  • More and more commercial domestic hot water (DHW) systems are being designed to implement recirculation to conserve water and save energy; in fact many local and state codes now require it. The hardest part of making sure a DHW system ultimately does what it is designed and intended to do is proper balancing. How do we as system designers, product providers and installing contractors make sure the system is properly balanced so it really does conserve water, save energy and deliver hot water on demand for a happy user?
Jody Samuell, Manager of Engineer Education, and Kevin Freidt, Director of Product Management, will examine the importance of balancing a DHW circuit and discuss common types of balancing valves. You'll learn:
    - Why do hot water recirculation circuits need to be balanced?
    - What happens if a HW circuit is not balanced?
    - What types of valves are used for balancing HW circuits?
    - How do I select the right balancing valve for my project?
    - How do I size the valve?
    - What are the differences between manual, automatic and thermostatic balancing valves?
Jody Samuell spends his days talking the talk to the HVAC engineering community. With over 20 years in the HVAC industry, his experience and passion for teaching is sure to captivate and technically engage our audience. He is joined this month with Kevin Freidt, who is the eyes and ears of our tech support team extraordinaire. He's heard about it, troubleshot and solved real-time field perplexities. Kevin has 30+ years’ of experience in the commercial HVAC industry.

Please explain why you did not added the fixture residual pressure to the circulation pump head & also what about the the fixture unit GPM?. Is the circulation flow rate enough to achieve the required fixture flow rate for hot water?.
    thanks
