The bottom Kenwood is the far better sounding amplifier even though it is only 40 watt/ch. I had one for several years before it gave up the ghost. And replaced it with Radical Audio Synthesis class A amplifier. The best thing I have ever heard on any speakers.
That’s the main weakness of this amplifier, Those damn filter switches & pre in/ out switch. Deoxit and me actually running a signal through it as a pre/ amp for a day or two cleared things up big time.

I have the same amp. I always find videos of it to compare switch arrangements. Only amp/receiver I leave off the loudness on.

I had to same problem with the two small buttons. Had to open her up and clean the pots with Detoxit.

Do you have a Toshiba sc 330 ?
I got it a few years ago, I had the sy-335 preamp with it, I have fond memories of this set with Cabasse brick M8 speakers
