“The Pool is still full of water”
*A true memelord*
Jajaajajajajajajaja
To this day the water still is perfect
Yess
LOL
lol tbh it kinda makes sense the pool is Under Water
All respect to Lorraine Betts (entertainment director), Moss Hills (guitarist), and Robin Boltman (magician), functional last Officers of the Oceanos. You and your fellow entertainment staff have more than earned your place in history.
My mother was one of them
@@jamesbull7817 All respect to her as well, then.
@@jamesbull7817really? Tell us more!
The crew probably abandoned ship before anyone else because they knew in 2011 this song would be played with footage of the wreck...
spitfire4sergi best comment ever
👍
Most of them did, The captain was forced to stay behind as well as some other officers, I believe. It was the entertainment people (whatever theyre called) that made the rescue operation possible I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong
Plus the captain said "he was going to coordinate the rescue from a lifeboat" remind you of anybody?
Bet they wish they had gone down with it
It's amazing how quickly a relatively freshly sunken ship becomes just another wreck.
AND already covered with sealife
@@marcathens2951 Imagine what it looked like, freshly sunk.
It’s been 32 years since then.imagine what is left of it now.
I think shipwrecks are fasicinating but shit scary at the same time
rom3636 yup same! Kinda creepy but interesting.
Couldn't agree with this statement anymore!!! Something about seeing them at the bottom of the ocean creeps me out!!!
I agree. And seeing the propellers is the scariest part for me for some reason. I think because years ago I had a nightmare that I fell off a huge ship and was sucked into one of the propellers and chopped up.
Lol why is everyone replying now
revokdaryl1 in britanic some people died because of the propellers
Not only did everyone live without any injuries but there’s even footage of it going under as well which u can’t say about many shipwrecks at all
These guys have balls. It's very hard to get down there because of sharks and currents.
the depth is actually a much bigger issue. Under 40-50 meters you're talking about a serious technical dive with considerable time (hours) spent on safety stops
Sharks would just leave you alone. Sharks only mistake humans as seals.
Its harder to get down there because of the shitty soundtrack that plays on the way down to it. Who wants to hear this music!?!
I think sharks are the least problem there: you have to be extremly brave go inside a shipwreck
@@thelatiosmaster Not really just smart. If you are worried about getting lost use rope or twine to help guide you back out when you are done exploring, leave the ship nice and early to make sure you have enough air to do your safety stops going back up
"Oops, somebody left the water running." - Lewis Bodine
Thank you for that fine.. forensic analysis, Mr Bodine. Of course, the experience of it was.. somewhat different.
Will you share it with us?
it's been... 84 years....
And I can still smell the fresh paint.
Titanic was called the ship of dreams and it was , it really was ...
I love this song. “Sadeness Part 1” by Enigma, 1991. Truly awesome.
Just mute this and listen to whatever song you like on Spotify
Anshuman Kumar why? Because you are not a christ? No one cares what music you wanna listen to.
Just enjoy the video m8
Lol just imagine: TREY WAE-
I was gonna say the same thing! Lol!
@@jacksonmunozarios8515 this song sucks, if anyone likes it, then they have to check their brains 😂
@@ruzwald ...and you have to check your english...
GET REKT!
Fascinating to see the old girl again. Was on this ship in 1987. Will never forget the wonderful Greek staff and crew. The running joke was that almost everyone was named Yiannis. Also shook hands with the cowardly captain that abandoned ship and left everyone on board as the ship sank.
I remember that corridor at 1:48 that led to the back deck and pool area....what was that, the Jupiter Deck?
Really ?
I was on this ship when it sank in 91. It looks just like it did right before she plunged beneath the waves.
It's amazing what only 10 years of being under the ocean does a ship. It must look worse even now.
How can you say it looks the same when it clearly looks fucked and rusted up now
tqsuited
They meant the orientation of the ship has not changed (other than the fact she's on her side) everything is basically just the way it was left when it sank in '91
tqsuited Because it was a piece of shit boat. Put two and two together. It was an ironic statement.
did you get out on a lifeboat or did you have to be taken off by one of the helicopters?
Remember watching this on Tv when I was a child , what an amazing sight , I remember the SANDF Puma helicopters coming in to rescue the passengers , Its sad that it sunk but , I guess now a million fish are thankfull for their new home :) Nothing goes to waste .
Why do divers always feel the need to put crappy music in the background?
would you rather listen to Justin beiber? or water's sound
yes the original audio, if its water and breathing, fine by me.
I think it goes great with it! Very relaxing to watch and music goes perfect but that's just my opinion (but can see how it could be annoying for others if you just want diving without music) but besides that it's awesome.
hit the mute button if you dont like the music....#cryers
You can mute and play your own song
Ah yes, great sound of Enigma. I really love this song!
Well done nice footage as well, glad you had no crazy currents. Thanks for sharing the video footage.
Absolutely terrifying. I don't know how anyone can do it. It takes a special person I think. To not mute this, I mean. Good god.
I am not that person. Only made it half way before I just had to hit that button.
the ship sank killing an amazing 0 crew, 0 passengers, and 0 rescuers. everyone lived but it is a sad loss of a ship.
Yes and it actually freed the many live lobsters kept in the ships kitchen.
Indigo Cool well its fish life now lol
No one died, who is the person you think died??
The crew abandoned ship without telling any of the passengers that it was sinking
CooterCoy ships final k/ratio: 1 to negative 700 lobsters.
Ships a fuckin noob
It's unfortunate that the Oceanos sank due to poor maintenance but no one died aboard and the ship now serves as an artificial reef for marine life.
Beautiful ship, beautiful song.
love the music.A classic
actually love this song. thought it fit perfectly with the footage
Zachery Ballenger the voice was very weird and the side music was pretty weird but the main music was good
Best music so far that I've heard for a wreck dive.
I agree, it seems good, I guess a lot of people just got discouraged form the start part
Great job on what’s an already dangerous dive
the official report was the hot water system sprung a leak and it happened to be right next to the generators. the generators shut down and the captain's crew left the ship before warning the passengers. the captain tried to flee but was caught and dragged back. he spent 12 hours hugging a support beam until the helicoptors showed up.
keithbu the last part isn’t true.
The water intake system pipe snapped and sea water got in and caused all propulsion and electricity to cut out and the rest is right
@@buckzz___ Yes it is. There's a lot of footage of the captain cowering in a corner hugging a support beam, and he slipped in among the passengers and became one of the first airlifted off the ship. He'd tried to escape with the passengers leaving on the remaining life boats but the entertainment staff pulled him back three seperate times - quietly so as not to cause further unrest among the passengers.
More so the last part was exaggerated making it untrue
Jake the Saint She also had a hole in the sewage tank so the water filled the tank then proceeded up into all of the plumbing, seawater was coming out of every toilet and sink.
Amazing footage of the ship wow
good choice of song for the video, quite eerie
I remember this song from TV commercials for Pure Moods compilation CDs in the 90s.
The ship lies on the starboard side
videomansa :o really!
I thought it was upside down
@@beacher50_ on google i can't find a rapresentation of the wreck
This was uploaded the day after my birthday!
Beautiful, haunting song.
Excellent videography. Maddening mind-numbing music.
Love the music
The footage is awesome... the music is... intrusive. ;)
Not many vids like this yet for Oceanos
It would be nice if you found Moss Hills Gibson Les Paul and got it back to him.
It would be one hell of a salvage job! What a waist but it can at least be a place for the fish now. Looks like it landed on it's side but cant tell. Strange music choice!
Oh this was just to short. Would have loved to see more!! But it was great!
“The pool is still full of water!” Oh really? Never would have thought...
Chlorine water
the sound of the water would be awesome. But the music is cool. nice video.
Using Enigma's Sadness with this vid was an odd decision but was worth it. Adds an eerie vibe to it.
Wait the pools still full of water? *I never would've been able to guess!*
If this ship had lived eventually it would have been scrapped years ago. Instead she's still here in the great underwater museum. Priceless.
All respect to the music used in this video.
Amazing viz.
Great video.... Especially with the sound off
One thing that got me thinking, how do these divers overcome the challenges of diving one of the most strong currents in the world? Before it was couple of days after the sinking divers were having difficult time diving through strong currents. I also heard one diver even swept away and never been found. How do they do that?
Well, currents do die down sometimes thanks to changes in climate.
I would've never known the pool was still full of water!
the pool is still full of water??
Love the song
This was the kind of music people used to get it on to in the 90's
The pool is still filled with water??? how???
She avoided been scrapped.
its chilling seeing a cruise ship underwater like that
I am absolutely terrified of ships, especially sunken ones. Idk why. My parents took us on a cruise when I was a teenager...I was less than thrilled. I was terrified.
Maybe you were a titanic victim in your past life
Imagine diving in this music XD
When was the last time the Oceanos has been dived to?
2005
Just imagine if it was raised up and have a good look around inside ?. That would be awesome .
Backdrop for the T&A classic "Hardbodies II"
Never heard of this ship till today
I love ships and shipwrecks. But the thought of diving down into the ocean, and through the deep blue of the ocean you see a shipwreck. It just kinda freaks me out.
The pool is still filled with water made me giggle
Long live the The sunked ship that died😭
This plainchant funky
It's amazing how in just 20 or so years the marine life takes over and covers it, I think it should stay down there because it can now be an artificial reef!
True, say have you heard of whale fall? Its where a whale dies and sinks to the bottom of the ocean where as it is decomposing deep sea critters feast on the meat tha calcium until theres nothing left, the whole process takes ive heard 50 years.
All respect to entertainers and some resepect to this ship for holding 19 hours to allow her passengers escape
Hold on is this the soundtrack from the beginning of Tropic Thunder with RDJ as a priest?
Amazing that the ships PA system still works.
What is PA system?
@@Linnik_Gameplays Public Address system. Microphones connected to speakers throughout the ship used to summon people and notify them of events.
@@revokdaryl1 how did they know that it was working?
@@Linnik_Gameplays I don't think they knew for sure that it worked. They just assumed it worked. The "captain" clearly didn't give a toss for the passengers as he saved himself before anyone else.
Only sunk less than 30 yrs already looks worse than Titanic
+James Varela I'll tell you something good Oceanos ship wreck is at a depth less than 40 meters deep and the Titanic at a depth of 4,000 meters to wreck the deeper the better titanic sank over 105 years ago but is better-looking. Titanic is conserved and the Oceanos is slowly destroyed by different plants and this is the reason that the wreck Oceanos is more damaged.
+Elaini ARE YOU SURE THAT IT WAS "TITANIC" AND NOT "OLYMPIC"???
LOTS OF FRAUD IN SHIUPPING...
+James Varela Because Titanic was built of good strong steel. But people believe the old news reports about the cheap steel since they are too lazy to do REAL research. Pieces of Titanic has been raised and tested. Her steel was superb. NO ship can survive when side-swiping an iceberg (Titanic is the only one that has done this). The force was 1-million foot-tons per second; that's like a mine! Oceanos was already in bad condition when she left port.
Titanic is in a better condition, as oppose to Oceanos because of the less oxygen at 2.3 miles underwater than 322ft. However, Titanic has a form of bacteria-eating the wreck slowly. Titanic's top deck is suggested to cave in on itself in around 20 years, due to deterioration.
Titanic is famous because it's the most disastrous maritime sinking in history. The mistakes that were made numerous times before and during it's sinking and the number of people that died. Not because it hit an iceberg. Nor was Titanic the first. Many ships have been lost do to ice in the sea. Titanic may have been the last to be sunk by an iceberg.
“The pool is still full of water!”
You're right
name of the song...i want it on my wedding night
Some of y'all are saying that 300 feet isn't deep. Being a certified Scuba diver, I can tell you that 300 feet is deep!
Oh heck yeah. Deepest I have gone is 210, and that was enough for me. I swear my vest was going to pop...
Although in a couple of years I am going to the Britannic...
@@aquastar7315 Did you end up visiting the Britannic? If so, how was it?
"The pool is still full of water."
Okay but the mood totally changes if you mute the video and play the entire soundtrack of Six The Musical
The only remaining functional thing on the ship: The pool
I am astounded at how the pool is still full of water after all these years.
Was the bell ever recovered?
I didn't realize scuba divers could dive to that depth? That's over 300 ft down
Only 30 years and it looks like actually ass now it’s amazing how fast the ocean changes stuff and clams it as her own.
29 years
Pretty sure this song was lifted straight out of mid-90's late night Cinemax programming...
It's also been 30 years since she sank so that's a lot of corrosion to happen
This is a deep wreck! Was anything salvaged from her?
Nope nothing is salvaged on the ship
"the pool still full of water"
lol
Wasn't this music in tropic thunder?
If the wreck lies 98m deep in the sea and the Océanos was 153m long I cannot understand how it sank completely vertical. It should have been touching the sea bottom unless it broke in two during the sinking.
Yes, its bow hit bottom and broke, that's why it's fallen like the Britannic wreck.
Why is the ship facing forward like on its. Nose should I be lying down
so did the ship land upside-down?
No it's just laying on its starboard side
How hard is it to dive in 322ft of water with strong currents?
Very. And you forgot to mention sharks.
Maybe there’s a sunburst Gibson les Paul that might be recovered in the wreckage lol.
Would have been fabulous to retrieve one of the guitars.
"The pool is still full of water!"
Me: *disgust snort laugh*
No the chlorine water
This dive must have been a year or two after she went down? but then there's also other parts of the ship that still has paint on them with no much growth of whatever eats these ships like the Titanic. I believe that sinking in fresh water doesn't do much damage to the wrecks unlike at the bottom of the Atlantic.
This footage was takes 14 years after she sank.
The officers and captain of this ship were terrible. They abandoned ship before the passengers and left the entertainment crew to save the passengers. Amazingly nobody was killed.
0:41 the pool is full with water
Yell yes, but actually yes
Be careful on the oceanas I will Donna's I watched it sing on ABC News and you could actually hear bulkheads collapsing under the pressure so there's probably a lot of twisted metal inside
Eerie dive for sure
As a spearfisherman 4:36 omggggg that’s a GIANT snapper
Are those African chiclet fish??
Is it just me or is it unsettling seeing a shipwreck loom into view
It is quite unsettling. That one shot of the propeller in the darkness at 3:45 gave me chills. It's incredible that everyone survived this sinking. I'd love to get a look inside the engine room.
What caused the wreck?
Seawater flooded the ship slowly via toilets, sinks, and shower drains.
What's the name of this song
Sadeness by Enigma
The Pool is Still Full by Enigma.
It went from Moss Hills to Coral Piles.
