I love Blues and St Louis Blues filled my musical taste and soul and now 65 years later whenever I listen to that song specially when Louis Armstrong and his band plays it again for me it simply shakes my heart and soul again again and again! Thank you for your wonderful speech and information Kevin Burt!

The "field hollers" described existed in Africa, sung in tribal languages long before US slavery. The practise was carried over to other countries whether the US, the Carribeans or South America. Blues, rumba, calypso, etc...all come from field hollers originated in Africa, developed in the promise land.

Is that blues he is talking about... Or has he just described music? You could say those same things about classical music from hundreds of years before blues. All music is based in emotion and all music is past on to others and constantly evolving.
You could even apply those ideas to other forms of art like painting, poetry, sculpture. Were prehistoric humans putting the blues on cave walls?
I think this guy tells a nice story but it's all just BS designed to sound profound.
