Started watching your vlogs about a month ago, great stuff. I ride 80s road bikes and single speed road bike conversions. But since watching I'm just pumped to build a single speed mountain bike, just waiting for the right frame/parts to come along. I'm not sure why because I don't ride off road but I guess I'll figure that out when I get to that point.

What are your thoughts on turning a 10 year old budget hardtail 26" mountain bike into a dirt jumper, big kid BMX trail crossover thing?
I think it comes down to the frame geometry. Rather than two triangles, it’s one big triangle shape.
@@jeremyabbott2829 it's a medium Specialized Hardrock and the frame geometry is reasonably similar to a DJ. The stack isn't super low. But not in the way.

How are you able to use quick realease with the rear horizontal dropout?
Talk about trails being too wet, I drove 750 miles to visit family in Ohio, brought my mtn bike, but the trails are closed due to all the rain they got last week 😔

I'm still running a 2007 GT Chucker but it's a 1x11 SRAM NX, Rockshox XC30 forks, long seatpost, tubeless on non tubeless rims and wide 780mm bars....Suits me as an occasional XC ride (muddy, rutted, flat bridleways in eastern England) and a change from a 29er, but looks a damn sight better when someone shorter borrows it to come out......and I'm only 5' 9"...
