Dude, you and @GetJeeping ROCK OUT LOUD!! I've had to roll my windows and lock my doors for years from the driver-side. 10 minutes to do your fix (most of it was getting the molding far enough out that I could access the wires). Fixed. Done. Gone. Thank you!!
GetJeeping? Never heard of that one. OutJeeping? Austin is great. Anyway, hope this works on the 2door as well. Don't see why it wouldn't. Thanks for showing how simple it is!!
The same thing happened to my passenger front window (why is it always when it's raining/snowing?...) I wish I'd seen this before I bought a regulator/motor replacement. Although, the motor was getting painfully slow, so I think it was on it's way out, anyway. This little gem goes into the bag of tricks. Thank you!
I've been having neither one of my passenger windows work off and on for a year now. I live in Florida and it rains. I'm going to try this, right now. The window worked one for the first time in a while yesterday, and I knew I shouldn't have rolled it down. Today it looks like it's going to rain. Time to go save the day!
So, the back window wouldn't work from the driver side, you bypassed the window control lock which (supposedly) has no effect on the driver's control, and that allows you to roll that back window up from the driver's window control again? I am asking because mine is doing the same thing, I just want to make sure I am understanding you correctly, Thanks.
Not the best way to use those splice connectors, and you should not cut any wire in the harness. Use two splice connectors and a short piece of wire to connect the two together. That way you don't have to cut the harness wiring. Otherwise, a great tip, and a friend with a Jeep is going to do it now!!
Any idea why none of my door controls (locks and window control) work when my door is open? My censor says my door is open (which it’s not) so now I can’t roll my windows up at all.
Yes as he said. I was replacing speakers and when I hooked door speaker up in drivers door it didnt work. I had power, but no ground. Inside that rubber boot from body to door there is a ground that goes from single wire to 2 and it was pulled out. Its a pain in the ass to get to, but it fixed that issue. Now Ive repalced my master switch in drivers door and only driver side windows work from that switch. The passenger side would intermittently work sometimes, but now have stopped. The drivers rear will only work from drivers switch, but not from rear door switch?...smh. I did not find any broken wires that I could tell in passenger side so now I'm scratching my head. This might be my issue, but I would think replacement of that driver door switch assembly would have fixed this, but who knows. Guess I'll try this before ordering a passenger door switch assembly. I would think I could stick a jumper wire between those wires first to test it
@@fishhead6349 no worries the shop I had to take it to disconnected it fully because they didn’t want to look for the parts or see if it could be salvaged at all. Except they didn’t disconnect it properly so my car is still dying. Oh they also ripped my hood open with a screwdriver because they count get it open (I told them how) and now the latch and latch line is busted :’)
Had the problem, saw the video, had the connector, made the fix, back on RUclips to comment in 5 minutes. Perfect!... THANKS !!!
I agree...Out jeeping Rocks. Your addition of the splice clip was genius

@@robertbrodarick9607 Yup. My bad. Brain fart on my behalf. 😵💫🙂
Thanks dude, fixed. now i can sell it without customers complaining
Glad this video helped out man!
I was so pumped to find this fix, then immediately heart broken once I pulled the wires out and saw the blue splice clip was already there 😭

Cool tip. My oil pressure gauge in my 01 pegs all way to the right, yours pegs to the left. Nice.
like a 20 dollar fix my guy
@@MaybachDay Yep, I changed the one on my 98 XJ, but not on the 01. Those gauges are rarely correct anyway.
I’m trying that quick fix (without resoldering the whole switch control) thanks for describing the exact issue
Thank you so much for making this video, very helpful. Going to try this tomarrow. I really hope that this works.

Did it work?

I needed this. I’ll be trying it. Thanks for sharing!
Gonna try this today if it works thank you. Only one window works
That sound @ :55 is an all too familiar one. 😆
😂 yep its a jeep thing forsure

Going to try this tomorrow. Only window that works is the front driver on mine replaced the switch and still the same
Im a full time door Dasher as well
Hmm I always wondered about this if there was a fix. I’ll have to try on my old jeep some time see if it actually works
Mine doesn’t have a clutch pedal. Does that matter? 😆
Good tip!
It works !
Anybody got a name for that "LITTLE CLIP" he mentions to purchase?
Wire splicers
My three windows work just not my driver's side and the child lock doesn't work could this be it?
I just bought a new switch panel from switch dr for 20 bucks lifetime warranty
I wish my XJ had a clutch pedal!
All my windows work but only from the driver door will that fix it to where my passengers can roll their windows down themselves??
will try this tomorrow
i MIGHT TRY THAT!! 😁
Awesome
cool thanks for the tip!
Lmao of course my roll cage blocks that spot
I have a 97 grand Cherokee limited and I can't find that plug
My front two don’t work , perhaps it’s the same thing.
did this fix it for you? My back two work but front two dont. well they dont most of the time, sometimes one of them works.

Very common for wires to break and fray out in the door hinges
Id check for broken wires and replace that sensor.
