@jus39 Yes there is something in what you say ...the music is stll charming .but a few small things here and there probably not of his earlier standards ...remember though the courage he hd to return atfer a very bad acident ..I think in the late 1970s. For me there wil always be only one Galway ...going back to the Berlin days.
I totally agree: His excessive and overwhelming use of vibrato can sometimes seem almost tasteless. Which is also the main reason why Jean-Pierre Rampal was always my favorite flute artist - and not James Galway. But his technical abilities are indeed (still) quite impressive. And he is also a cheerful and very pleasant fellow. :-)
