Thanks bro, now my monitor looks like complete shit when I play fast paced games.
Yeah this video is pure misinformation
He's an idiot. To fix my problem after doing what he said, I had to factory reset the monitor. All is good again. @@sagirem
LOL
Demm bro💀💀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's probably from Overdrive, that shouldn't be set to Extreme or the max setting for everyone. Each monitor looks and performs better with different overdrive settings.
You forgot to mention that people will get massive ghosting which is shit for competitive gaming and also more tearing
@Blazsher when moving fast with aiming or looking around , whatever your looking at will have like a black trail or the same object but slight faded following behind it , only appears for like a frame or 2 but it can fuck you up you just may not even realize it did, hard to see if your not looking for it, i would use “ufo monitor test” to see if you have alot of ghosting or not ( a prob terrible but quick explanation)
"is shit for competitive gaming" 😂 these settings are for the lowest input lag which is the main focus in competitive games.
@@davidbailey9382 I mean...to me, I prefer not having the fastest Option and getting no ghost whatsoever. If just being fast for the sake of being fast and sacrifice on other aspects is the way to go for you, go for it.
That's like having a mobile phone that has 100x Zoom, ok, it has zoom, but is more of a gimmick cause the quality is shit, but hey..it still zooms 100x.....
@Blazsher Ghosting is when a trail of pixels appear behind moving things, and sometimes even suttle movements make it appear, in some monitors its hard to spot it..but in some it gets really annoying, for example, playing Apex Legends, when you're running around, I constanly see this trail on every weapon, every little detail on the map, its like the frames are struggling to keep up with the monitor refresh and it's very annoying and to me , if i'm playing competitive, it feels like having 2 layers of the same image constanly moving alongside each other, but like @Pillitoes said, check out for UFO monitor test and you'll see
@@Fuinhaa yes but fastest mean overshoot isnt that true , is it affect your tracking ability ?
This is wrong. Doing this will result in ghosting (brief shadows of objects when you move) keep free sync on with over drive on middle and then you can increase or decrease for that fine tuning.
Freesync and gsync increase inout delay not lower it
Why do u comment when u don’t know wtf u are talking about
Turn off all this bs freesync off, gsync off, vsync off, overdrive off. All bs.
@@robbiepna1939Native G-Sync doesn't add input lag and features variable overdrive so Overdrive in this case is an override setting so must be set to Off.
@@robbiepna1939no they dont by .1 ms maybe
no way bro said "one of the buttons" like i totally already knew what to press
Make sure you test your monitor or at least look up the specs because if you turn up the overdrive, it could cause overshoot which makes people look kind of blurry up close, even though the response time is higher it might not be worth it in some cases
how to unoptimize your monitor in 30 seconds.
Realistically.
If you use overdrive without Gsync, there will be tons of inverse ghosting and image trail. It’s like black lines that lag behind every texture and super annoying. Gsync enabled eliminates that with most monitors. But then again Gsync adds input delay at the cost of a smoother game
for the people who dont know, freesync is WAY different than V-sync. freesync lets your monitor get the higher refresh rate while v-sync locks it. for example, my monitor is 60hz, but with freesync on, it turns to 75hz.
What about g sync?
It pisses me off that people buy PCs but dont research shit. Thank you for explaining it.
with free sync on, my input delay is a lot lower, and I get less overshoot when using overdrive.
That’s not right
free sync delay aint lower
@@Hzesaylfc freesync has no delay, that was the damn point of it being created over using vsync.
Vrr cause higher input latency its proven
link? the whole point of the tech is that it doesnt@@ericmartinez5633
These steps are literally the exact opposite of what you want to be doing for reducing input lag etc.
Wrong bruh
Wrong. Overdrive is a very good feature, just make sure it's not set on a setting that's too fast for your screen, just experiment (since that will give you inverse ghosting)
Normal Overdrive is gonna be the best option for gaming, because it almost always has way less overshoot, and will result in less smearing.
Depends on the monitor. Best is to check reviews for your monitor by pros.
using freesync will reduce overshoot and lower your input delay.
@@stansmith7445 no it wont
@@stansmith7445 no it wont

Turn free sync on and turn your overdrive on normal. Extreme causes overshoot and off causes ghosting
Should I turn adaptive sync on
@@tpratt645 free sync and Gsync lower system latency
@@BoostedFB6 are u sure that free sync on helps to lower the input lag
@@vatoloco1243 If you have the card yes, if not turn it off
For me I put both Overdrive and VRB to extreme with Ultra Low Latency Enabled and I get lowest input lag. Varies with each monitor cuz I use Acer
putting it to extreme makes hella pixel overshoot
Turn freesync or gsync on always but overdrive can sometimes make shit look distorted when a scene is in motion but every monitor is different some even have a response time and when you set it to the fastest it looks sharper sometimes because less motion blur is being used most of the time
@@preciseIyNative G-Sync ≠ Compatible G-Sync.
Turning on overdrive to the max will give you ghosting guys! Also if you have an AMD gpu turn ON freesync and if you have an NVIDIA gpu turn ON G-sync
only turn on g-sync if your monitor has it
Gsync and freesync cause Input lag!
What about for ps5
The points of free sync and g sync is to minimize screen tearing and make sure you don’t have big fps drops, if you have neither of those problems with free sync/gsync off then I recommend keeping it off for less input delay but if you have those problems then keep it on because screen tearing will drastically decrease your performance especially in fps games and that small amount of input delay with free/gsync on won’t matter as much as the screen tearing and fps drops
Should I use Freesync if I’m on console with a monitor?
thx just reised one year w monitor didnt have fast response time on
How about g sync in your computer setting do need it on or off?
bro who taught you how monitors & latency work? a f*cking rock

thanks a lot man. you made my day
Can u do a tut on. How to change res on that monitor
use CRU i have that monitor look up a vid on how to do it, its really easy. on that monitor 1080p looks so bad so i would use 1680x1050 or 1600x1024 rn im using 1600x1024 and it looks good when you play single player games you should switch it to 1080p
Hey what is monitor timer resolution I have it set to 3 seconds but idk if I should have it at like 60 or sum
I had overdrive set on extreme on my Benq XL2411Z 144hz and it had clearly visible ghosting, it was specially noticeable on darker skins/textures since the ghosting trail was bright blueish, but I changed my monitor to the newer version: Benq Zowie XL2411P 144hz, set the overdrive on extreme and now I don't see ghosting on the screen, which makes me think that this Benq Zowie have faster response times than the standard Benq monitor, making ghosting inapreciable, I then remember that the Zowie version was the one used by pros in tournaments back in the day, so it was optimized for highest response times, so you can turn the overdrive to extreme with no ghosting problems, which is great, so, in conclusion, if anyone is on a low end gaming monitor that has ghosting set the overdrive to normal and if you are on a high end monitor try turning it to extreme and see if you see any ghosting, and enjoy your gaming.
Tysm youre the best god bless u
Do i also need to put off my variable refresh rate on my console? If i put fresync off
overdrive normally you'd want to put it right in the middle not the highest and freesync or gsync only on if your playing single player games freesync wouldn't work if ur fps is higher than it and it can cause more input delay
Thanks in bro now when i play fortnite my ping was on 805 help soooo much
G-sync or freesync is like a better version of vsync
Not so good for fps games because of the input lag and u need a Good pc to maintain your fps , cuz if it drops a bit it your mouse movement will feel like poop . For single player games makes the games smother and no lag spikes
And setting the overdrive on extreme u will get ghosting. I recommend to watch some reviews for your monitor and see which overdrive you should set it . For some monitor is usually the middle option , in between fast and extreme settings
yeah i don't know why some people just straight up recommend turning on freesync for better input lag
Basically if u don't get the amount of fps your monitor has turn on freesync
@@sup3rnov400 because they are brainless
It's not this simple at all. Optimal settings are different for different monitors, setups and applications.
overdrive causes bad smearing not good for gaming especially don't max it out lol
What about f what does refresh rate num do
And what should I have for adaptive sync should it be on or off
I have a Lenovo Legion Y25F with has freesync but I don't have it in my monitor options.

It’s not smart to turn the overdrive all the way up it gives you ghosting overshoot.
so no adaptive-sync?
Turn of amd freesync premium and turn on overdrive extreme?
why uncheck freesync? mine is on but not sure what it actually does
I was searching for best settings for my monitor and everyone seems to mention that you should disabled it from the settings
Freesync has nothing to do with your input delay. Your monitor settings wont actually change much.
Optimized monitor settings should be something like:
Freesync: ON or OFF. I will explain
Overdrive: go for the option that give you the lowest amount of ghosting and inverse ghosting.
Freesync basically do the same thing as vsync, but it gives you a variable refresh rate and makes your monitor update once a frame is "ready". So you should use freesync when u cant get your fps to match your display refresh rate. Also freesync is useless when you get higher FPS than your display refresh rate.
Hope I helped y'all
@@ninjaofthepivipi2405 is freesync and adaptive sync are different?
@@baphometrag7751 Yes, the big difference between them is the refresh rate. Freesync has a fixed refresh rate and framerate limit, and adaptative sync refresh rate varies according to the amount of frames your gpu is rendering per second.
Adaptative sync is better, because it keeps up with your frames, instead of just forcing your monitor to refresh X times per sec (X being the refresh rate of your monitor)

what if i own alienware aw2521hfla and when i turn response time extreme i got ghosting, can i somehow minimise it or play on super fast or fast?

It depends on the games you play for Competitive shooters if your getting stable 120+ Or more FPS then turn on to get faster input response time > but if you FPS is 60-100 you will see i"mage artifact ghosting" >>> it's better to turn this off for single player games and racing games because you don't need it and can ruin game graphic quality
