This club need stability and continuity first and foremost. We sack manager every 2-2½ season and it got us nowhere. Rebuilding is a marathon not a splint.

Especially when we all know the current coach is actually an elite coach who hasn't had the players to play how he wants and get results. 8th should get any United Manager the sack but context is huge. To get the FA Cup despite all the set backs shows Ten Hag is the right man. He should be judged when he is able to choose from a full or semi full squad for a whole season.

Ten Hag is obvs lucky to be United manager, but this idea that he should be thankful that they let him stay on is a little wide of the mark. If you read Laurie Whitwell's article about what he had to put up with, its kind of a miracle he did as well as he did do and didn't completely fall out with the squad and the media.

In a barren era for Man Utd, he's come in & got us 2 trophies. Got a 3rd place finish in his 1st season too. I would say that the positives far outweigh the negatives. He like any manager after Fergie hasn't been backed well enough to win the league. Despite that he's gone on & won 2 trophies, if you've got a manager who knows how to win big games & trophies then he's worth his weight in gold. On top of that he's gone in & has looked to solve one of the biggest problems that this club has had post Fergie i.e. player power. The players at the club might have had a terrible season as a group but I've never got a sense that they weren't playing for the manager or as it has happened numerous times they've not put ETH under the bus. Had we not won the FA Cup final, he would have definitely been sacked but the players gave it their all & played for the manager. Also the young players he's brought in. The club should stick with him & not just sack him if he's had 1 bad season.

I think it's perfectly fine to give Ten Hag more time. In saying that though he must be on a much shorter lease. If the performances don't improve and United are out of CL spots or at least not really near them like 6th-8th place again by Christmas I think he'll get sacked. If there's going to be improvements ETH will have to show it quickly. Despite winning the FA Cup the performances have been dreadfully poor in the league and CL, and they have been poor since we won the League Cup last season.

We need consistency we need stability & continuity & by sticking with Ten Hag we have that. The media will carry on resorting to desperate tactics to get Ten Hag sacked simple fact is he's staying put & will sign a new contract abait on slightly different terms. With a fully fit squad we've proved we can beat anyone & go on a prolonged run of winning games. Under a proper footballing structure we'll get even better. Reasons to back Ten Hag:
    - ETH had a great first season.
    - 3 finals in his first 2 years at the club.
    - Winning 2 cups, league cup and FA cup - no other manager has done that. Instilling a winning mentality.
    - Dealt with the chaos at the club.
    - Tried to change style of play - sure enough injuries and new goalie errors dumped Utd out of champions league. But with the changes it's to be expected.
    - Brought youngsters through in to first team.
    - Got 8th which in the scheme of things wasn't too bad.
I know this is Manchester United but all in all he's not done too bad.

    No chance !
Interesting that the Man Utd pundits have backed off completely and now singing a different tune to what they were all season long that he simply wasn’t good enough .

The correct decision was made, and should have been made sooner. I like Neville but this is very hypocritical - when we had a manager who wasn't up the job and we were doing worse under, but who was his mate (Ole), all he talked about was the Glazers being the problem. He isn't wrong about their damage, but he deflected onto that for the wrong reasons, and sees fit to be equivocal about Ten Hag

Personally i would not give him a new contract, because if he doesn't deliver the league this season or a trophy they can show him the door for free. Personally extending his contract and then doesn't meet the boards expectations they have to pay him off, like Gary said ffp is effecting transfer. Sacking manager after manager effects budgets aswell.
