I find myself in the same boat! It's nothing like back in 2007-2012 when I was playing a firemage for raiding. This frost stuff has me scratching my head.

The only Frost mages I've seen are Doydo and Manather (high-keys).
You need to check raiderio leaderboards then. Plenty of frost mages

What is the addon that makes the spell icons light up when they are ready to cast?
Commenting out of desperation. At 484 gear, Mirror and Sea Star, on big Lust pulls like 1st pull in BrH and such. Orb > Blizz > Icy w/ Mirror > Comet > Cone > Comet > Orb > Blizz > Shifting > Lances and Spikes. My burst is like......400-500k. What the hell am I missing.
Manather has PI, lust, and aug buff with full stacked gear maybe that’s why I think
I am currently using Shadow flame patch. Do you recommend Blue Silken lining over patch? Also, thanks for showcasing the ray of frost in M+. Did not realize that was an easy option to take. Cheers!
If you primarily care about m+ then yeah i highly recommend 2x blue silken lining, its much superior.

I don't get how your dmg is so high. I think my character is broken. I got wicked gear and stat weights. I know im not perfect but my dps is garbage compared to yours :\ I dunno what to do :((
Bro same I think I have only hit 800k on AOE once this season. Most of the time it’s around 300k-400k. Single target is pretty easy for me though I usually get 225k-250k with non bis trinkets and imperfect stat weights
In my experience I believe it’s about the flow of the key presses and also the tanks pulling strategy and skill
im 485 and my stat weights are good and my ST is 180k with haste and icey, but drops to 100 after that. Aoe is 250-500k, but thats if the tank pulls the groups properly and i have the cooldown ready. sim says i should be 230k in a dungeon slice and im lucky to hit 150k. Im watching Manather and he definetly flows better and the video looks spead up cause the procs are going crazy. I not out to lunch though. My dps i feel should be higher.@@zaydmalik387

If there was one thing you'd recommend to boost overall dps in keys, what do you think it would be? I feel stuck. I feel I do the rotation 90-95% of the time correctly (granted the timing probably isnt perfect) but struggle to get higher than like 170-180k overall and im 480 ilvl. Getting pretty frustrating lol. I rly struggle on ice mage to max out dps. Got perfect gear and stats. The ST rota is not the prob. In AOE situations why u dont freeze the mobs after comet storm ? I use there nova or something to crit with the comet storm. It‘s a gcd. U dont do that. Is that maybe the prob i loose there so much time?

The cone of cold shatters the comet storm before and after it, so no need to freeze there. For the one comet storm that comes before our next cone of cold combo its not worth to freeze instead of using them only on glacial spike

Ring of frost is just for CC, mainly on things that leap on you. Place both sides of the ring between you and the mob. Mob examples are the juggernauts in Atal, the beserkers in Everbloom, the archers here (the ring is placed around them instead), the snapdragons in Throne of the Tides (between you and them again, stops the fixate when they leap).

Noob question, how do i know when i need to bloodlust/heroism in dungeons, is there a guide when to do that?
Generally just on bosses. No guide, but some dungeons have large trash pulls that people lust instead

Frost is perfectly fine to play at any key level, its timed a 31 same as fire. You are not trolling at all playing it.

Yeah theyre still good for frost. You’d rather use a balefire + seastar in m+ though, the fyrakk trinket might win out for you in st. Youd need corrupting rage to replace the crit loss.

Thanks for sharing this. A few questions: It seems like your Frozen Orb and Blizzard ticks are hitting for like 10k a tick and fast. Is that because of Time Warp and Icy Veins? Does it benefit to stack Icy Veins and Time Warp at the same time or wait until one finishes? What add on's are you using?
You can (and should) stack Icy Veins and lust, you don't double lust as frost, though. You either keep second lust for another icy veins or send it after lust is over (depending on fight length, etc).

@@Nick-tz8ev its a cc tool, not sure if I did it here but generally you ring around the archers so they cc themselves out of their arrow barrage when they jump. And some other uses in other dungeons.

Without the flask buffs, potions, etc., how much do you come up with with the stuff alone? I currently have 37% haste, 43% mastery, 31.75% critical strike and 6.55/3.27% versatility.
wondering what talent you use in this, Ring of Frost is not quite common isn't it
its common in higher keys, but the general tree doesnt really matter aside from the very few dmg points. Just pick and choose anything you find valuable.

I did a bit of one for fire recently, the arcane rotation hasnt changes rly since last season except there is a mana burn in st which you can find in guides.
