up with hypoglycemia or failure of passive transfer (FPT).
    The rare extra teat that is capable of producing a bit of milk is also the one that will potentially cause more harm than good. Not only can a newborn waste a lot of time on this teat without much progress, but the teat can also be oddly shaped and either not be completely milked out or not be milked at all. Residual milk can potentially lead to infection in the udder, mastitis. Goats will have the same extra teat issues as cattle. Yet, goats can also have some unusual extra teats that branch off the side of another teat, commonly called antler teats, fish-tail teats, or spurs. They are interesting but can cause problems with nursing and milking.

    Journey's grown so much since you had her, she used to have lil skinny legs and now look at her.

      I noticed how muscular her front legs have gotten.

    • @candyharrington1000

      I think it's because she has to compensate & use them to pull her back legs along. She is doing amazing. I worked in home health & hospice. There was a young man who was paralyzed from the waist down. He went from being bed bound to being able to get himself out of bed into a wheel chair. His arm muscles built up that much. He even took care of his young children with some outside help. I called him the amazing young man, because of the hippa law.

    I'm sure someone has already mentioned it but you could always get a pigmy goat to be friends with Journey. They don't get very big. They might be alright in the side yard with her even full grown.

      All the Golden Girls are Nigerian Dwarf Goats... they are not big at all, however, Miss Journey can not be with the other littles because her immune system is not strong enough to fight any parasites she could pick up from them.

    The bigger the bag, means closer Pebbles is to having babies. Squeeze tetes if milk comes, she can deliver anytimes in next couple of days. When she doesn't eat, most likely Pebbles is in labor.

Nope we are not even on both sides of the rack 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂🤣😂😂If Facebook gets on to you for saying nipple they need to come into the 21st century with the rest of the world. Kids these days know words that I never knew when I was a child and some I don't know as an adult 😂🤣 The way you make your videos is awesome I enjoy every minute of them because I get to see so many different things and animals all in one video. You never disappoint me because I can always get a good laugh 😂🤣 or sometimes I might have to cry 😢 buckets but I think 🤔 they are all fantastic. Much love to you all from Arkansas.

    You can't scold them for their natural traits.

    • @emilyoestreich8923
      @emilyoestreich8923 3 года назад

      Natural or not you need to put them in a better environment where if they do decide to act out on what they do they're not going to get into things that could harm their health or harm them in a sense of just doing what they would do. It's like you don't want them to harm their body if they get stuck in a fence or they mess around on the farm I mean how many times has Lester and his kids and Jamie had to get goats heads out of fence, it's not that they didn't want to it just happens and you can't always be on a farm 24/7 you have to have your life as well otherwise you'll go insane

    I do love Pebbles, she is just sooooo beautiful ☺️ 💋 In regards To the teats on pebbles it’s a genetic trait and it’s passed on to her kids. Goats should have two teats only. The buck used should not be a breeder for sure and her buckling when she kids should be wethered he will pass the extra teats on and her Doeling should not be bred and only be pets and she shouldn’t be bred again so this genetic trait isn’t passed on. I own goats and Have for 15 years.. i raise Nigerian dwarfs... I love your sanctuary and watch twice a day 💗

      Janine, its a joy to hear from another goat owner. Your knowledge and experience will help Lester and Jamie, immensely ! They have said they don't want to breed their babies, but accidents happen . They have Ringo 'fixed' , but another goat "literally" jumped into the fray ( 7 preg babies). ( a very close neighbor's goat). Anyway, all info is good info !! My sister raised goats many years ago....and she didn't know all about them either !! 😘
