Not a lot of people talk about how explosively cool the tones are on these when you add some compressor at the front end. The chorus, the reverb, a nice single coil guitar and the compressor on top. BAM! Instant glorious clean tones.
I remember the first JCs came to a Berlin shop and we all just went there. The whole band sat in front of this "tone monster" and enjoyed its cleans, the reverb and - of course - the chorus ... benchmark sound! Was like 2000 "Deutsche Mark" back then so none of us could afford it (;-((( Still love to hear it today.
U need to demo them with a boss gt1000 core running stereo this is what sells .and if U put a few valves in and get rid of the weight U will have the number one seller.
What are the dates on manufacture for the JC-50? I just bought one (and I love it) but I'm trying to properly date it. A source told me May 1984, and another said the JC-50 was only produced in 1978. Can Roland help? The serial number is 422343. Thanks!
Do Modern JC120's have the same loud hiss the old ones had? I had one from the 80s and its tone was fantastic of course, but it hissed LOUD, and low volumes. I'm not able to crank my amp loud at home, I HAVE to play softer. I couldn't deal with the hiss in that case. I will gladly get a new JC120 if the new ones don't hiss.

My Jc hisses like a bitch it’s only 12 years old Roland jc120b made in Japan
Talking about a great amp having no examples of the sound and having to listen to a cheesy backing track ? Weird!
James Hetfield clean. That’s all you need to know
Reverb fails within months of purchasing. Roland was impossible to work with. No support after sale I am sorry to report.
How old was the amp when you purchase it
Apparently the OP's customer support isn't so great either! 7 years and still no response. @@Ct-rq8zy
