Tips and Tricks: How to Launch a Kayak from a Dock

- In this video, I show you how to get in and out of your kayak when your kayak is below you on a dock.
This dock I am using may be a bit deeper or shallower than a dock you may use, but if your legs can reach the kayak with your bottom still on the dock, then this technique will work.
In this video, I am using a Ck1 Venture from Crescent Kayaks and a Bending Branches Navigator Angler Paddle.

Thanks a million for this Donald. Got a Kayak for first time few months back and always wondered how to do this. There are lots of lovely rivers here in Ireland but very few have slip ways and mostly cater for cruisers with docks. Now I have more choice.

I like to go from butt on dock to butt in seat. Position feet in front of seat in direction and plop down. Your "stand" up first in kayak, then move feet, then sit down is a sure fire way to capsize and go overboard.

That whole manoeuvre looks really sketchy to me.
I wouldn't advise doing it this way at all.
Don't do what this dude is doing. Many ppl have balance issues. You get a LOW as you can to enter the boat. You don't stand there...what in the world.... don't do it folks I'm warning you.
