PS2 FAT is a real treat - I have recently modified 3 of these with 500 GB HDD added for each and FreeMcboot.. very easy & straight forward modding capability. I bought each of these around $15 or so (DVD drive wasn't working in either of them but its nit needed at all) After a bit of cleaning they look like new & packed full of great games.
Hi Chris! Awesome pickup, an ewaste rescued OG PS2 that is in a working condition! Enjoy playing those PS1 games. Now you will start looking for PS2 games!
Nice find! It always amazes and saddens me the amount of working tech people throw away. I haven’t bought a computer for nigh on 20 years, instead using the castoffs of customers who want rid of perfectly serviceable equipment. Crazy days! Have to disagree on the Doom claim as nothing beats PC Doom. It was the game I abandoned my A1200 for and has been installed on every PC I’ve owned alongside Wolfenstein 3D. The only other game to achieve this feat is GTA Vice City. Actually, today marks the anniversary of my picking up an Xbox 360 on Facebook marketplace for £15 which still going strong. Did you get your keyboard? The PC is up and running with DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.11. I’m sure Doom will be wandering onto to the hard drive before long, alongside Wolfensten 3D and Doom II. Happy fragging! 🙂
I hear you and doom is already on the 386. The reason I like PS doom is it had better lighting effects, nicer sound scape with the echo, and with the darker music it felt more like a survival horror... And that's how I liked playing doom. Not as a run and gun, but as an "aliens" like experience.
@@herdarkshadow834 I enjoyed 2016 for what it was and I also liked the psvr edition, but I also loved doom 3 for the survival horror aspect. It was truly uncomfortable in places.
Unless there was a problem with your Doom disc or your PS2, I was certain that Doom would work on PS2 because I've played it myself that way on a phat UK PS2.

Funny thing is, I'd forgot I already picked up 1 PS2 game at the Nexus toy fair last year 😉
