Hey bro nice viedo. I have a question. How many man hours would you say it took you to replace this ps pump and what was your parts cost.
The reason I ask iscI have a handicap brother in Houston that a mechanic is wanting $1500 to do this exact same job.
His ps pump locked up, so I assume a new pump and accessories.
This price just seems extremely high.
    Thank you

Why thank you, I would say if you had all your tools ready. You can get this job done in about 4-5 hours if you took your time. Total cost was about $180-$200 for the pump, fluid, and pulley puller

Actually, the fluid is not clear. Ford specifies atf for the Freestyle power steering fluid. Read the manual and see it states atf which is red. No wonder the pump went put, using the wrong fluid. People have told me it's the same stuff. I tell them go ahead, put clear power steering in your trans and see what happens, lol. Improper maintenance is one problem I see all the time. The wrong fluid will cause leaks/issues. May not be today or tomorrow, but it will eventually.
I see "parts specialist" all the time at parts stores sell people clear power steering fluid simply because they are saleman, not specialist. My nephew works at one and it was a lesson I taught him. I told him never sell anyone anything just because someone told you to. Look it up and make sure that's what it specifies. Store managers are some of the worst at saying it's the same stuff, atf just has dye in it.

The fluid I put in there did have a tint of red. ATF is meant to be in Automatic transmissions but this is the power steering so I put the correct power steering fluid in there that ford specifically mentioned.

@QuadBossElite Ford didn't specify using prestone power steering fluid with stop leak, which is what gives it a slight yellow tint. The red fluid that came out was much closer to what it's supposed to have. If yours is an '06, go to page 273 in the maintenance and specs section of the manual. Next to the last item is power steering fluid. Everyone knows atf means automatic trans fluid, which is exactly what Ford specifies for the Freestyle power steering fluid. They do not specify regular power steering fluid. Ford specs are Motorcraft Mercon ATF, XT-2-QDX, Mercon. It isn't slight red or clear by any means. It is red atf. I have replaced many Freestyle and other pumps because of whining and deterioration, which is usually caused by incorrect fluid type. I'd hate for anyone to add regular power steering fluid to theirs and cause the pump to start whining and go out eventually from getting wrong information.

    Hmmm.
This video is as good as just typing "remove old pump, replace with new one".
You did not show any of the process or how you overcame any difficulty. Even how the pulley was removed and replaced was not shown.
    Not helpful honestly

This is a great video, there are lots of videos on how to use a pulley press, basically none on working on a freestyle ps pump. If that part of the video was an issue for you, refer to your pulley press manufacturers instructions.
