At 13:20, when you said "ok google", my Nexus 5 paused the video and took me to Google Now voice search interface lol.

Other than computers...what devices (hooked to 4K TV) can actually take advantage of the 4K RUclips streaming?? I know my Chromecast can't lol

***** This is true, but 4K does make for better quality video at downscaled resolutions. And if you have a high-res monitor like a Retina Display MacBook, it does make a big difference.

Awesome video, Mike. A very in-depth review that we all can appreciate. I use a Galaxy Gear 1 that I bought on a discount, and after the software update, I love it. However, I'm very interested in Android Wear, since the support is growing daily. I'm excited for the future of wearable tech.
You don't know which charger you prefer? LOL. The live's clasp attaching one is breaking for so many people and its so flimsy. The G watch is so much better in that regard.

Great video! But the Gear Live also is available with different colour variants. So why did you say that the G Watch has two colours but not say the same about the Gear Live?

Fortunately for LG & Samsung, the Moto 360 is yet to be released.
Only thru hardware. Which isn't really that big of a deal because the only difference I see is the Moto 360 is round.
Ernest Marvin Esteban I think that the roundness of the 360 is why it's so unique. I would say it's more natural to what we're used to instead of having a "mini-smartphone" screen on our arms.

My G Shock watch is already €200 so I would expect it to be a lot higher.

It's weird, in Ireland both of these devices are the same price (€199) but in almost every other country they're sold in one is always more expensive than the other! Both great devices but I'm waiting for the Moto 360 :)

I agree that it is nice that these watches aren't exclusive to their companies rather than any android smartphone . So is the gear live not the successor of the gear to but a variant?

I would prefer the gear because of the heart rate monitor but I really like the white and gold colour on the LG G watch.
You don't need to dig through the menus to access the settings. You can just say "okay Google, settings" and it'll take you to the Settings page were you can adjust screen brightness.

i love mine so far, got it monday. FYI, you can get more then a day if you turn off always on. just pull your arm up or tap the screen. and you can start the watch without the charger by using a ball point pen and hold the reset button for 3 seconds.

as you can see the LG G watch in Australia is 1 dollar cheaper
so price isn't not a factor at all in Australia
for us its Looks VS Practicality
Looks being the Gear Live
and Practicality being the G watch for its longer battery life and quicker charging and magnetic charger.

I would like to know ( and I haven't been able to find a review that demonstrates that) what happens when you select the option "display always off"... I am guessing that it just doesn't show time all the time but the wake up process is the same ( i hope).
So if you select that option and your screen is off would it turn on when you bring the wrist up? And the most important question could you expand the battery life for a couple more hours that way?

When using navigation, my phone vibrates when my next turn is coming up. Have you tested the watch to see if it does the same?
can you run a stereo Bluetooth at same time as one of these watches?
I have LG G3.
I actually chose the G watch and i'm using it now. I picked the G watch cause any 22mm watch band will work. ( Gear live is form fitted and if its a generic(non-samsung) band it looks bad.) The bigger battery, although that may not work out to be an advantage. and the drop on charging, i don't trust the durability of the SNAP on kind. so far i'm happy with my choice so as an early adopter and a beta tester, i'm liking Google now on my wrist.
I know off topic - but, could you possibly do a review on the Blackberry Z30 please? :)
Android Wear is a nice operating system, I like how it lets you to interact with your phone on your wrist, but I think charging the watch everyday is not cool. Google has to work on the battery life. For me Withings Activite are best smartwatch yet. And pebble steel takes the second place, imo. Hope Apple will make something incredible and beat all the others :P

Gear live is going to be in wine red so it will have two color options as well
I think there are some good reasons why samsung and lg did not go for circle design like moto360, I would think though it look nicer that way but would exhibit myriad of screen issues with many different apps.

Samsung finally nailed it, the gear live is an absolute beast compared to previous iterations!
I know right, the gear live seems to surpass the g watch in almost every manner. Except for price here in the UK (but its worth the extra ten pounds) I'm excited to see the price of the moto 360 and to see if it contends price wise with the gear live

There are quite a few bugs in this system right now.

Hate to say this but android wear isn't reliable enough yet. If i had to get another smart watch (had a Pebble) the Gear 2 seems most useful. I'm hanging out for what apple bring to the table - if anything!

I like android but this is just rubbish. All it does it show notifications and do google now/google search. Some things like the lighting and ability to disable security on your watch is cool but that's about it.
Is the LG watch also now still worth it?
