I went through hell with overheating and it was worse on the highway. Then I realized my cousin took off the plastic scoop at the bottom because it was ate up. Even a beat up one is better than nothing.
In addition to the side panels behind the bumper that keep air going through the radiator, the lower valence is like an air scoop for the cooling system. The electric cooling fans worked good when the duct work out front is in tact and half ass sealed. Without the duct work the fans won't keep it cool. Most people threw that stuff away not realizing it was essential for A/C and engine cooling efficiency.
Kenny and Harley are always there for yous all even with all that goes on. I love the way you are going to replace part by part to find the actual problem. Be it one part that is causing a single problem or a couple. Great troubleshooting experience. Like you I really like the idea of two kits/ stages on that car 👍
Hey Bill. Few things that work well in these situations. -Add another bottle, with a Y block into the same main line.. The second bottle maintains pressure in the system on a given hit, and lasts longer before bottle changes. It is not just for "Big" hits. Smaller hits maintain pressure on the big end. -We run an average of 1,050psi for the hit. Higher the pressure at the start, the higher at the end. Keeps the nitrous in a "gaseous" form to be most effective. Watch your timing. This is usually for hot and sticky days.. Lower pressure keeps it in a more liquid state, less power, less hit, and will tend to run a bit richer for a given hit. This is usually for good air days as it is just more of a tuning window. -Going to the bigger main with a single bottle tends to drop pressure more, as the volume needs to recover in a bigger line. Usually needs more bottle pressure to become effective. -A -4 line is more than enough for up to 400hp worth of pills. More important is constant, and consistent bottle pressure. Hence the second bottle. -Shorter lines hit harder than longer lines. Regardless if from bottle to solenoid, or solenoid to plate. Even on the same size hit. Something I do with my customers, especially with small tire grudge guys on the street, run a big kit, with a smaller plate. The amount of holes greatly effects how it hits without sacrificing much over all power. Your suspension and converter, as tight as they seem, need that hard hit to plant the tire and get the front suspension to react. You can see how the car reacts the more aggressive you get compared to NA. Not telling you what to do, just a few ideas. Best of luck.
You and Jeremy crack me up every time lol. I was close saying 11.0 on your Facebook post. Curious to see if the bigger line makes a difference. Glad to here pops is doing good. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

When you have time have them check the balance on the tires on the suburban. 95% of the time that's what fixes it. If it's in the steering wheel it's usually in the fronts. If you feel it in your butt it's in the back. Congratulations on your street car win. Good luck this weekend.
o yes,,,the clothes line clips,,,basically it helps with old school vapor lock,,,helps keep the fuel from boiling in the steel line,,before going to the carb...maybe lol...🤓💯
@6:33 as soon as you say Vicki is bringing you a bottle you see Tommy and Vicky coming up with his nitrous bottle. Man I really respect how much of a team you and your family is. My little brother was the only one who cared for racing and I lost him last year. Y’all videos get me excited to go take my car out.
11sec quarter mile pass in a fully loaded 3800 pound car with a/c power steering and brake's with an overdrive trans that can drive anywhere ain't bad that's faster than most super cars that cost as much as a house ( america ) 🤑
Bill keep in mind that the larger hose will hold more mass in it. Causing an even faster bottle pressure drop. The twin bottles would be the ticket with 2 -4 to a -6 feed. That will keep the line pressure as high as possible. 🤙

Bill this is your chance to learn fuel injection, tuning and jeff would say improve your wiring abilities. Lol. Be safe and fast this weekend. Yall are all in my prayers.

Hey Bill my brother’s John Deere GT 235 has been solid for years and he has punished that tractor lol. We had sparks flying too this year and had to replace that pulley and carriage bolt. Also this is the first time I had to clean the carburetor in all these years. I finally convinced him not to run anymore fuel with any ethanol in it. Runs great again ! You will get those 10’s pretty easy I think . I hope to see more 1/4 mile passes this year if possible. Have a great weekend buddy !
Wheel balance is out if it develops a wobble over a certain speed alot of shops don't bother balancing the rears see it all the time working at Bridgestone
yeah, I think a lot of other old timers seen this one coming.....I suggest a tranny upgrade soon as you dip into the 10's, after that, hell yeah, two kits is exactly what the mali needs, 150 off the line and 300 down the line, woot woot keep them street guys on they toes, besides, billy right on that ass with a stock block as the cars are right now
@@cfmechanic unless it was changed pretty sure should be a 3.27 in it.....a 4.10 for sure would not hurt billy at all in the stangbanger, however, stock block, 200 to 250 shot....something eventually will go, my guess, tranny first then rear end, unless he tries to stick it at a track, then who knows, break both at same time lol
That’s cool you guys have a high end track that doesn’t go crazy on tech inspection. My car is a convertible and I’m not able to even practice my 330. Unfortunately Las Vegas motor speedway follows NHRA tech specs even for test and tune

@@theoldmansgarage thanks for the reply. As a dad you gotta be so proud of all your family. You are living a blessed life. I tried my damn hard to get my boy doing something. Had this same problem on a previous kit. The answer, without a doubt provided your under the flow rate max of the solenoids, is a second bottle or a larger 15lb bottle. Once I added the 2nd bottle, no more problems. Pressure at the solenoid stayed consistent through the whole 1/4 mile. Basically, more volume. I think if you stay with the same 10lb bottle and up your feed line to -6AN, and more sportsman style solenoids, you are going to have the same issues. But I am anxious to see. That 10 second pass is close! Edit: And that was with a -4 feed. If you go to a -6 Feed and larger solenoids, the second 10lbs or larger 15lb bottle will pay dividends in keeping the pressure consistent with the larger flow volume.
Great video bill ,kicking butt in the Malibu,I’m sure billy will step it up to try beat you ,I don’t like his chances so make sure you pull out some tricks to keep billy behind you cause he’s coming
I love your guys street cars, my brother has a 2010 s197 that run 11.60s all motor. It's built obviously with 11.5 to 1 compression. Super fun street car
I can’t wait to see the results of your test of the bigger line, I have been fighting the same problem with my kit, good run from the start of a pass but nitrous falls off fast after, I’m running the mainline nx also with 250 shot.
Hey Bill… I use the same Mainline kit as you on a 68 Camaro, very mild big block power… -4 line from trunk to solenoid which is about 16’ long with a couple loops in it in the trunk area….and from my experience , the “150” jets , on the mainline kit , out of the box, was literally a brick wall for me…sooo, I had laying around a nitrous outlet .178 nitrous solenoid versus the mainlines .078, and left the original mainlines .112 fuel solenoid as for I really thought there wasn’t an issue with the fuel side at all… after a few passes,I ended up gaining 3 tenths (11.20 to 10.90) on basically the same jetting as before and a couple mph as well… I guess it’s one of those things where every combination acts a litttle different , but that’s how mine went….so after I felt like I was doing too much mis matching and engineering…. I ended up buying a Nitrous outlet Stinger 3 plate kit and upgraded to a -6 feed line and started with the 150 jetting and picked up another 2 tenths from before.. ( 10.90s to 10.60s) and haven’t looked back yet….
Bill are you able to watch the fuel pressure as you make your hit. You might try a bleed off on the fuel side. I always use the ones that take a nitrous jet from magna fuel. Makes keeping the fuel pressure consistent when making your hit. Anyways good luck 👍🏻
Looks like that win in Mexico lit a fire in your need for speed! Who wants to start a pool on when the Malibu has a 408, 245cc heads, solid roller cam, a fogger system, and a Glide with a brake, running low 8's 😁😂 I'm gonna say by July of next year
Hi Bill i remember you saying you seem to leave your nitrous tank on at times with that being said : I believe your issue is the plunger in your nitrous solenoid when the nitrous is left in the line obviously heat builds pressure and in the trunk even if its in the line w bottle off it can get extremely high and put the plunger in the seat so hard it will look like a carb needle and become a restriction and will cause excessive rich condition ! Black smoke pulsating etc .pull the nitrous sol apart and look at the plunger it should not have the start of a needle
Uncle Bucko is hilarious! Love his grouchy demeanor. I love all the street racing you all been doing. Great job Bill!

You have to have the factory plastic air dam below the radiator on 3rd gens or they overheat no matter what.
Yepp. Air hits the face of the radiator then gets pulled straight under the car. 🤙

Have a safe and great weekend. Can't wait to see the mods and progression on the malibu
Follower's gotta know????? Who in that family camp now has the most knowledge on how to get a ride down the road the fastest. Respect from northern Ontario Canada
Billy
@@theoldmansgarage thanks for the reply. As a dad you gotta be so proud of all your family. You are living a blessed life. I tried my damn hard to get my boy doing something. I built and finished his first ride after even being engulfed in a gas explosion. He wants to play those damn games. Any help you can give how to get kids going forward like what you have done with yours would be so greatly appreciated. I know you're a busy guy and if you don't have the time I respect that. Be safe ,from our family to yours. We send love and a big god bless. ,,, Beardmore Ontario Canada
When Bucko hits you with the "lack of maintenance" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Love that demonstration of the Bourbon I thinks you have a bounty out for the Malibu
Good content Bill, can't wait until you do the build on your Nova, I think that will be a whole different ball game.
Super fun street car
on the bottle pressure issue look in to a nano system maintains a consistent pressure and uses every bit of n2o
Gotta admit I've never seen the clothes pin vapor lock deal. Great video as always. 3best channels on the you tube. Best of luck to the whole family.
That’s been my experience in the past as well. Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching.
Bill are you able to watch the fuel pressure as you make your hit. You might try a bleed off on the fuel side. I always use the ones that take a nitrous jet from magna fuel. Makes keeping the fuel pressure consistent when making your hit. Anyways good luck 👍🏻
I love the bottle, my street truck, 66 c10 long bed 489 bbc and a twin pro shot plate was most fun ever
Looks like that win in Mexico lit a fire in your need for speed! Who wants to start a pool on when the Malibu has a 408, 245cc heads, solid roller cam, a fogger system, and a Glide with a brake, running low 8's 😁😂 I'm gonna say by July of next year
These TWO Brothers-PRICELESS..👍🏼🇺🇸👍🏼..!!
Safe travels tomorrow. Love you all
Good luck this weekend
Im leaning more towards a converter or trans issue, possibly even ignition.
It picked up 2 and a half tenths and no mph. Thats not a nitrous issue.
Never doubt a small block...
Hi Bill i remember you saying you seem to leave your nitrous tank on at times with that being said :
I believe your issue is the plunger in your nitrous solenoid when the nitrous is left in the line obviously heat builds pressure and in the trunk even if its in the line w bottle off it can get extremely high and put the plunger in the seat so hard it will look like a carb needle and become a restriction and will cause excessive rich condition ! Black smoke pulsating etc .pull the nitrous sol apart and look at the plunger it should not have the start of a needle
This condition is way more noticeable while increasing jet size
